RULES
1.	 This document contains the rules that you have to follow in order become and stay
a Connecta.
2.	 The most recent version of the Connecta rules will also be available from the
www.oldmutualconnecta.co.za (Connecta website). You are responsible for making sure
that you are familiar with the most recent version of the Connecta rules.
3.	 In order for you to better understand these Connecta rules, Old Mutual has explained the
following words:
3.1.	 “Arbitrator” is a person that will listen to any disagreement in connection with the Connecta
business. This person will try to resolve that disagreement, through a process called
arbitration and at the end, make a decision that must be followed by the disagreeing parties;
3.2.	 “Connecta earnings” means a method of calculating referral fees as shown in a document
marked “Connecta connecta earnings” attached to these Connecta rules and also
available from the Connecta website;
3.3.	 “Connecta” means a natural person who has successfully applied to become a member
of the Connecta business after reading and accepting the Connecta rules;
3.4.	 “Connecta business and paying a business support fee” means the Old Mutual business
opportunity based on multi level marketing as a method of promoting its products;
3.5.	 “Downline” means the Connectas that can be traced back to you as the Connecta who
caused them to join the Connecta business;
3.6.	 “Financial product” means Old Mutual products promoted through the Connecta business;
3.7.	 “Old Mutual” means Old Mutual Life Assurance Company (South Africa) Limited, a company
incorporated under the laws of the republic of South Africa, with registration number
1999/004643/06 and its principal place of business situated at number 1 Nelson
Mandela Drive, Pinelands, Cape Town;
3.8.	 “Parties” means you and Old Mutual.
3.9.	 “Personal information” means the personal information (as defined in the personal
Protection of Information Bill) and relates to the protection of personal information
belonging to South African citizens that is collected and processed by organisations; and
3.10.	 “You” means a person who is a Connecta.
3.11.	 Where a single form of a word is used, it may be understood to mean many and the other
way round;
3.12.	 If Old Mutual decided to extend any time limit or to do away with any rule in this document,
that doesn’t mean that Old Mutual will extend the time limit or do away with the same rule
in future.
3.13.	 If any part of this document is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, that part will be
removed and the rest of this document will apply.
3.14.	 When calculating any number of days stated in this document, one will exclude the first
and include the last day, unless the last day falls on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday
in South Africa.
4.	 What does being a Connecta mean?
4.1.	 Your main function as a Connecta is to recruit potential Connectas and refer Old Mutual
products to people.
4.2.	 You will remain a Downline to the Connecta who introduced you to the Connecta business
after that Connecta is no longer a member of the Connecta business.
4.3.	 You can only reapply to become a Connecta again after 6 months if your Connecta
membership is cancelled, or you ask for it to be cancelled.
4.4.	 You are not allowed to have more than one Connecta membership at the same time.
4.5.	 As a Connecta, you are responsible for all costs in recruiting and performing your
Connecta function.
4.6.	 You are able to request Old Mutual to change your position in the Connecta business.
4.7.	 You are an independent contractor and not an Old Mutual worker / employee /
agent / partner.
4.8.	 Nothing in the Connecta rules should be understood to mean that you are a worker /
employee / agent / partner / representative of Old Mutual.
4.9.	 You are your own boss and your Downline is your business.
4.10.	 You cannot make any promise or sign any contract on behalf of Old Mutual.
4.11.	 You cannot claim any worker’s or employee’s benefits from Old Mutual for things like
maternity leave, leave, salary increase, medical aid, salary, wage, time-off, overtime
and so on.
5.	 Paying your monthly business support fee
5.1.	 In order to become and remain a Connecta, you will pay a monthly business support fee
that will cover the cost of managing the Connecta business.
5.2.	 Your monthly business support fee will be debited from your bank account number that
you provide when applying to become a Connecta. The Connecta business support fee
is not refundable.
5.3.	 By completing the Connecta application form, you agree to give Old Mutual permission
to debit the monthly business support fee from the bank account number.
