What to look for and how to manage your NEDs
This workshop will provide a useful overview of the value that can be added by NEDs
in small or early stage businesses, as well as talks on how to find and select NEDs
and how to manage your NEDs.
With expert commentary from the UK's leading NED advisor and panels of CEOs
and NEDs from relevant businesses, this highly interactive session will allow you to
gather insights from a diverse range of people with a wealth of experience to share.
If you are the Chair, Chief Executive, Finance Director or Company Secretary of a
growing business, or deeply involved with or advising one in your role as a
Technology Transfer professional, then this event will help you to understand how
you can assess the effectiveness of your company’s board and the value that
qualified independent non-executive directors can add.
Speakers include
David Doughty: Founder, NEDWorks, CEO Excellencia, chartered director and
highly experienced non-executive, chief executive, entrepreneur and business
mentor in SME in private, public and voluntary sectors, including the NHS.
Stuart Miller: An entrepreneur for over 18 years, Stuart is CEO and co-founder
of multi award-winning hypergrowth company, ByBox.
Heather White: CEO of the Non Exec Hub Ltd and a career and business
networking expert. One of her roles is to work with groups who are seeking to
develop their NED/Trustee careers.
Dr Neill Moray Mackenzie: Neill has served on the boards of larger companies,
VC-backed companies, spin-outs and more, including CMP Therapeutics Ltd, Roji
Ltd, Medigene AG, Avidex Ltd, Oxford BioMedica plc, BioMedica Inc and
Cambridge Genetics Ltd.
Professor Bryan Foss: Independent non-executive director, risk, audit and
remuneration chair, board and business development adviser, with multiple
public and privately back companies. Visiting Professor Bristol Business School.
