Motivated to improve their school’s surroundings, students of SOS Hermann Gmeiner School in Malir Halt, Karachi planned a multi-pronged awareness campaign in their community. Beginning with research to establish why trees were the best solution to their environmental concerns, students proceeded to meet with the Forest Department which pledged to donate trees for planting as well as provide expert support on how the plantation should be carried out. Along with digging pits and planting trees, students put up eye catching posters and gave motivational talks in various classrooms about the importance of being responsible members of our environment.
