Creative Writing: The Holocaust
I really need to clean this house, it's so dusty. Bending down to fix the bookshelf, I noticed that it
was unorganised. "Goodness gracious, it's such a mess!" I thought to myself on why I haven't
cleaned this part of the house. As I took out all the books, I noticed a very familiar book. It was a
worn out journal with the cover slightly ripped, it was the a dark shade of purple. My eyes
widening realizing what this journal was. Immediately I plopped down, turning to the pages as I
read. I am a survivor. My last name wasn't always Freund, but Freund can tell a story. As usala,
every morning I wake up Berthold for him to go to school. Normally I would jump up and down on
his bed and yell at him to wake up, but he wouldn't push me off. But...show more content...
I have arrived here in the US. It was hard to move here, with the consent fear of being caught with
anyone, but it went smoothly with any of the paperwork that had happen with the organization.
The United States seems to be a beautiful place with the sunlight kissing my skin, the warm
feeling feels great. I now know I am same. Flipping the last page back, there was two black and
white pictures; I gently picked it up, having one on my left and right hand. Tears started to flow
down from my cheeks as I fully analyzed it; it was a picture of Mama, Papa, Berthold and I. It
was taken when it was Hanukkah, we looked so happy; it looked like nothing bad had happen to
this family. The next picture was taken when I was in the camp, I looked horrible, once that little
girl who had that meaningful smile has been swept off with an upside down smile. Brushing my
fingers on the two photos, my cries grew louder as I read the last sentence; "never forget who you

Reflective Essay On Creative Writing
Learning to Create English 283 is a creative writing class. The class I took was taught by the
well–respected Dr. Stewart. She has dedicated a majority of her life to writing novels, poems and
short stories. What makes her writing unique is the careful details and moment capturing scenes she
constructs. Creative nonfiction is the bread and butter of writing. The stories or poems are soaking
with true facts and experiences. Aiming to create a bond within our class, Week Ones assignment
was to compose a letter of introduction. We as a class shared our strengths, weakness and what we
expect to gain from the class. This broke the ice for our class, making our transition into small
groups easier. Each week, I took baby steps towards...show more content...
Titled, 20 different ways to talk about creative nonfiction. I learned about back–story, factual vs
emotional truth, narrative tension and voice. These elements that carried me through the rest of the
semester. Moving into Weeks Five and Six, revision was the main focus. Revising of lines folded
into the reading of sounds and Sonics. Both very important to the finalization of a creative nonfiction
draft. Weeks 8–12 pushed the importance of drafts and revision strategies. Our small groups
started to meet at least once every week working to develop better drafts for our final portfolio. Our
creative piece should reflect our growth as a writer, using shape, structure, style, drafting and
revision as tools to create our own story. Dr. Stewart left us in confidence to pick whatever subjects
we wanted to write about. With all these skills learned, the most important step in creative nonfiction
is the research. Most of my research derived from our class readings. I paid close attention to the
writers approached there craft. Reading pieces out of writing true such as "The Role of Research"
and "Under the Influence". Had a huge impact on my learning. I began to understand the flow and
how to examine what I wanted to write about deeper. Without the influence of research, catching the
reader's emotional, imaginative and intellectual attention is extremely difficult. Having the correct
structure and research combination in

The Development Of Creative Thinking Essay
The term "creativity" is close to the concept of art. People usually conclude that the latter is given
by birth, while the creative approach can be developed. It would seem that creativity is a
particular talent, and not everyone can use it. Despite this assumption, in fact, it is possible to
work out this type of response to the problems. It is only vital to find the right approach and
develop specific tactics aimed at the formation of creative thinking. Time goes fast, rapidly evolving
technology going forward and the progress requires human attention and concentration, flexible
thinking, and quick adaptation to what is happening. The world is constantly in need of
interchange of different problems with the help of creative approaches. Cathy Davidson, the author
of "Project Classroom Makeover", provides a significant work on the role of creative thinking and
its transformation due to changes in the digital era, as well as the process of forming of the self–
confidence during the initial stages of education with the development of imagination and teamwork.
In this work, the scientist insists on reconsidering of the very concept of education because of the
development of digital age, multitasking society, the influence of the Internet. Also, the author
insists on the development of such qualities as initiative, mobility, flexibility, the need for
self–development, readiness for unconventional and creative solutions. In this regard, the objective
necessity becomes the