5.4.	 Before Old Mutual debits your bank account for business support fee, it will first check to
see if it owes you enough referral fees to cover the monthly business support fee and deduct
the business support fee from those referral fees.
5.5.	 You will not be paid any referral fees or bonuses if you owe any business support fees.
During this time you can continue performing your Connecta function, but your referral fees
will be held back until your business support fees are paid up to date.
5.6.	 You must make sure that you always have enough money in your bank account to cover
the business support fee amount on the day that you have selected for us to debit your
bank account for business support fee, as Old Mutual will not be responsible for any
charges that your bank will charge for your failed debit orders.
5.7.	 Only Old Mutual can decide to change the business support fee amount after giving you
30 days notice.
5.8.	 If you fail to pay your first and second month business support fee, your Connecta
membership will be suspended until Old Mutual receives all outstanding business support fees.
5.9.	 Your Connecta membership will automatically be cancelled if Old Mutual does not receive
your first 3 business support fees.
6.	 Financial products accessible through the Connecta business
6.1.	 There are financial products that will be accessible through the Connecta business.
6.2.	 From time to time, Old Mutual can change, add or remove these financial products, but it
will inform you in writing or on the Connecta website 30 days before doing so.
6.3.	 A Connecta is not allowed to give advice or sell any financial products accessible through
the Connecta business.
7.	 What are referral fees, bonuses and incentives?
7.1.	 A referral fee is an amount of money that Old Mutual will pay you after Old Mutual has
received premiums from your Downline through the Connecta business and your business
support fee is paid up to date.
7.2.	 Referral fees are calculated according to connecta earnings.
7.3.	 You may receive bonuses in addition to the monthly referral fees for meeting targets that
Old Mutual will set for you from time to time.
7.4.	 Old Mutual will deposit your referral fees on the 25th day of the month following
the month those fees were earned, into the same bank account that old mutual debits your
business support fees.
7.5.	 Old Mutual will post your monthly referral fee statement to an address chosen by you or
you can access your statement on the Connecta website.
7.6.	 You have the responsibility to check that the referral fee amount shown in your referral fee
statement is correct and if it is not, you must report it to us within 30 days after receiving
that statement. Old Mutual will not reverse or correct paid referral fees.
7.7.	 You will not earn any interest on referral fees that Old Mutual owes to you.
7.8.	 It is your responsibility to report the amount you have earned as referral fees to the South
African Receiver of Revenues Services (SARS).
7.9.	 Old Mutual reserves the right to change the connecta earnings by giving the you 30 day
prior notice.
7.10.	 Only Old Mutual can decide to change the connecta earnings by informing you through
the Connecta website or sending you a letter.
7.11.	 CV is a percentage of a premium that Old Mutual makes available for Connectas to
earn. The allocated amount is 80% of all Old Mutual Connecta product premiums
for the first 12 premiums paid.
8.	 Your responsibilities as a Connecta
8.1.	 By completing and signing the Connecta application form, you state that you:
8.1.1.	 Are in possession of a valid South African Identity Document;
8.1.2.	 Are 18 years of age or older; and
8.1.3.	 Have read and understand the Connecta rules contained in this document.
8.2.	 You agree to:
8.2.1.	 Be bound by all the laws and regulations of Republic of South Africa that affect the
Connecta business;
8.2.2.	 Always be up to date with the Connecta rules;
8.2.3.	 Get permission from Old Mutual before you can use other methods other than those in the
Connecta brochure to perform your Connecta functions.
8.2.4.	 Keep confidential information a secret and do not tell or show it to any company that may
reasonably be believed to be in competition with the Connecta business.
