accomplish technology planning and
implementation goals
8. LOOKING AHEAD
Step 2: Work on liaisons between
building and district level technology
and information literacy services to
provide best practice implementation
to both staff and students.
(Investigate and Implement)
FOCUS ON YOUR BUILDING TECH PLAN –
THE COMMON AGENDA WILL PRESENT
STRATEGIES AND IDEAS FOR THAT
11. SOFTWARE/EQUIPMENT REQUEST
SYSTEM
WE ARE NOT HERE TO APPROVE / DISAPPROVE!
DISCUSSION FOCUS ON PROS / CONS / EXPERIENCES
WITH THE PRODUCT / RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE
REQUESTER
13. Core beliefs
• Curriculum supports the technology – not the other
way around
• Focus should be on Student Learning
Core Considerations
• If you need PD to integrate a new technology or software –
plan before purchase
• If you need PD operate a new technology or software – will
your focus still be on Student Learning?
Notes de l'éditeur
November meeting – refresh this idea by having a round table turn to the person on your left and introduce exchange names pick one of these three topics and discuss a concrete example of a way the LMT committee can affect the area: (investigate/implement: the committee could research/recommend ways to provide a valid 8th grade technology proficiency measurement) introduce each other when it is your turn and then tell us your concrete exampleThis is a year for planning and for addressing the District goal of ‘going global’.We’ve accomplished a lot tour Technology plan – see website This is the time to look to the future and set the stage for the next 5-10 years
Common agendas should help every building provide not only equal access to equipment, but equal access to learning for students and staff. Part of the building agenda should be to work towards developing a solid tech plan that evolves every year and guides purchases, pd, curriculum implementation, allocation of resources, administration and support
Implementation of curriculum, purchases, needed PD…. a cohesive technology plan that addresses allWhat are some of the areas your tech plan should cover?
Focus on student learningGetting new equipment is not the focusPD should be considered when planning to buy something