Creative Writing: Roberto Johnson's Surgery
A shriek of success erupted from Roberto Johnson's two car garage. "I've done it!" He cried out in
pride," My time machine is finally complete!" His excitement was interrupted by a mild explosion
originating from the complicated structure that loomed above him. Roberto gave a frustrated yell
before a blue light began to glimmer from the machine. In his awe he could hardly tell that the
machine was being activated. The light progressively intensified until everything around Roberto
was undetectable. CRACK Roberto fell to the ground as the blue light transformed into rays of
contrasting colors. Another burst of light filled his vision before the world before him went dark.
He desperately groped for the lightswitch but it was nowhere to be...show more content...

stared at the awesome cat, unable to find any words. "I'm Dr. Roberto Johnson." he declared in
new found confidence," I'm no dog. I'm a man from the year 2018! I've time traveled here but my
ship has wrecked." The cats pounced atop him covering his face with a burlap sack. Roberto's
ears began to ring with the cackling of the cats that had overtaken him. He felt his limbs leave the
ground as he was placed onto a wooden wagon and dragged across the ruined terrain. Riding
bumpily across crumbled houses and overturned street lamps he found himself with a warm
feeling. He realized he didn't want to struggle under the weight of the few cats that sat upon him.
It was an odd feeling that the cats emitted. A feeling of home. Roberto felt the cart stop with a jolt
and the murmurs of a few cats around him. The sack was lifted from his head and light almost as
potent as the light from his time machine blinded him. The smell of lush grass washed away his
thoughts of the decaying lifeless land in which he had crashed. As his eyes adjusted from the
darkness of the sack that had shielded his face from his surroundings he realized he was no longer in
the wasteland he'd found most uncomfortable but rather in a colorful town.

How Does Diversity Make Us More Creative? Essay
Purpose: My purpose is to share my research on diversity and how it makes an individual more
creative with my intended audience. I am researching to find three authors that have three different
perspectives and answers to the question, "How does diversity make us more creative?"
Intended audience: My instructor is one member of my audience, which is part of the academic
audience. My audience also includes employers, politicians, organizations, educators and my peers.
How does diversity make us more creative?
Most people want to know precisely how diversity can improve an individual's intelligence and
productivity. There are various ideas and explanations when it comes to explaining how diversity
affects an individual. It is significant to understand the positives of working with a diverse group.
Authors state their opinions on the subject of exploring diversity and the overall effect it has on a
particular individual. Although there are authors that agree with the fact that diversity increases
creativity, the authors use a variety of methods to support their results. More opportunities are
available to a person as he or she works with a diverse group. An individual is more willing to listen
to intriguing and intelligent ideas when working with a diverse group. Three authors use distinctive
approaches to support the theory that diversity increases creativity by way of enhanced ideas.
Particularly, "How Diversity Makes Us Smarter", written by Katherine W. Phillips, explains

Creative Play Essay
For children it is essential that creative play is learned at an early age. Although, some people
would diagree and suggest that organized activaties is a more efficent way for the child to learn.
However, a child will benefit more from playing games such as hide and seek, or tag. Another aspect
gained from creative play is the abilty to become a logical thinker and simply obtain promblem
solving skills. These are skills that a child must aquire in order to be a succesful and productive
member in society.
A creative imagination is an essential part of a childs development. Simply by playing made up
games while using their vivid imagination allows the child to grown in so many benefical ways. This
creative side to the child will also enable them to learn excellent intrepersonsal skills such as
leadership, verbal communication and negotiation techniques that will be highly sought after in

a crucial role in the childs development. Although creative play is the most essential part of a childs

