The Individual Oral – 10 mn., 25%
To take place during the second year of the
programme, with some advance notice
Consist of three parts:
1. Presentation + Teacher’s questions based on
visual stimulus (1-2 mn., with 15 mn. preparation)
2. Teacher’s questions based on visual stimulus (2-3
mn.)
3. General Conversation between teacher and student
(4-5 mn., topics from core syllabus)
Must be a spontaneous conversation and not be
rehearsed.

The Individual Oral – 10 mn., 25%
MUST be recorded as samples will be requested for
moderation
Consist of three parts:
1.Presentation on stimulus
2.Follow-up questions
3.General conversation (Including two
questions on the Written Assignment).
Must be a spontaneous conversation and not be
rehearsed.

relevant information + ability to maintain
a conversation and to understand

Preparation for the Individual Oral
Description is a technique which can be taught
Should be integrated into the course as soon as
possible
Expose to a whole range of visual stimuli
Familiarize with prepositions of location
Try to make connections with the 3 themes
Practice description in every possible context
Encourage students to make personal connections
with the pictures