8.3.	 You agree not to:
8.3.1.	 Take any action, including legal action against any person in connection with the Connecta
business without first getting permission from Old Mutual;
8.3.2.	 Use the Old Mutual’s name or logo (sign) for anything not related to the Connecta business;

8.3.3.	 Pretend or act as an Old Mutual worker / employee / agent / partner / representative;
8.3.4.	 Change the Connecta promotional material;
8.3.5.	 Cause any Old Mutual worker to resign from Old Mutual and join another multi level
marketing network;
8.3.6.	 Cause another Connecta to cancel his / her Connecta membership for any reason;
8.3.7.	 Perform any Connecta function in a way that may be misleading, forceful,
false, intimidating;
8.3.8.	 Cause another Connecta not to pay his / her business support fee;
8.3.9.	 Cause another Connecta not to pay his / her premium;
8.3.10.	Pay another Connecta’s premium if that Connecta has Connecta financial products;
8.3.11.	 Introduce Connectas in any way that, in our reasonable opinion, is likely to cause loss or
damage to any Old Mutual brand.
9.	 Connectas are not allowed to give financial advice
9.1.	 As a Connecta you are not allowed to:
9.1.1.	 Recommend, guide, propose to any person to buy or invest in a financial product;
9.1.2.	 Cause any person to get a loan, owe money or get a benefit from any financial product;
9.1.3.	 Cause any person to change the terms and conditions, replace, cancel any
financial product;
9.1.4.	 Cause any person to enter into an agreement with Old Mutual to buy, sell, maintain,
service, deal, manage, administrate or keep a financial product bought or invested by
that person / customer;
9.1.5.	 Collect or record premiums or any money paid to Old Mutual for a financial product; or
9.1.6.	 Receive, submit or process claims on behalf of any person against Old Mutual.
9.2.	 You may only explain the process of buying and describing a financial product, displaying
and distributing promotional material.
9.3.	 Old Mutual will cancel your Connecta membership if Old Mutual finds out that you have
been giving financial advice, and you will lose all referral fees, bonuses and incentives
that would have been payable to you.
10.	 Cancelling your Connecta membership
10.1.	 Old Mutual may cancel your Connecta membership if it believes that you have:
10.1.1.	 Lied about any information in connection with the Connecta business;
10.1.2.	Not followed any Connecta rules;
10.1.3.	Done or failed to do something that can cause damage to the name and standing
of Old Mutual;
10.1.4.	Done or failed to do something that could cause Old Mutual loss of money;
10.1.5.	Given financial advice;
10.1.6.	Committed fraud in connection with the Connecta business;
10.1.7.	Been warned about not following the Connecta rules and you are still not following
these rules;
10.1.8.	Used the name Old Mutual in matters not related to the Connecta business without Old
Mutual’s permission.
10.2.	 Only Old Mutual can decide, after investigating claims about your failure to follow the
Connecta rules, to suspend or cancel your Connecta membership and on how long to
suspend your Connecta membership.
10.3.	 You will not receive any referral fees, bonuses or incentives after cancellation of your
Connecta membership for.
10.4.	 You will be paid referral fees calculated up to the date when your Connecta membership
is cancelled.
10.5.	 You or Old Mutual can cancel your Connecta membership by giving a 30 day written
notice to the other party for any reason.
11.	 What happens should you die while you are a Connecta?
11.1.	 Your Connecta membership will automatically cancel once Old Mutual receives notification
of your death.
11.2.	 You may choose a person to take your Connecta position should you die while being a
Connecta, on the condition that they accept the Connecta rules.
12.	 Sending and receiving documents
12.1.	 Documents addressed to the Connecta business should be addressed to Connecta
Manager, at Mutualpark, Jan Smuts Drive, Pinelands, 7405.
12.2.	 Documents for your attention will be sent to the address you chose in your Connecta
application form.
12.3.	 Any notice that is sent by post will be deemed to have been received the day it
was posted.
12.4.	 All court documents regarding the Connecta business should be sent to the address
mentioned in 12.1 above.
13.	 Information that should not be shared with anyone who is not a Connecta
13.1.	 Confidential information is any information that is private or sensitive and if shown or shared
with another multi level marketing network can cause the Connecta business to lose its
competitive advantage.
13.2.	 As a Connecta you will have access to confidential information in connection with the
Connecta business and you agree:
13.2.1.	To keep such confidential information secret and not to share or show it to any person
without our written approval from Old Mutual;
13.2.2.	Not to make any copies of any materials containing the confidential information, without
Old Mutual’s written permission.