Reflection Of Creative Writing
It is my belief that through this class and the tools provided, that my growth as a writer has grown
through leaps and bounds I would never have assumed possible. It is not so much the skill I refer
to, although I would think skill has gone up in some levels as well, but more so the appreciation for
the craft of writing itself. Intially, at the start of this class my sole goal was to further my
understanding and appreciation of the writer's and books that I so love to read. Through further
evaluation within the first week, a few other goals came to mind, of which were, making writing
a habit, finishing what I start, stop second guess my writing skills and making effective use of
detail and description. Through the use of the many articles, various reading materials, whether
poems or short stories, and especially through the workshop, I feel I was able to really push
myself to accomplishing these goals. I have thus far learned how important it is not to be skilled
at writing per say, but to have the will to write, that poetry is as much about it's sound as it is about
it's subject, just how important character development is, how the narration and point of view of a
story is essential to the way the story is told, and just how much of a difference peer's critiques can
make to your writing.
Since before the beginning of this creative writing course, I have always struggled to find a point to
writing. By this, I mean that I always felt that having great skill and talent was what was required
to be a writer, let alone a great one. From this point, I felt there was no need to continue my
writing as I felt that in a sense it just wasn't good enough. However, reading the article "A Way of
Writing", I found new hope. Here was a writer who says things such as "I must be willing to fail. If
I am to keep on writing, I cannot bother to insist on high standards. I must get into action and not let
anything stop me, or even slow me much"(Stafford) and quotes that writers don't necessarily have
any special talent. The article "Why I Write" instilled further optimism through the authors view on
just being a writer, not focusing on being good or bad. I found her words in which she writes
"entirely to find out what I'm

Change, creativity and innovation are essential elements for survival and growth of an organization.
Creativity is vital for the birth of fresh and beneficial ideas. Creative thinking allows groups and
individuals to solve problems or stimulate to think differently in order to bring forth fruitful ideas.
The above mentioned creative thinking enabled our team of six different personalities to come
together and implement a plan to solve a complex problem in a hospital. Our assigned task was to
recommend a plan in order to alleviate hospital readmission among elderly population within thirty
days of discharge. In this paper the author is narrating the team dynamics, functionalities and
personal competencies in the process of recommending a change in the system. As a member in the
innovation leadership team the author is also reflecting on the assessment, capacity for innovation in
the organization which is the hospital where the team is assigned.
Organizations
Organizations are dynamic living systems and change is an inherent capacity of living systems. So
organizations need people who can perceive, understand and work effectively in order to make
positive changes (Dawson & Andriopoulos, 2014). Our team assessed the organization which was
the hospital where the readmissions of elderly population have increased. The assessment revealed
the possible causative factors behind the readmission of elderly before thirty days of discharge.
Patients may not recollect all the discharge

Reflection Essay On Creativity
Creativity flows from our fingertips and consumers our bodies, letting us erupted our unsaid
thoughts and feelings in an constructive healthy way. Life would be drape without creativity.
Creativity brings people together and forces them apart, hindering their relationship for the love of
art, a beautiful and wretched process all at the same time. It amazes me how people can be nurtured
in similar environments yet still have such unique and vast ideas and ways they express creativity.
From this humanities class I have learned multiple ways on how artist use their creativity in a
structured way. I can know tell when vanishing points pop up in my day to day life. For my future
career I will have to have a high level of creativity. I wanted to become a dietitian, which means I
will have to use my creativity everyday to construct meal plans for patients. Nature and dancer are
one of the biggest things that has impacted my creativity. These two things go hand in hand in my
life. Humanities taught me that creativity can explode from anything and I also can better
comprehend myself and how I am creative in my personal life.
Creativity is an amazing thing, it is so impactful to every area of one's life. From taking this
humanities class I have increased by knowledge of art and the different creative processes that take
place. Artist masterfully place different elements in their pieces to draw one's focus to a spot. For
example vanishing points allow an artist to create an illusion

My Experience Of Creative Writing
Creative writing is something that has and always will be an important part of my life. It's helped
me discover what I truly want to do in life and something that I have been interested in ever since
I was a young kid. I remember vividly when I first starting taking an interest in writing original
stories of my own. I was around the age of eight and at that point in my life I had never really
been taught that I could write by using just my imagination; when you're in second or third grade
you're just being taught how to read and how to spell. So when I came home from school one day
and wrote a story about a dream I had, it was such an amazing revelation. I couldn't stop thinking
about this dream I had one night, so on a whim I decided...show more content...
My bedroom was my sanctuary; a place where I felt like no matter what, I could always be myself.
That was my favorite place to write my stories and for the next couple years it was a place where I
would write hundreds of stories. Even today I still like to think of my bedroom as my go–to place of
peace, where I can write whatever I want. Fast–forward to my sixth grade year and I find myself at
the helm of an important moment in my life that involved creative writing. I was hoping to get into a
private school, but in order to do so I first had to create a five–hundred–word essay about why I
should be able to attend. I had never really done anything like this in my entire life. For a couple
days I thought hard about what I could say that would stand out from the other thousands of essay
the school receives every year. Then I thought about those stories I used to write and how original
they were and how easy they flowed from my mind. And so, I essentially wrote that essay on how
Chaminade (my middle/high school) would be getting one of the most creative, imaginative,
strange–minded kids to ever walk through their hallways. And then I played the waiting game. For
a couple days, I waited to hear back from Chaminade. I remember telling my mom, "What if I was
too original with my essay? What if they think I'm too weird?" My mom always had the best
responses for me. "I've never heard of anyone being too original," she would say. "And

