3. D & C 93: 29 O homem também estava no princípio com Deus. Inteligencias-Co-Eternas : “Se duas coisas existirem, e sendo uma mais do que outra, haverá coisas maiores acima dessa. * * * * * Se existirem dois espiritos, um será mais inteligente que o outro, no entanto estes dois espiritos, apesar de um ser mais inteligente que o outro, não têm início, eles existiram antes, não terão fim, eles existiram pois esles são gnolaum, ou eternos. Livro de Abraão cap. 3, 16, 18

8. DEUS ERA MAIS INTELIGENTE Deus deu a conhecer antigamente o poder pelo qual Ele é supremo sobre todas as inteligências que existem—o facto de que Ele é mais inteligente que todas as outras. Nos céus assim como na Terra é válido o aforismo de que conhecimento é Poder, desde que “conhecimento" signifique aplicação e não apenas a possessão mental da verdade. Numa revelação dada através de Joseph Smith o profeta, em 1833, o carácter da autoridade e poder divinos foi resumido de forma sublime: “A gória de Deus é inteligência ." ( D&C 93:36 .)

9. INTELIGÊNCIA QUE SALVA A inteligencia que salva compreende saber e fazer o que é requerido pelo Evangelho de Cristo, e tal inteligencia irá perdurar para além da morte. “Qualquer princípio de inteligência que alcançarmos nesta vida, surgirá connosco na ressurreição. E se nesta vida uma pessoa, por sua diligência e obediência, adquirir mais conhecimento e inteligencia do que outra, ela terá tanto mais vantagem no mundo futuro." (130:18, 19.) Inteligência para coisas divinas, que estão resumidas no Evangelho de Jesus Cristo, levam a um sempre maior entendimento e compreensão do próprio Deus e este é o conhecimento supremo; pois como o Cristo afirmou: " E a vida eterna é esta: que te conheçam, a ti só, por único Deus verdadeiro, e a Jesus Cristo, a quem enviaste .” ( João 17:3 )

10. O Profeta Joseph ensinou que os elementos físicos no Universo sempre existiram: “Os elementos são eternos”. Na tradução [com respeito à criação] . . . A palavra ‘criada' deveria ser 'formada,' ou 'organizada.' " 2 Deus não criou o mundo do nada ; foi organizado a partir de materiais e elementos já existentes. As escrituras não nos dizem qual a natureza e história destes elementos antes de terem sido organizados como parte desta terra, mas sabemos que Deus foi o poder pelo qual esta terra foi formada tal como é agora. 12. Brigham Young disse: “A inteligênci a contida numa pedra é qualitativamente, de certa forma, a mesma que é possuída pelo homem. Esta doutrina não permite a interpretação de que uma inteligência inferior, como a de um animal, possa um dia tornar-se na inteligência de um homem. “Permanece na esfera em que eu, Deus, a criei." Para fazer qualquer uma das partes constituintes de um animal, parte da inteligência de um homem, seria necessário desorganizar o animal para organizar os elementos em um homem e, portanto, começar de novo. 23. D & C 50 sobre CRESCER 24 Aquilo que é de Deus é luz ; e aquele que recebe luz e persevera em Deus recebe mais luz; e essa luz se torna mais e mais brilhante, até o dia perfeito. Até que te tornes perfeito como Jesus Cristo e Deus o Pai são perfeitos. Elder Hales disse aos missionários em Junho 2010: O dia perfeito é quando nos estivermos na presença de Deus e tiver-mos ganho luz suficiente para habitar na sua presença.

42. King Follett Discourse- What did Jesus do? What did Jesus do? Why, I do the things I saw my Father do when worlds came rolling into existence. My Father worked out His kingdom with fear and trembling, and I must do the same; and when I get my kingdom, I shall present it to My Father, so that He may obtain kingdom upon kingdom, and it will exalt Him in glory. He will then take a higher exaltation, and I will take His place, and thereby become exalted myself. So that Jesus treads in the tracks of His Father, and inherits what God did before ; and God is thus glorified and exalted in the salvation and exaltation of all His children. It is plain beyond disputation, and you thus learn some of the first principles of the gospel, about which so much hath been said. When you climb up a ladder, you must begin at the bottom, and ascend step by step, until you arrive at the top; and so it is with the principles of the gospel—you must begin with the first, and go on until you learn all the principles of exaltation . But it will be a great while after you have passed through the veil before you will have learned them. It is not all to be comprehended in this world; it will be a great work to learn our salvation and exaltation even beyond the grave

43. Elohim ( Eloheim ) Plurality of God. Paul says there are Gods many and Lords many; and that makes a plurality of Gods, in spite of the whims of all men. Without a revelation, I am not going to give them the knowledge of the God of heaven. You know and I testify that Paul had no allusion to the heathen gods. I have it from God, and get over it if you can. I have a witness of the Holy Ghost, and a testimony that Paul had no allusion to the heathen gods in the text. I will show from the Hebrew Bible that I am correct, and the first word shows a plurality of Gods; and I want the apostates and learned men to come here and prove to the contrary, if they can. An unlearned boy must give you a little Hebrew. Berosheit baurau Eloheim ait aushamayeen vehau auraits, rendered by King James' translators, "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." I want to analyze the word Berosheit. Rosh, the head; Sheit, a grammatical termination; the Baith was not originally put there when the inspired man wrote it, but it has been since added by an old Jew. Baurau signifies to bring forth; Eloheim is from the word Eloi, God, in the singular number; and by adding the word heim, it renders it Gods. It read first, "In the beginning the head of the Gods brought forth the Gods," or, as others have translated it, "The head of the Gods called the Gods together." I want to show a little learning as well as other fools— A little learning is a dangerous thing. Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring, There shallow draughts intoxicate the brain, And drinking largely sobers us up again. All this confusion among professed translators is for want of drinking another draught. PLURALITY OF GODS

