This document discusses a WebQuest project that compared African slavery systems in Colonial New Spain (Mexico) and British/U.S. slavery between 1500-1800 CE. Students researched the topic and worked collaboratively to create a PowerPoint presentation. Feedback from students indicated they initially disliked the assignment but enjoyed doing the research and taking on roles, and felt they learned more than from cramming for an exam. Based on prior assessments, students scored higher on this project approach. The document identifies some limitations and ways to improve the project assessment.
