Final Presentation for the game Data Ward by Team Tremendous. Created throughout the 2013 Spring semester at Champlain College in our Game Production II class.
2. Data Ward brings the enjoyment of fast-paced arcade rounds to
couch gaming in a friendly, competitive game that forces players
to utilize strategy, memory, and resource management!
3. Geared towards arcade players (generally male) ages 13-35
Fast-paced rounds = arcade game (<5 mins)
Appeals to gamers who like:
◦ Puzzles
◦ Strategy games
◦ Stealth games
◦ Arcade games
◦ Competitive games (pvp)
Very accessible due to wide-distribution budget
(sold via XBLA, Steam, PSN, etc)
High replay-ability due to players creating their own levels/games
4. Data ward features a unique “asynchronous” style of
game-play in which both players play at
together, but performing separate roles to achieve
dominance over the other!
Offers the ability to customize levels each
round, ensuring a variety of gameplay!

Select Level and roles (P1 starts as security & P2 starts as
thief)
Security Player builds in Build Mode
Thief Player attempts to get to the end of the security
player’s level in Game Mode
Score Screen appears showing results! (Repeat)
7. The Character:
Through animation blending, we are able to create a more
fluid visual gaming experience. This allows phase shifting
during any action.
Phase shift effect achieved through a configurable "rim
shader" that gives the appearance of glowing
The Environment:
Each level created by security player. Fairness is ensured
through use of a sector polling system.
Build mode uses command pattern to create unlimited
undo/redo functionality
