be undertaking. Careful planning and preparation at the pre-production stage will allow you to check that
you have everything in place to monitor and control the production process itself and should alert you to
any potential problem areas that you may face.
Before looking at each stage of the pre-production process in detail it is a good idea to get an overview of
the sorts of things that you will need to consider to make sure your production is a success.
Below is a list of the key elements that you will need to investigate for this unit in relation to your chosen
area of production work.

Choose a production project which you are planning to undertake in one of your practical units. Consider
