How is school today? How could it be
changing in the future? Will it be
more stimulating, more technological
and more open to the students’
needs?
How will the learning process be
then?
LET’S TRY TO IMAGINE…
TEACHERS:
TODAY TEACHERS WORK WITH
QUITE BIG GROUPS OF STUDENTS.
TYPICAL LESSONS IN OUR CLASSES
ARE TRADITIONAL ONES, WITH
TEACHERS SITTING AT THE TABLE
AND STUDENTS LISTENING AND
TAKING NOTES. BUT WE MUST
SAY THERE ARE OTHERS WHO
TEACH IN A MORE INTERACTIVE
AND APPEALING WAY.
IN THE FUTURE TEACHERS WILL BE
REPLACED BY ROBOTS, BUT WILL IT BE
POSSIBLE TO WORK WITH ROBOTS?
WILL IT BE EASIER FOR STUDENTS TO
UNDERSTAND THE ROBOTS’ LESSONS
WITHOUT INTERACTING WITH THEM,
LIKE THEY DO NOW WITH THEIR
TEACHERS?
LEARNING TOOLS
STUDENTS STUDY MAINLY ON
BOOKS AND THEY CONSIDER THIS
WAY OF LEARNING OUT OF DATE.
MOREOVER BOOKS ARE OFTEN
VERY HEAVY, BUT THEY CAN’T
LEAVE THEM AT SCHOOL. THE
OTHER LEARNING TOOLS ARE
EXERCISE- BOOKS WHERE THEY
DO THEIR HOMEWORK AND TAKE
NOTES.
STUDENTS WILL STUDY WITH
TECHNOLOGICAL DEVICES. THEY WILL
HAVE A TABLET WITH INTERNET
CONNECTION WHICH WILL REPLACE
TRADITIONAL BOOKS. ALSO
TEACHERS WILL USE IT FOR CLASS
ACTIVITIES.
SCHOOL BUILDINGS
SCHOOL BUILDINGS TODAY ARE
QUITE OLD BECAUSE THEY WERE
BUILT IN THE 60s/70s. SINCE THEY
ARE OFTEN IN THE TOWN CENTRE,
THEY HAVEN’T GOT ENOUGH
PARKING SPACES. THEY ARE NOT
ENERGY EFFICIENT AND THEY
CONTRIBUTE TO POLLUTE THE
ENVIRONMENT.
IN THE FUTURE BUILDINGS WILL BE EQUIPPED
WITH SOLAR PANELS; THEY WILL BE ECOFRIENDLY
AND SELF-SUFFICIENT SO THEY WILL CUT COSTS.
TO GET TO SCHOOL STUDENTS AND TEACHERS
WILL USE ELECTRIC BUSES AND NO CARS OR
SCOOTERS WILL BE ADMITTED. TO CONTRIBUTE
TO ENERGY EFFICIENCY STUDENTS WILL BE
ASKED TO CYCLE SPECIAL BIKES IN THE SCHOOL-
GYM WHICH WILL PRODUCE ENERGY USED TO
HEAT THE SCHOOL BUILDINGS
CLASS EQUIPMENT
TODAY DESKS ARE IN WOOD AND
WITHOUT ANY TECHNOLOGICAL
DEVICE. CHAIRS ARE NOT
ERGONOMIC. IN EVERY CLASS THERE
ARE HISTORICAL AND
GEOGRAPHICAL MAPS AND
POSTERS. BLACKBOARDS AND
WHITEBOARDS ARE DIFFICULT TO
USE.
IN 30 YEARS DESKS WILL BE
REPLACED BY PORTABLE WORK
STATIONS WITH INTERNET
CONNECTION AND INTERACTIVE
TOOLS. CHAIRS WILL BE
ERGONOMIC. THE MAPS WILL BE
3D AND THE WALLS WILL PROVIDE
MAGNETIC, WRITING SURFACES
FOR LEARNING ACTIVITIES.
SCHOOL BREAKS
IN THE FUTURE DURING THE BREAKS
STUDENTS WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO
MEET AND RELAX IN A WI-FI OPEN SPACE
EQUIPPED WITH SOFAS AND A RESTAURANT
SELLING ONLY HEALTHY FOOD.
TODAY WE HAVE ONLY
VENDING MACHINES SELLING
COFFEE, DRINKS AND SNACKS.
SCHOOL BREAKS AREN’T
RELAXING AS THERE IS NO
DEDICATED AREA.
CLASSROOMS
IN THE FUTURE STUDENTS
WON’T BE STUCK AT A DESK, BUT
THEY WILL MOVE AROUND THE
ROOM TO USE ALL THE
AVAILABLE TECHNOLOGICAL
DEVICES. LABS WILL BE USED
EVERY DAY FOR PRACTICAL
ACTIVITIES.
NOW STUDENTS MUST ATTEND
LESSONS IN THEIR CLASSROOM AND
THEY MUST BE SEATED AT A DESK.
