This was the CO150 presentation I used at the beginning of class during the fall of 2004. I chose this topic to get students interested in the idea of registering to vote in the November election. When the deadline to register had passed, the relevance went down, and students commented that they wish they had heard some of the statistics I mentioned sooner. All of this was by way of example for students choosing a topic from what they are interested in, and using a variety of keywords when searching for that topic in a database.
