6. RELATION
C. tropicalis is a fungal type blastoconidia that
are in our organism for this reason they must
suffer adaptability to suit the environment in
which they live .
to survive had increased tolerance to stimuli
that is generated, They investigated the
possibility of presence in soil of such C.
tropicalis strains by pulsed field gel
electrophoresis (PFGE),
C. tropicalis exhibiting reduced susceptibility to
fluconazole from the human hosts and
environmental samples. Therefore, to prevent
patients from acquiring C. tropicalis with
reduced susceptibility to azoles, must be have
a prudent use of them to increase the
effectiveness of antifungal treatments
7. OBJETIVE
Investigate the presence in soil of C.Tropicalis strains
exhibiting reduced susceptibility to fluconazole and
perform a comparison with the human strains

1 gr de suelo
9 ml de agua esteril
Incubación

0.2 ml de suspension se a 24ºC

3 colonias fueron
recogidas
Todas las cepas de levaduras fueron
identificadas por la secuencias del dominio
D1/D2 de los genes LSU rRNA

14. SECUENCY
18 cepas exhiben sensibilidad reducida a
fluconazol

2 veces
17. RESULTADOS
Se analizaron 56 aislados de 26 muestras de suelo
de 477 muestras recogidas de los suelos entre
2006 y 2008 en Taiwán
Suelo contaminado de petróleo, campo de
agricultura, suelo pantanoso y bosques
Para diferenciar las múltiples cepas de una
muestra se tomaron 3 colonias individuales
representativas para el estudio
18. RESULTADOS
10 solo tenia 1 aislado de C. tropicalis
8 tenían 2 aislados de C. tropicalis
5 tenían 3 aislados de C. tropicalis
2 tenían 4 aislados de C. tropicalis
1 tenia 7 aislados de C. tropicalis
19. RESULTADOS
Todos fueron susceptibles a amfotericin B
Se uso fluconazol en 18 muestras
De estas 18, 17 recibieron voriconazol después de
48 h
Para determinar si los aislados con susceptibilidad
reducida de muestras de suelo se relacionaban
genéticamente con las humanas se uso PFGE
20. RESULTADOS
18 muestras: 11 del suelo y 7 humanas
11 de suelo: 6 susceptibilidad reducida y 5
susceptibles
7 humanas: todos susceptibilidad reducida
Humanas: YM990275, 490, 537, 579, 592, 649 and

27. CONCLUSIONS
Isolates with reduced suceptibility grow better under
influence of azole drugs
The human isolates share an electroforetic pattern
with soil isolates with reduced suceptibility
The suceptibles one didn’t have similar
electroforetic patterns with soil or human isolates
with reduced suceptibility
28. CONCLUSIONES
All humans strains shown reduced suceptibility to
fluconazo
Don't do treatments with long exposures to azoles
because it can cause a reduced suceptibility to the
treatment and bad results to it