Creative Writing: The Rocket
"Wow, I hope that's me someday..." Bryan (the Rocket) Rockwood thought as he gazed upon a
wax mannequin of Wayne Gretzky holding the Stanley cup. Bryan and Ty were at a hockey hall
of fame museum fairly close to his home. "Wouldn't that be amazing?" Ty asked in awe. Rocket's
best friend were Ty and Adam. He was humongous, about 5 foot 9. Compared to Rocket he looked
like his older brother. Rocket guessed that he was about 5 feet tall. Rocket was very short. They
had all started playing for AAA Rangers hockey team 4 years ago, the year Rocket moved here.
Bryan moved here because his parents split up. It was tough because he rarely saw his dad, and his
mom worked almost 12 hours a day and got next to nothing. Nevertheless, she managed to pay for
his hockey. "I just want to see what's inside!"...show more content...
The Blues were against the AAA Rangers. "Here we go," he thought. The puck dropped. Bryan
hit it back before it hit the ground. The puck slid right to the stick of the Blues captain. The Blues
were up 4 to 3. Bryan blasted behind his own net. "Bring it," he said to himself. That was Ty,
Adam, and his old saying. The buzzer sounded to end the third period. It wasn't really as special
as Bryan had thought. As Bryan took off his skates he asked himself "Could there be more to life
than just hockey?" He knew the answer. He grabbed his sticks and yelled out "Good game guys!"
As he walked down the hallway, he noticed Barker and James the General Manager talking.
Barker saw him and immediately said "Bryan... I was wrong. Size isn't everything. I would like to
offer you a spot on the team before the regular season starts." Bryan replied "Actually... I think I'll
stay with the Blues. They are more hockey players than any of the Rangers. They helped me
figure out what a real hockey player is. They need me and I need them.... And by the way, I only
play for real coaches". Bryan turned his back and walked to his ride. "That felt good," he thought

Thesis Statement On Creativity
The term creativity is used for the purpose of describing the ability that is concerned with the
process of creating something new or valuable. This ability allows a person to surpass the rules,
practices, methods, forms or similar kind of activities that the traditional society may be performing
at that time. Creativity is one of the most important things that have allowed the people of the
society to move forward and urge for development. All the development that has been made in
various aspects of human life can be directly connected with the creativity. All the industry leaders of
the world have secured this place because of the level of creativity and innovation that they showed.
They used this creativity for creating something new that has allowed them to develop completely

levels of creativity for the purpose of solving the problems. I used all my experience of the Army
for the purpose of working in this position. This job was very different from the situations that I
faced and tackled while I was working in the Army. The major difference was that I was in charge
of planning of policies and procedures that were necessary for the purpose of either providing

My Passion For Creative Writing
Even as an elementary school student, I loved writing, reading, and telling stories. I wrote and
created short films with my friends and family, printed books I wrote and gave them to my
neighbors to read and review, and got excited whenever my teacher gave a writing assignment for
homework. I took inspiration from the people around me, topics we discussed in school, and other
works of literature I adored. Throughout my years, my skills have improved through hard work and
dedication. I feel that my application would not be complete if I did not share my passion for creative
writing.
When I was younger, writing was enjoyable because I had such a vast imagination that needed to
be put onto paper. I was writing daily and asked my parents to read books to me before bed each
night so I could brainstorm ideas for my stories. I loved going to the library and checking out the
books on the 'new releases' shelf. To this day, I write regularly. I still use my imagination to inspire
my stories, along with other works of literature and historical events. I also try to write in different
voices, genres, and points of view.
During my freshman year, I noticed that my school did not have a creative writing club, and so, with
the help of a peer, I founded the Creative Writing Club at my school. The club's goal was to help
young writers share and write new pieces. We would start each day with a prompt, write for ten
minutes, then share what we wrote with the group. We would also focus on a