13.2.3.	To use the confidential information solely for the Connecta business;
13.3.	 On cancelling your Connecta membership, you must return, destroy, or delete any material
containing such confidential information.
13.4.	 You will be responsible for keeping confidential information confidential and will
take all reasonable measures to stop any unlawful showing or sharing of such
confidential information.
14.	 Method of resolving disagreements in connection with the Connecta business
14.1.	 In the event of any disagreement between you and Old Mutual relating to the Connecta
rules, a disagreement notice must be sent within 30 days using, fax, letter or email to the
other party with full facts of the disagreement.
14.2.	 After receiving the disagreement notice, the parties will meet as soon as reasonably
possible and try to solve the disagreement.
14.3.	 Any party may ask that a disagreement be sent to arbitration by giving written notice to
that effect to the other party.
14.4.	 If the parties fail to solve the disagreement within 14 business days from the date the
disagreement notice was received, then either party can send the matter to an arbitrator
who will conduct an arbitration in terms of the rules of the Arbitration Foundation of
Southern Africa (“the Arbitration Foundation”).
14.5.	 The arbitration will be held and concluded in 21 business days after it was requested.
14.6.	 The arbitrator will be an independent and experienced person approved by the parties.
14.7.	 The arbitration process doesn’t stop any party from taking a disagreement regarding the
Connecta business to a South African Court of Law.
14.8.	 The arbitration will be held at Cape Town and in english.
15.	 General information about the Connecta business
15.1.	 The parties agree to be honest in working with each other.
15.2.	 Old Mutual and its staff will not be responsible for any loss, damages, injury, or death
caused by a Connecta in performing any obligation in this document.
15.3.	 Old Mutual has the right to change, add or delete any Connecta rule.
15.4.	 You agree not to hold Old Mutual responsible for any loss or damage caused by your
carelessness / negligence in performing Connecta functions.
15.5.	 You may only look for and introduce people who want to become Connectas in the
Republic of South Africa.
15.6.	 You agree to give Old Mutual permission to use your personal information only in relation
to the Connecta business and to contact you in order to inform you of financial products
accessible through such a business.
15.7.	 Only Old Mutual can decide whether to change your position as a Connecta business.
15.8.	 All copies of Connecta business promotional and marketing material will always remain
the property of Old Mutual.

  • 17. Connecta PAGE 3 OF 4 RULES 1. This document contains the rules that you have to follow in order become and stay a Connecta. 2. The most recent version of the Connecta rules will also be available from the www.oldmutualconnecta.co.za (Connecta website). You are responsible for making sure that you are familiar with the most recent version of the Connecta rules. 3. In order for you to better understand these Connecta rules, Old Mutual has explained the following words: 3.1. “Arbitrator” is a person that will listen to any disagreement in connection with the Connecta business. This person will try to resolve that disagreement, through a process called arbitration and at the end, make a decision that must be followed by the disagreeing parties; 3.2. “Connecta earnings” means a method of calculating referral fees as shown in a document marked “Connecta connecta earnings” attached to these Connecta rules and also available from the Connecta website; 3.3. “Connecta” means a natural person who has successfully applied to become a member of the Connecta business after reading and accepting the Connecta rules; 3.4. “Connecta business and paying a business support fee” means the Old Mutual business opportunity based on multi level marketing as a method of promoting its products; 3.5. “Downline” means the Connectas that can be traced back to you as the Connecta who caused them to join the Connecta business; 3.6. “Financial product” means Old Mutual products promoted through the Connecta business; 3.7. “Old Mutual” means Old Mutual Life Assurance Company (South Africa) Limited, a company incorporated under the laws of the republic of South Africa, with registration number 1999/004643/06 and its principal place of business situated at number 1 Nelson Mandela Drive, Pinelands, Cape Town; 3.8. “Parties” means you and Old Mutual. 3.9. “Personal information” means the personal information (as defined in the personal Protection of Information Bill) and relates to the protection of personal information belonging to South African citizens that is collected and processed by organisations; and 3.10. “You” means a person who is a Connecta. 