2. Mother Cabrini was born on July 15, 1850. She was born in Sant’Angelo Lodigiano, Italy.
3. Mother Cabrini’s real name is Maria Francesca Cabrini. She is the youngest of thirteen children. Her parents’ names are Agostino Cabrini and Stella Oldini.
4. Mother Cabrini was certified as a teacher in 1868 at the age of 18. She began teaching at a public school in 1971.
5. In 1877, Mother Cabrini took her religious vows. She also added “Xavier” to her name to honor the Jesuit Priest, Francis Xavier.
6. Her feast days are November 13 and December 22. Mother Cabrini is the patron saint of immigrants and hospital administrators.
7. She died on December 22, 1917 in Chicago. Pope Pius XII canonized her as a saint on July 7, 1946.
