Introduction  Energy executive David Lawrence most recently served as the executive vice president of Exploration and Commercial at Shell Upstream Americas and Executive Vice Predident Global Exploration for Royal Dutch Shell. David Lawrence is also a frequent speaker at energy conferences such as the 2016 Symposium on Post-Paris COP 21 Carbon Policy at the University of Wyoming. The Symposium on Post-Paris COP 21 Carbon Policy refers to the global negotiations in Paris in late 2015, during which world leaders established a global agenda for carbon emission reduction.
  3. 2016 Symposium on Post-Paris  Together with several other on-campus organizations, the University of Wyoming Center for Global Studies and School of Energy Resources brought together leaders from academia, government, and industry to discuss the implications of Paris COP 21. The discussion, intended to spark a conversation about carbon policy in the UW community, was moderated by Jean Garrison, a professor of international studies and political science at the Center for Global Studies. In addition to Dr. Lawrence, guest panelists included Colorado State University professor Michele Betsill and Ricardo (“Rick”) Nogueira, head of the Climate Finance Team at the U.S. Department of State.
