is Powered by HBT
Hypothesis Based Testing (HBT) is a personal scientific test methodology powered by the defect
detection technology STEMTM to deliver clean software. It consists of six stages, with the first
two stages focused on “Understanding expectations” and “Understanding context”.
The first stage “Understanding expectations” focuses on outward aspects
... business problem the software is attempting to solve, marketplace, customer types,
end user types, business requirements, deployment environment and technologies
used.
The second stage “Understand context” focuses inward
... technical features, their dependencies & interactions, usage profile, attributes,
business risk & prioritizing them, and finally identifying the cleanliness criteria.
These two stages of HBT is powered by the “Business Value Understanding” discipline of STEM.
This discipline consists of about ten major steps with seven scientific concepts to enable
understanding of expectations in a scientific manner.
