THEORY
Based on current theories, establish what
should be done in the area of your interest
(Vocabulary, listening, speaking...) Focus
the area from wider to narrow perspectives
(Vocabulary teaching, Vocabulary learning
strategies,..) Why is your area of interest
important in the field of English teaching?
A good example
The classroom management involves several aspects that
impacts on the development of the class. In fact, Harmer
(2009) says that, the way we move and stand, the way we
are able to respond to what happens in class, often marks
the difference between successful teaching and less
satisfactory lessons.
What do you think?
The purpose of the classroom project is the application of
activities that will enhance students to become aware
of the significance of moral values in the classroom
through cooperative learning. Therefore, teaching a
foreign language should not only focus in the
academic instruction given that English is a worldwide
principal medium of communication , in a like manner
the transformative impact of globalization, but also in
the human and social growth of each individual.
And this?
This classroom project is focused on the implementation of
processes and techniques to help learners develop their
listening skill. It is worthwhile to mention Vandergrift’s
(2004)

processes,

which

will

be

useful

in

the

implementation of this skill. The first one is called Topdown and it is related to metacognitive awareness, this
process starts with students general and background
knowledge which then moves on to language knowledge;
the second strategy is bottom-up that has to do with lexical
segmentation and word recognition skill and the learning
process in this case moves from knowledge of the
What about this?
The justification of this innovative classroom
proposal will have as objective the
implementation of a creative writing
approach inside a classroom of a primary
school using effective cooperative learning
strategies.
Problematic situation
Based on studies, personal experiences or
theory, indicate the problematic situation,
controversies or gaps or contributions in the
area you intend to work. Explain in detail
and citing the appropriate sources of
information what the needs are in the field
you have chosen for the completion of your
project.
A good example
The idea of teaching values through task based
instruction emerged when we observed the
behavior of the students nowadays. We detected
that some kids are disrespectful with their teachers
and also peers behave in a manner that it is
sometimes difficult for facilitators to guide the
class.
A good example
However, and taking into account Colombian English
teaching in public schools, education in this branch
(English course), seems to be weak in view of the fact
that the results by the ICFES’ report about the average
of students’ mastering of English shown that between
2007-2009 the levels of students’ English mastering in
Public High Schools was under A2, 87,8% average of
the 3 years (Informe Examen de Estado de la
Educación Media, 2011),
Purpose of the implementation
Why is your proposal important, pertinent and innovative in
this context?
- Describe what you want to do
- Describe the problem based on previous observation or
your own experience as learner.
- Highlight the solution and the justification.
- Describe the people will be benefited with this proposal
- Describe how you (as a teacher) will be benefitted
- Practitioners’ preparation (the steps you will follow)
Purpose of the implementation
Describe what you intend to do.
Mention it from a theoretical perspective.
Explain how your intervention will impact the theory
Explain how long this intervention will take
Where will it take place
Profile of the people involved, students and teacher s