3.11. Where a single form of a word is used, it may be understood to mean many and the other way round; 3.12. If Old Mutual decided to extend any time limit or to do away with any rule in this document, that doesn’t mean that Old Mutual will extend the time limit or do away with the same rule in future. 3.13. If any part of this document is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, that part will be removed and the rest of this document will apply. 3.14. When calculating any number of days stated in this document, one will exclude the first and include the last day, unless the last day falls on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday in South Africa. 4. What does being a Connecta mean? 4.1. Your main function as a Connecta is to recruit potential Connectas and refer Old Mutual products to people. 4.2. You will remain a Downline to the Connecta who introduced you to the Connecta business after that Connecta is no longer a member of the Connecta business. 4.3. You can only reapply to become a Connecta again after 6 months if your Connecta membership is cancelled, or you ask for it to be cancelled. 4.4. You are not allowed to have more than one Connecta membership at the same time. 4.5. As a Connecta, you are responsible for all costs in recruiting and performing your Connecta function. 4.6. You are able to request Old Mutual to change your position in the Connecta business. 4.7. You are an independent contractor and not an Old Mutual worker / employee / agent / partner. 4.8. Nothing in the Connecta rules should be understood to mean that you are a worker / employee / agent / partner / representative of Old Mutual. 4.9. You are your own boss and your Downline is your business. 4.10. You cannot make any promise or sign any contract on behalf of Old Mutual. 4.11. You cannot claim any worker’s or employee’s benefits from Old Mutual for things like maternity leave, leave, salary increase, medical aid, salary, wage, time-off, overtime and so on. 5. Paying your monthly business support fee 5.1. In order to become and remain a Connecta, you will pay a monthly business support fee that will cover the cost of managing the Connecta business. 5.2. Your monthly business support fee will be debited from your bank account number that you provide when applying to become a Connecta. The Connecta business support fee is not refundable. 5.3. By completing the Connecta application form, you agree to give Old Mutual permission to debit the monthly business support fee from the bank account number. 5.4. Before Old Mutual debits your bank account for business support fee, it will first check to see if it owes you enough referral fees to cover the monthly business support fee and deduct the business support fee from those referral fees. 5.5. You will not be paid any referral fees or bonuses if you owe any business support fees. During this time you can continue performing your Connecta function, but your referral fees will be held back until your business support fees are paid up to date. 5.6. You must make sure that you always have enough money in your bank account to cover the business support fee amount on the day that you have selected for us to debit your bank account for business support fee, as Old Mutual will not be responsible for any charges that your bank will charge for your failed debit orders. 5.7. Only Old Mutual can decide to change the business support fee amount after giving you 30 days notice. 5.8. If you fail to pay your first and second month business support fee, your Connecta membership will be suspended until Old Mutual receives all outstanding business support fees. 5.9. Your Connecta membership will automatically be cancelled if Old Mutual does not receive your first 3 business support fees. 6. Financial products accessible through the Connecta business 6.1. There are financial products that will be accessible through the Connecta business. 6.2. From time to time, Old Mutual can change, add or remove these financial products, but it will inform you in writing or on the Connecta website 30 days before doing so. 6.3. A Connecta is not allowed to give advice or sell any financial products accessible through the Connecta business. 7. What are referral fees, bonuses and incentives? 7.1. A referral fee is an amount of money that Old Mutual will pay you after Old Mutual has received premiums from your Downline through the Connecta business and your business support fee is paid up to date. 7.2. Referral fees are calculated according to connecta earnings. 7.3. You may receive bonuses in addition to the monthly referral fees for meeting targets that Old Mutual will set for you from time to time. 7.4. Old Mutual will deposit your referral fees on the 25th day of the month following the month those fees were earned, into the same bank account that old mutual debits your business support fees. 7.5. Old Mutual will post your monthly referral fee statement to an address chosen by you or you can access your statement on the Connecta website. 