MANUFACTURING
HYUNDAI’S “IRON MAN” SUIT
USED TO GAIN EXTRA STRENGTH
In manufacturing, intelligent technology is being used
to perform several tasks such as carrying and
placing down heavy equipment more accurately.
One design which is helping with this is Hyundai’s
prototype of a “wearable suit”, almost like Iron Man’s
suit. This allows the user to gain extra strength to
lift heavier objects above your normal lifting ability,
with the hope that it could be used by factory workers
to lift heavy objects, and helping disabled or elderly
people who cannot walk find the ability to do so
again.
PREDICTING THE LIKELIHOOD
OF A MACHINE BREAKING
Artificial Intelligence can be used to anticipate
machine and equipment breakdown in order for
potential issues to be addressed before they arise.
AI can also reduce the number of product
defects by screening products for quality and
identifying the causes of yield losses, using visual
inspection. This results in more efficient
production for the company and in greater quality
products for customers.
THE USE OF THE INTERNET OF
THINGS (IOT)
Intelligent technology can also help companies that
either focus solely on manufacturing or have a
manufacturing process include the use of Internet
of things (IoT) devices to:
• Improve their inventory management
• Reduce costs and product waste
• Match demand and supply needs
• Improve company’s core operations, their
Employee and customer experience.
