Women in Bangladesh have made progress toward equality but still face challenges. An organization called Women for Women in Bangladesh, established in 1973, works to enhance women's status and end oppression through awareness, action, and research. In the 1980s, women had inferior status to men with traditional roles and limited access to opportunities. Today, the government reserves three parliamentary seats for women and they can run for other positions, but full equality has yet to be achieved.

2. A little about myself I, myself, am a self-acclaimed feminist. I believe that we need to keep working on the equality of men and women for many years to come. I hate to say it but it is likely that it is not going away anytime soon. For the future of my daughter as well as myself this is something I am passionate about and will never give up the fight.

They had very limited access to markets, productive services, education, healthcare, and local government. This lack of opportunity contributed to high fertility patterns. In turn led to malnourishment and poor health of children.

7. Bangladesh women today As you can see women are most definitely taking a stand in this day and age. Through an Act, the government reserved three seats for women only. This did not limit them from running and obtaining other positions.
