  1. 1. SOCCER In 1848 the rules now known as the laws of soccer were created at Cambridge University.
  2. 2. <ul><li>An official Fifa soccer reild is between 100 and 110 m in length. And between 64 and 75 m in width. </li></ul>
  3. 3. THE GAME Soccer is a complex game with 11 players on each team. There is no specific place that each player has to play however there are formations that are more popular than others. The most popular formation in soccer today is a 4-4-2 having 4 defenders, 4 midfielders, and 2 strikers. The object is to place the soccer ball in the opponents goal, this is done by a combination of passes and shooting. A pass across the field to another teammate is called a cross from there they can pass to you someone else or take a shot.

GOAL KICK <ul><li>There are many rules in soccer some of the basics include the goal kick where a goalie or other player gets to kick the ball from the goal box upon the opposing team kicking it out of bounds past his goal and the goal line. Also if the ball goes out of bounds at the side lines the team opposite the one who kicked the ball out of bounds get’s to through the ball back in bounds over there head keeping both arms straight. </li></ul>
  5. 5. <ul><li>Soccer is the largest sport in the world with around 260 million registered players and an estimated larger number of unregistered players. </li></ul><ul><li>It is a long game having two halves each lasting 45 minutes. </li></ul><ul><li>The major event of the soccer world is the World Cup. Professional teams all around the world struggle all season long to improve their rankings and get a chance to play in the World cup. </li></ul><ul><li>America has never won the World Cup, never even making it to the championship game. The closest America ever came was placing third in 1930. </li></ul>