44. Plurality of Gods -Smith, Joseph, Jr. The head God organized the heavens and the earth. I defy all the world to refute me. In the beginning the heads of the Gods organized the heavens and the earth. Now the learned priests and the people rage, and the heathen imagine a vain thing. If we pursue the Hebrew text further, it reads, "Berosheit baurau Eloheim ait aashamayeen vehau auraits" — "The head one of the Gods said, Let us make a man in our own image.“ I once asked a learned Jew, "If the Hebrew language compels us to render all words ending in heim in the plural , why not render the first Eloheim plural?" He replied, "That is the rule with few exceptions; but in this case it would ruin the Bible.“ He acknowledged I was right. I came here to investigate these things precisely as I believe them. Hear and judge for yourselves; and if you go away satisfied, well and good. In the very beginning the Bible shows there is a plurality of Gods beyond the power of refutation. It is a great subject I am dwelling on. The word Eloheim ought to be in the plural all the way through—Gods. The heads of the Gods appointed one God for us; and when you take {that} view of the subject, it sets one free to see all the beauty, holiness and perfection of the Gods. 46. President Joseph F. Smith stated this truth very clearly in a discourse in the Ogden Tabernacle in the year 1913, summing up this whole matter: 231Christ inherited his intelligence from his Father. There is a difference between knowledge and pure intelligence. Satan possesses knowledge, far more than we have, but he has not intelligence, or he would render obedience to the principles of truth and right. I know men who have knowledge, who understand the principles of the Gospel as well as you do, who are brilliant, but lack the essential qualification of pure intelligence. They will not accept and render obedience thereto. Pure intelligence comprises not only knowledge, but also the power to properly apply that knowledge .

47. In Section 50 of the Doctrine and Covenants I find a passage which has impressed me as much as any other passage of scripture. If this saying were the only truth revealed through the Prophet Joseph Smith, it would be sufficient to stamp him with the power of prophetic vision. It is one of the outstanding truths revealed for the salvation of man. It has been the means of helping me to be humble and to rejoice in the eternal truth of exaltation as that truth has been revealed. It has caused me to rejoice and thank the Lord for his mercy and goodness and for the hope of eternal life which has come to me. Here is what the Lord revealed: 94And that which doth not edify is not of God, and is darkness. 94That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day. 8

Alma 42: 13 Therefore, according to justice, the a plan of b redemption could not be brought about, only on conditions of repentance of men in this probationary state, yea, this preparatory state; for except it were for these conditions, mercy could not take effect except it should destroy the work of justice. How could there be a law save there was a punishment? 18 Now, there was a punishment affixed, and a just law given, which brought remorse of a conscience unto man. 19 Now, if there was no law given—if a man a murdered he should b die —would he be afraid he would die if he should murder? 20 And also, if there was no law given against sin men would not be afraid to sin. 21 And if there was a no law given, if men sinned what could justice do, or mercy either, for they would have no claim upon the creature? 22 But there is a law given, and a a punishment affixed, and a b repentance granted; which repentance, mercy claimeth; otherwise, justice claimeth the creature and executeth the c law , and the law inflicteth the punishment; if not so, the works of justice would be destroyed, and God would cease to be God. 23 But God ceaseth not to be God, and a mercy claimeth the penitent, and mercy cometh because of the b atonement ; and the atonement bringeth to pass the c resurrection of the dead; and the d resurrection of the dead bringeth e back men into the presence of God; and thus they are restored into his presence, to be f judged according to their works, according to the law and justice. 24 For behold, justice exerciseth all his demands, and also a mercy claimeth all which is her own; and thus, none but the truly penitent are saved. 25 What, do ye suppose that a mercy can rob b justice ? I say unto you, Nay; not one whit. If so, God would cease to be God.

49. "Man was also in the beginning with God. Intelligence, or the light of truth, was not created or made, neither indeed can be ." (Doc. & Cov., Sec. xciii, 29.) "I am dwelling on the immortality of the spirit of man. Is it logical to say that the intelligence of spirits is immortal, and yet that it (i. e. the intelligence) had a beginning. The intelligence of spirits had no beginning, neither will it have an end. That is good logic. That which has a beginning may have an end. There never was a time when there were no spirits(here intelligences), for they are co-equal (co-eternal) with our Father in heaven. * * * * * I take my ring from my finger and liken it unto the mind of man—the immortal part, because it has no beginning. Suppose you cut it in two; then it has a beginning and an end; but join it again and it continues one eternal round. So with the spirit of man. As the Lord liveth , if it had a beginning it will have an end. * * * * * Intelligence is eternal and exists upon a self-existent principle. D and C 19: 15 Therefore I command you to repent—repent, lest I smite you by the rod of my mouth, and by my wrath, and by my anger, and your sufferings be sore—how sore you know not, how exquisite you know not, yea, how hard to bear you know not. 16 For behold, I, God, have suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent ; 17 But if they would not repent they must suffer even as I; 18 Which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit—and would that I might not drink the bitter cup, and shrink— 19 Nevertheless, glory be to the Father, and I partook and finished my preparations unto the children of men.
