Before making my contents page, I had to plan what to put on it, what style and look I wanted to achieve. these are a list of things I took into consideration.
2. For my contents page, I want to match my front cover of my
magazine, as I believe that continuity is key for any media
product like a magazine. Keeping the same colour would
make it look more professional and would hold the finishing
product together. However, I don’t want it to be exactly the
same as it may look a bit boring and may not match my target
audience as it could look quite childish. The main colour was
pink for the front cover which would for continuity reasons
would have to stay the same. For this reason, I will use this
colour as my background colour as It will be the main colour.
I can also use purple and white as they are from the colour
palette from my front cover. I will use these colours for my
text to go on the contents page. These colours link into my
target audience as explained in the questionnaire research
review. I want a professional finish to my contents page and
want to make it to a high standard and the colour scheme
could be the most important aspect when trying to make the
magazine appeal to my target audience.
3. I am using a person from my class called Eman to model as a
celebrity inspired by current pop singer Ariana Grande, yet I am
keeping Eman’s actual name as if she was a celebrity. I want her
body language to be girly and happy as that is represented in
recent photo shoots with Ariana Grande. This is done by body
posture being girly and confident as well as young and feminine.
My target audience is young and my media product is mostly
aimed at a female audience. I also want the shoot to be happy and
playful as I don’t want to confuse my magazine with fashion and
that is one thing I need focus on. I want the picture to be next to the
text on the left and maybe have a row of pictures of celebrities
(models) at the bottom overlapping my main image to make the
contents page more busy. Overall, I want to create a chic ditsy look
to my main image (Eman)for my contents page. I can do this with
costume, lighting , body posture, hair, make up and facial
expression. I want Eman to wear denim as it is a current summery
trend and seen as though it’s a summer addition, I want to enhance
a summery vibe/feel to the contents page.
4. For my side bar, I want to use alternative colour which fit into
my colour scheme which could be purple and black. I also want
to add white to underline each feature. This adds to my colour
scheme making it varied and more busy on the page. I also want
to use a posh/fancy font for my text as I find it could look quite
feminine which may be appealing to my target audience as I am
targeting my magazine to a majority of a female audience. I want
my text to be straight and in line, this is because I want it to look
of a professional standard and if its not straight, it may look
sloppy and not tidied up. I believe it is the finer detail that pulls a
piece of coursework together. Also, I shall use lots of buzzwords
and words that may represent youth, to get the attention of my
target audience on my contents page. I will used words that
relate to gossip like secrets within the music industry as buying a
music magazine may be to keep up to date with what is
happening with current artists, which resembles my target
audience.
