FINAL HUMANITIES PAPER
This semester we have spent time looking at the changes that took place in
Europe during the Renaissance. Western civilization shifted its focus from the
afterlife to life on earth. With increased humanism, culture and science became
more secular, more realistic, and more diverse. Our modern American culture has its
roots in the humanities of Renaissance Europe. However, our culture also takes
influences from across the world. For your final humanities paper you will (1) select
a country/region of the world other than the USA and a subject area; (2) research in
the computer lab & media center; and then (3) prepare a two-page typed paper with
an additional documentation page (use noodletools.com) to share with the class. The
paper must be a full 2 pages typed. Don’t play the margin/font games – just do a
good job. You must include at least 3 print and/or database sources and 2 internet
sources. The paper is worth 50 points towards your final report card grade. Any late
papers will be lowered 10 points/day.
