FACTS WHAT DOES THE STUDENT LOAN ALLIANCE DO WITH YOUR PERSONAL
INFORMATION?
Why?
Financial companies choose how they share your personal information. Federal law gives
consumers the right to limit some but not all sharing. Federal law also requires us to tell you how
we collect, share, and protect your personal information. Please read this notice carefully to
understand what we do.
What? The types of personal information we collect and share depend on the product or service you have
with us. This information can include:
Social Security number
employment information
credit card or other debt
student loan payments
Income and expense
assets and liabilities
medical debt
credit history and credit scores
When you are no longer our customer, we continue to share your information as described in this
notice.
How? All financial companies need to share customers’ personal information to run their everyday
business. In the section below, we list the reasons financial companies can share their customers’
personal information; the reasons the Student Loan Alliance chooses to share; and whether you
can limit this sharing.

What we do
How does the Student Loan
Alliance protect my personal
information?
To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we
use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include
computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.
Also, the Student Loan Alliance and our member counseling agencies allow
employees, authorized service providers and other parties as required or
permitted by law to access your information.
How does the Student Loan
Alliance collect my personal

We also may collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus,
other counseling agencies, mortgage servicers, and other companies.
Why can’t I limit all sharing? Federal law gives you the right to limit only
sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes—information about your
creditworthiness
affiliates from using your information to market to you
sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you
State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.
Definitions
Affiliates Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and
nonfinancial companies.
The Student Loan Alliance does not presently have affiliates.
Nonaffiliates Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and
nonfinancial companies.
The Student Loan Alliance does not share information with nonaffiliates so they
can market to you.
Joint marketing A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market
financial products or services to you.
Our joint marketing partners include members of our alliance of counseling
agencies. See “Other important information” for details.

The Student Loan Alliance of counseling agencies includes Springboard Nonprofit Consumer Credit Management, Inc.,
Credit Counseling Service of Greater Dallas, Inc., Consumer Credit Counseling Service of San Francisco, Money
Management International, Inc., Take Charge America, Inc., CredAbility, Garden State Consumer Credit Counseling, Inc.
d/b/a Novadebt, Greenpath, Inc. and Clearpoint Financial Solutions, Inc.
This privacy notice only pertains to the student loan counseling services provided to you by us. Members of our alliance
of counseling agencies may provide other services that are not subject to this privacy notice, or you may be referred to
another agency or agencies as appropriate that may be able to assist with particular concerns that have been identified.
Ask them for details. You are not obligated to use any of the services offered.
A counselor may answer questions and provide information, but not give legal or tax advice. If you would like legal or tax
advice, a referral for appropriate assistance can be provided.

Vermont: In accordance with Vermont law, we will not share information we collect about Vermont residents with
companies outside of our alliance, except as permitted by law, such as with your consent, to service your accounts or to
other financial institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements.
California: In accordance with California law, we will not share information we collect about you with companies outside of
the Student Loan Alliance, unless the law allows. For example, we may share information with your consent, to service
your accounts. We will limit sharing among our companies to the extent required by California law.
The Student Loan Alliance’s products and services are subject to specific terms and conditions, which may include
authorizations and consents to share your personal information, including with your creditors.
