2. 1. 2 cups of vegetable oil
2. 1 cup of sugar
3. ¾ of a cup orange juice
4. ¼ of a cup brandy
5. 2 teaspoons orange zest
6. 2 teaspoons baking powder
7. 1 teaspoon baking soda
8. 8 cups of all-purpose flour
9. 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
10.1 ½ cup of finely chopped walnuts
4. • 2 cups of honey
• 2 cups of sugar
• 2 cups of water
5. First, put the 5 first ingredients in the mixerand beat them
for 4 minutes..
6. After that, sieve the flour with the baking
soda and the baking powder.
7. Mix the liquid materials with the flour
and knead slightly.
8. Mould table-spooned mixtures in many shapes and put
them on prepared trays. Bake for about 30 minutes at
175ο
C and in the meantime, prepare the syrup.
10. Pour the syrup over the melomakarona as soon as you take
them out of the oven. When they have absorbed the syrup,
turn them over to allow it to be absorbed on both sides.
11. Set them aside to cool.
Last but not least, sprinkle the melomakarona with
grounded walnuts.
