1. OXFORD HIGH SCHOOL MEDIA CENTER
Monthly Report for December/January
2010-2011
DANA BOLLE, MEDIA SPECIALIST
KIM MCISAAC, MEDIA CENTER ASSISTANT
2. December/January Highlights
Our inventory was completed for the non-fiction section of the media center, we will
now focus more on the biography and reference sections. As we have completed the
inventory we have worked on weeding out some of the outdated or more worn out
books.
Language Arts classes have been working on research papers and many of the teachers
have been bringing their students down to the media center to look for resources. I
have put together an Evaluating Resources Checklist for students to use as a reference
when looking for good online resources. We also talked about using databases on
mel.org and Grolier to get more academic sources. My presentations are located HERE
and HERE.
We have also been working on putting together IB lists for different subject areas that
includes books available in the media center, online resources, magazines, and
databases that are associated with that subject. These will be posted on the IB
Resources Wiki. This will be getting a facelift soon!