7.6. You have the responsibility to check that the referral fee amount shown in your referral fee statement is correct and if it is not, you must report it to us within 30 days after receiving that statement. Old Mutual will not reverse or correct paid referral fees. 7.7. You will not earn any interest on referral fees that Old Mutual owes to you. 7.8. It is your responsibility to report the amount you have earned as referral fees to the South African Receiver of Revenues Services (SARS). 7.9. Old Mutual reserves the right to change the connecta earnings by giving the you 30 day prior notice. 7.10. Only Old Mutual can decide to change the connecta earnings by informing you through the Connecta website or sending you a letter. 7.11. CV is a percentage of a premium that Old Mutual makes available for Connectas to earn. The allocated amount is 80% of all Old Mutual Connecta product premiums for the first 12 premiums paid. 8. Your responsibilities as a Connecta 8.1. By completing and signing the Connecta application form, you state that you: 8.1.1. Are in possession of a valid South African Identity Document; 8.1.2. Are 18 years of age or older; and 8.1.3. Have read and understand the Connecta rules contained in this document. 8.2. You agree to: 8.2.1. Be bound by all the laws and regulations of Republic of South Africa that affect the Connecta business; 8.2.2. Always be up to date with the Connecta rules; 8.2.3. Get permission from Old Mutual before you can use other methods other than those in the Connecta brochure to perform your Connecta functions. 8.2.4. Keep confidential information a secret and do not tell or show it to any company that may reasonably be believed to be in competition with the Connecta business. 8.3. You agree not to: 8.3.1. Take any action, including legal action against any person in connection with the Connecta business without first getting permission from Old Mutual; 8.3.2. Use the Old Mutual’s name or logo (sign) for anything not related to the Connecta business;
  • 18. Connecta PAGE 4 OF 4 Old Mutual is a Licensed Financial Services Provider. 8.3.3. Pretend or act as an Old Mutual worker / employee / agent / partner / representative; 8.3.4. Change the Connecta promotional material; 8.3.5. Cause any Old Mutual worker to resign from Old Mutual and join another multi level marketing network; 8.3.6. Cause another Connecta to cancel his / her Connecta membership for any reason; 8.3.7. Perform any Connecta function in a way that may be misleading, forceful, false, intimidating; 8.3.8. Cause another Connecta not to pay his / her business support fee; 8.3.9. Cause another Connecta not to pay his / her premium; 8.3.10. Pay another Connecta’s premium if that Connecta has Connecta financial products; 8.3.11. Introduce Connectas in any way that, in our reasonable opinion, is likely to cause loss or damage to any Old Mutual brand. 9. Connectas are not allowed to give financial advice 9.1. As a Connecta you are not allowed to: 9.1.1. Recommend, guide, propose to any person to buy or invest in a financial product; 9.1.2. Cause any person to get a loan, owe money or get a benefit from any financial product; 9.1.3. Cause any person to change the terms and conditions, replace, cancel any financial product; 9.1.4. Cause any person to enter into an agreement with Old Mutual to buy, sell, maintain, service, deal, manage, administrate or keep a financial product bought or invested by that person / customer; 9.1.5. Collect or record premiums or any money paid to Old Mutual for a financial product; or 9.1.6. Receive, submit or process claims on behalf of any person against Old Mutual. 9.2. You may only explain the process of buying and describing a financial product, displaying and distributing promotional material. 9.3. Old Mutual will cancel your Connecta membership if Old Mutual finds out that you have been giving financial advice, and you will lose all referral fees, bonuses and incentives that would have been payable to you. 10. Cancelling your Connecta membership 10.1. Old Mutual may cancel your Connecta membership if it believes that you have: 10.1.1. Lied about any information in connection with the Connecta business; 10.1.2. Not followed any Connecta rules; 10.1.3. Done or failed to do something that can cause damage to the name and standing of Old Mutual; 10.1.4. Done or failed to do something that could cause Old Mutual loss of money; 10.1.5. Given financial advice; 10.1.6. Committed fraud in connection with the Connecta business; 10.1.7. Been warned about not following the Connecta rules and you are still not following these rules; 10.1.8. Used the name Old Mutual in matters not related to the Connecta business without Old Mutual’s permission. 