Growing up in a youth academy in soccer is a thrilling opportunity, hard work, and a tumultuous road. Futbol academies around the world invest in the brightest potential athletes, some as young as 5 and 6, to potentially prepare for the world stage. Only a few make it to the top. The U.S. launched their youth academy several years ago with plans to develop more talent for world competition.
