What have you learnt about
technologies from the process
of constructing the product?

2. Question 6
For our preliminary task and our final cut
short film we have used lots of different
technologies so that we could complete
both sequences to a good standard and
manage the technologies and get to know
how to use the applications properly.

3. Some of the good types of technologies that came
in very handy for us to use where Final Cut and
MPEG Stream clip. We needed to use MPEG stream
clip so that we could convert our filming, which was
done on a Sony HDD Handycam onto the Macs. We
used this application so that when we converted our
files onto this application we would receive some
sound and once we had them converted we could
import them to Final Cut and begin to edit. Final Cut
was vital for our videos because this is what we used
so that we could edit our filming and then arrange it
so that we could go on to piece it all together in
order to create the films.

4. Some of the online applications that we used included
Timetoast, YouTube, Blogger and Slide Share. We used
Timetoast so that we could keep updated with what we have
done, these included things such as when we would be
filming, meetings and other things such as hand in dates. We
used YouTube so that we could get some inspirations that we
could carry over into our own video so that we could learn
some of the common techniques used in horrors/thrillers. Slide
share was used so that we could convert our PowerPoint
presentations into a format in which they could be inserted
into a blogs so that we could show our teacher and our blog
followers the work that we had done. Blogger was used in our
process so that our teacher and we could record the work
that we have done over the course of the unit which helped
us keep track of what we had done and what we needed to
do. Finally we used Prezzi so that we could create some online
PowerPoint’s for some of the work or evaluations that we
needed to do, we felt as if all of these online applications all
came in very handy and helped us a lot in our work.

Tia also used Photoshop so that she could create the Hit List
title logo and she also used this application so that she could
create our company logo. She found using this application
easy as she has used it in the past. We learnt a lot from our
preliminary task in our new task as we new how to do a lot
more using all of these applications, and even doing some of
the simple stuff such as using the camera and some of the
camera shots involved. When we used all of the applications
second time round we managed to order stuff more quickly
and edit the clips that we filmed. If we where to ever make
another video or sequence we would be able to make it
better once again because we will have had more practice
and we would all be able to use the applications so we
wouldn’t always be relying on one person to be able to do
the work on the Macs.