10.2. Only Old Mutual can decide, after investigating claims about your failure to follow the Connecta rules, to suspend or cancel your Connecta membership and on how long to suspend your Connecta membership. 10.3. You will not receive any referral fees, bonuses or incentives after cancellation of your Connecta membership for. 10.4. You will be paid referral fees calculated up to the date when your Connecta membership is cancelled. 10.5. You or Old Mutual can cancel your Connecta membership by giving a 30 day written notice to the other party for any reason. 11. What happens should you die while you are a Connecta? 11.1. Your Connecta membership will automatically cancel once Old Mutual receives notification of your death. 11.2. You may choose a person to take your Connecta position should you die while being a Connecta, on the condition that they accept the Connecta rules. 12. Sending and receiving documents 12.1. Documents addressed to the Connecta business should be addressed to Connecta Manager, at Mutualpark, Jan Smuts Drive, Pinelands, 7405. 12.2. Documents for your attention will be sent to the address you chose in your Connecta application form. 12.3. Any notice that is sent by post will be deemed to have been received the day it was posted. 12.4. All court documents regarding the Connecta business should be sent to the address mentioned in 12.1 above. 13. Information that should not be shared with anyone who is not a Connecta 13.1. Confidential information is any information that is private or sensitive and if shown or shared with another multi level marketing network can cause the Connecta business to lose its competitive advantage. 13.2. As a Connecta you will have access to confidential information in connection with the Connecta business and you agree: 13.2.1. To keep such confidential information secret and not to share or show it to any person without our written approval from Old Mutual; 13.2.2. Not to make any copies of any materials containing the confidential information, without Old Mutual’s written permission. 13.2.3. To use the confidential information solely for the Connecta business; 13.3. On cancelling your Connecta membership, you must return, destroy, or delete any material containing such confidential information. 13.4. You will be responsible for keeping confidential information confidential and will take all reasonable measures to stop any unlawful showing or sharing of such confidential information. 14. Method of resolving disagreements in connection with the Connecta business 14.1. In the event of any disagreement between you and Old Mutual relating to the Connecta rules, a disagreement notice must be sent within 30 days using, fax, letter or email to the other party with full facts of the disagreement. 14.2. After receiving the disagreement notice, the parties will meet as soon as reasonably possible and try to solve the disagreement. 14.3. Any party may ask that a disagreement be sent to arbitration by giving written notice to that effect to the other party. 14.4. If the parties fail to solve the disagreement within 14 business days from the date the disagreement notice was received, then either party can send the matter to an arbitrator who will conduct an arbitration in terms of the rules of the Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa (“the Arbitration Foundation”). 14.5. The arbitration will be held and concluded in 21 business days after it was requested. 14.6. The arbitrator will be an independent and experienced person approved by the parties. 14.7. The arbitration process doesn’t stop any party from taking a disagreement regarding the Connecta business to a South African Court of Law. 14.8. The arbitration will be held at Cape Town and in english. 15. General information about the Connecta business 15.1. The parties agree to be honest in working with each other. 15.2. Old Mutual and its staff will not be responsible for any loss, damages, injury, or death caused by a Connecta in performing any obligation in this document. 15.3. Old Mutual has the right to change, add or delete any Connecta rule. 15.4. You agree not to hold Old Mutual responsible for any loss or damage caused by your carelessness / negligence in performing Connecta functions. 15.5. You may only look for and introduce people who want to become Connectas in the Republic of South Africa. 15.6. You agree to give Old Mutual permission to use your personal information only in relation to the Connecta business and to contact you in order to inform you of financial products accessible through such a business. 15.7. Only Old Mutual can decide whether to change your position as a Connecta business. 15.8. All copies of Connecta business promotional and marketing material will always remain the property of Old Mutual.
