Phone keeper presentation

  1. 1. By Charlie Hardy, Douglas Murray and Joe Gocher
  2. 2. Who, what, when, where and why? Who? Smartphone users in general What? Alert them when they drop their phone When? Whenever you might happen to drop your phone Where? Wherever you might happen to drop your phone Why? So that people don’t lose their phones
  3. 3. The Problem The problem that this app will solve is people losing their phones without realising straight away, they then realise later and are then unable to find it.
  4. 4. The Question? How can you keep yourself from losing your phone?
  5. 5. Key Insight(s) Losing your phone is terrible, and once you’ve lost it, there is no compensation. Having phone keeper on your phone will solve this problem by alerting you if your phone. The alarm may go when it is not needed.
  6. 6. Our team, Arion, is developing a smartphone app that helps anyone that uses their phone regularly on the go, that could potentially lose it. The app will alert them as soon as they drop it or help them find it in retrospect. Elevator Pitch
  7. 7. User profiles
  8. 8. Current Alternatives Other Apps: Find My Phone Phone Finder GPS Phone Tracker Alternative Solutions: Zip-up pockets
  9. 9. The Core Feature  The main feature of the app is to stop people form losing their phone by alerting them straight away. The app uses the accelerometer in order to detect the motion of falling then hitting the ground. The users can change the alarm to what suits them best and change the volume.
  10. 10. Wireframe pg 1 When phone is dropped, your phone will sense this, and after 3 seconds, your phone will vibrate and the alarm will go. This will notice you to the phone, and you’ll pick it up and press ok to switch the alarm off Once you’ve pressed Ok, you’ll be taken to this page, where you can set your settings, from a multitude of alarms, and setting the time, you can also press the 3 buttons below the setting.
  11. 11. Wireframe pg 2 This page just gives you a short description of the app, and what it can do. This page allows you to connect to devices in the same internet network.
  12. 12. Wire Frame pg 3 This page allows you to set an alarm on a different device This page shows you were your phone is by using maps and GPS tracking
  13. 13. Feasibility The feasibility of the app is not incredibly high. However it is perfectly possible especially if you consider the advances companies have made on the sensitivity of the accelerometer. GPS tracking has also been done before and the alarms from different systems will work by finding devices on the same internet network.
  14. 14. Marketing strategy We intend to sell our app to insurance companies. They would likely buy into it as it would result in less lost phones, ergo less money they have to pay out. We would also sell it on Google Play for a small price, probably about $2, whereas it would come free with insurance.
  15. 15. Wild Card  This app is the first of it’s kind, the accelerometer has never been used this way before. What’s more the app has many different functions… maps and setting an alarm from different systems.
