  6. 6. CDM COURSE OVERVIEW Team teaching Teaching styles and questions may be different We have weekly meetings with the facilitators to review seminar and use rubrics to try to standardize things as best we can Use this as a learning opportunity for APPEs as each preceptor is going to be different Updates: Further changes to the course may need to be made, such as scheduling different rooms for the CDM seminar debates. I will be using the announcements section to keep you up to date. CDM course syllabi are similar throughout

  9. 9. SEMINAR HOMEWORK POLICIES •ALL assignments should be submitted via Canvas using the corresponding assignment links. •All assignments may be assessed via TurnItIn for plagiarism. Accepted formats include Word, PowerPoint, and PDF. •Directions: • Log on to Canvas and enter into the corresponding course page. • Click on the assignments tab on the left hand side of the Canvas page. • Once in assignment, click on the assignment that is due for that week. • Upload the assignment that is due. •Submission of ALL assignments should be completed individually in your own words and submitted via Canvas by 5pm 2 days following seminar (for example, if you have seminar on Wednesday your assignment is due by Friday at 5pm). On occasion, students will be asked to submit work prior to coming to seminar. This work will be due at 11:59 PM the day before the seminar (for example for a Wed seminar, you will need to submit work by Tuesday 11:59 PM). • After the deadline, the ability to submit to Canvas will be locked, and NO further submissions will be accepted • Do NOT contact your facilitator or course coordinator requesting credit for unsubmitted work or send it via email • Students who experience technical difficulties submitting work in Canvas are responsible to provide evidence (e.g., screen shots) proving the work has been completed before the deadline AND screen shots of error messages received AND ticket number of the report to the HELP desk. If all 3 are available, the facilitator and course coordinator will use their discretion in accepting the assignment via another mechanism. It is the student’s responsibility to obtain all 3 pieces of evidence as described above and submit it to the facilitator and course coordinator within an hour of the deadline. Requests that do not comply with this policy with not be reviewed. • The facilitator and/or course coordinators reserve the right to require an alternative deadline, which will be announced to the seminar as applicable. •Feedback regarding the patient case scenarios will be returned to the students by the following seminar session unless otherwise specified by the seminar facilitator. Feedback can be reviewed electronically by reading the comments in Canvas and the corresponding rubric. Note: Seminar homework feedback will not be released to students until all homework is graded. Dr. C will be regularly reminding the facilitators about their duty to grade and make every effort to get them graded in a timely manner.
