Fundada en 1891 en Reus, COMSA se centró
en sus inicios en trabajos de vía y renovación
de estaciones. Posteriormente, diversificó su

español de alta velocidad (línea Madrid-Sevilla)

Founded in 1891 in Reus, during its early years
COMSA focused on track work and station
renovation. Later it diversified its business
activities into other areas of civil engineering
and also initiated its expansion throughout
Spain. In the 1980s the company participated
in the first Spanish high-speed project

It uses advanced monitoring technologies that enable it to
keep a close control over soil deformations in sections of any
diameter, both in excavations by blasting and those using
mechanical methods, TBMs, tunnels between diaphragm walls
and jacked boxes.
In this area, the company also operates through Nortúnel, an
investee company specialized in tunnels construction and
underground works.

These include straight span or girder bridges and arched,
cable-stayed or suspension bridges.
The company uses the most modern materials such as
concrete, steel, mixed concrete and steel, FRP, as well as the
most common construction methods.
COMSA also builds by using prefabricated elements and
shoring systems. At the same time, it has experience in highly-
complex construction methods, such as bridge decks built
using girder launching, self-launching shoring, incremental
launching, among others.
