A Note from the Harp
Mother is
A gift that keeps on giving
For she is why you are living
She is why you are here in this world
She selflessly gave life to her boy or girl.
Mother is and was, your beginning, your start
You will always have a place in her heart
Because you began your journey next to its beat
Your heart kept in time to its rhythm so sweet
As your fingers took on form, and your toes took shape
Her feet and hands were moving preparing for that date.
As you came into this world and took your first breath
She had already given everything almost to death
Her sacrifice is often unmentioned, unnoticed
For independently of her we live, we exist
We make our own lives and plans in time
Yet mother is. She is and was my reason and rhyme.
So remember her and if you are blessed with this gift
Thank God up above that your
Mother is.

Looking Unto God
If Israel was to be successful in returning
from captivity, if the church is to be successful in our fulfill-
ing the Great Commission, and if we as individual Christians
are to succeed in living our lives faithfully to God, we must
keep our eyes on God! “Behold your God!” We need to see
God as He truly is.
First of all if we are to appreciate the God whom we
serve and upon whom we depend, we need to “see our God
as the God who has supremacy over nature.” In the 40th
chapter of Isaiah where Israel is commanded to “Behold
your God,” Isaiah speaks of God as He “Who hath meas-
ured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted
out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust
of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains
in scales, and the hills in a balance?” (40:12). These are
the things with which God challenged Job and Job could not
answer. God created nature and He has power over it. Just
notice what the Bible says about God’s power over His
creation. In Genesis 1:1-3 we read, “In the beginning God
created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was
without form, and void; and darkness was upon the
face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the
face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light:
and there was light” (KJV). The psalmist tells us more of
God’s power over the world of nature when he wrote, “For
he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which
lifteth up the waves thereof. 26 They mount up to the
heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is
melted because of trouble. 27 They reel to and fro, and
stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end.
28 Then they cry unto the LORD in their trouble, and he
bringeth them out of their distresses. 29 He maketh the
storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still” (KJV).
Then in Psalms 147:4 we are told that “He telleth the
number of the stars; he calleth them all by their
names.” The prophet Nahum also poke of the power of
God over nature when he recorded in Nahum 1:5, 6 “The
mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the
earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all
that dwell therein. 6 Who can stand before his indigna-
tion? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger?
his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown
down by him” (KJV).
When Jesus came to this world as God in the flesh,
He demonstrated His power over this world. Such power
was shown over disease when He healed such as Peter’s
mother-in-law (who had a fever - Lk. 4:38-41) and a number
of other people who suffered from a variety of diseases.
“Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any
sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and
he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed
them. 41 And devils also came out of many, crying out,
and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he re-
buking them suffered them not to speak: for they knew
that he was Christ. His power over nature was seen in His
turning water to wine at the wedding feast in Cana of Galilee
(John 2:1-11) and in calming the storm on the Sea of Gali-
lee (Matthew 8:26).

Brothers and Sisters,
This is an unusual time—a difficult time for
many in our country and in the world. We pray
that good will come out of this and things will
soon get back to normal.
Plans for PTP 2020 have not changed at this
point, and we will keep you posted as the
situation develops.
Since most are spending more time at home,
and many worship services are canceled, we
want to provide a resource for everyone to use
and share. PTP365 will be free for a limited
time!
