Quann Community Garden is located next to Quann Park in Madison, WI. It contains 140 plots that are used by gardeners year-round. The garden was developed with help from the non-profit Community Action Coalition. It faces occasional problems with theft but a living fence was installed for protection. Most gardeners are non-native English speakers so informational signs are provided in both English and Spanish. The garden also contains a memorial orchard and quiet garden dedicated to one of the original garden members.

11. The Jessica Bullen Orchard and Quiet Garden serves as a memorial to Jessica Bullen. Bullen was struck by a car and killed in 2005. She was one of the original members of the garden.

13. Quann Dog Park is located behind the garden near the Alliant Energy Center. Although the park is very popular, dogs are not allowed in the garden.

14. Quann Dog Park is off-leash and fenced in. It is one of the largest dog parks in Madison.

17. Although it is not very active now, there used to be a garden committee for children. The group was devoted to making the area welcome for kids of all ages.

18. A plot must be regularly used or it will be given away.

19. Although the season officially opens at the end of March or early April, and runs midway through October, people can access their plot at any time.

22. A friendly reminder that outsiders are not welcome to the food produced in the garden. Unfortunately, most of the theft is often internal.

23. Anyone who owns a plot in the garden is required to put in a set number of service hours. If a plot is abandoned, it is usually given to someone on the wait list. About 10 to 12 plots open up each season.
