3. AboutBPM Business Process Management (BPM) is doing any non core activity of company
cheaper, faster, and better from another company. The companies usually contact
third party companies also knows as vendors to do this job.
Example : - If you have a problem with your bike you don’t fix it yourself, you go to a
person who has the knowledge and some one can do it faster, better & cheaper.
This has however changed drastically over the course of time, now the companies
are looking at leveraging not just the cost benefit but also the excellent knowledge
and the expertise to enhance their companies performance and get the
competitive edge. The companies are no longer called vendors but partners who
provide better value to the customers, owners & shareholders. Small changes at the
partners side impact the overall performance of the company by a great deal.

Company owned units such
as American Express, General
Electric (GE) and Citibank,
etc. started the trend of
outsourcing to India in early
mid 90s . The industry then
was based on driving cost
effectiveness for companies
around the world. The
majority of the work was from
the lower-end of the value
chain namely customer
care/call center & data
entry.
Slowly organizations realized the
wealth of India’s talent pool of
educated young people. which
opened the doors to higher-end
work in Finance and Accounting,
Supply Chain Management,
Insurance Support, all kinds of IT
and Software Services, Medical
Support Services, Product Design
centers and Business Analytics.
Quality of service, adherence to
service level agreements and
world-class delivery of the work
sent to India led to further growth