Creative Writing : The Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby Creative Assignment Rough The moment Daisy parted with Gatsby, she flew
towards her house and threw open the massive, Dalbergia door. As she floated up the grand
staircase, everything seemed to be out of focus and out of reach. Nothing seemed real – not the
spotless floors, not the aged portraits of her family on hanging on the walls, not even herself.
Eventually, she passed a seemingly familiar room and ventured into its depths. There, she
recognized her lavish bed calling to her. Without a second thought, she flung herself onto it and
gracefully landed in a dramatic heap. Rolling to her back, she began to trace the patterns
engraved on the bedpost with her eyes. "Such beautiful art," she sighed, "I should take up art.
Something nice to do in my spare time." She lay like this, motionless for an immeasurable
amount of time. At some point, tears had begun to spill from Daisy's eyes and a wandering
melody drifted from her slightly parted lips. Her tune was infused with a burning passion and
acute sorrow. It was an unintentional ode that exuded her love for Gatsby, her anger at Tom and
her moral culpability. Daisy's aria, accompanied by her tears, crescendoed as she walked to her
vanity and sat on its stool. "Oh goodness, this is not how a lady ought to look. Let's fix this up," she
muttered. But it was pointless. Her tears only washed away her efforts. Instead, she took upon
brushing her hair. Daisy sat there humming to herself until she saw glaring lights

Creative Person
A creative person is someone who uses their imagination and intuition to create something new or to
make changes to something that already exists. Creative people have many attributes such as
openness to new experiences, observance, curiosity, personal freedom, a willingness to take risks,
self reliance, persistence and the freedom from fear of failure. Intrinsic and extrinsic motivations are
the two most commonly used methods of creative motivation. Intrinsic motivation refers to
motivation that comes from inside an individual rather than from any external or outside rewards,
such as money or grades. The motivation comes from the pleasure one gets from the task itself or

It would be good for me to develop non–attachment also as I can't get attached to things I do and I
always want my preferences. It would also be good for me to develop skills that could be used in a
group situation as I do not work well in a group. Van Gundy's also had a list of ten things that would
help me work better in a group.
There are also aspects that can damage or destroy a person's creativity. There are six factors that
when brought upon a person who is doing something creative, will undermine both the intrinsic
interest and creative potential of the project. The six factors are:
1.Expected Evaluation: If a person is expecting somebody to be evaluating their work they will
worry about criticisms the person might make. The pressure will cause a person's creativity to be
restricted.
2.Surveillance: Creativity would also be harmed if there is a person constantly peering over your
shoulder as you are trying to be creative.
3.Reward: Although the incentive of a reward might help someone, it might also harm creativity as
I believe a person would be trying to hard to do something they cant and also trying to make
something to perfect and never accepting the good work they have done.
4.Competition: If a person is in competition with another they might focus all their energy on the
competition rather than creativity of the project.
5.Restricted Choice: If people have boundaries in what they are

Creative Self Reflection
Recently I signed up to Skillshare for a free trial. It took me about a month (the trial is for two
months) to take a course. Man, I wish I would have started earlier. But, I guess it's better late than
never. I ended up choosing a course that has given me inspiration for both my personal and work
life. I want to share it with you because I think it might inspire you in a positive way as well.
The Creative Course That Teaches You To Be More Self Aware
Since starting this course, I often joke with my husband that I'm now an artist. For instance, he'll ask
me to do something, and I'll say, "I'm an artist, so I can do that!"
Of course, I'm not that great of an artist. But, this course has made me feel more creative than I've
felt in a long time.
It's called Drawing as Self Discovery: 5 Ways To Start. It's done and delivered by Mari Andrew, who
you can find on Instagram here.
Essentially she takes you through some exercises that help you reflect on your life and then draw out
your thoughts and feelings in a really cute but meaningful way.
For instance, one of the exercises is drawing out a brain and the thoughts going through it. For me, I
had just woken up and was overthinking for the day, so I decided to draw out my 'Morning Brain'.
The beauty of doing these drawings is that you become more self–aware.
After drawing, writing, and coloring in the brain sections, I realized that a lot of my 'morning brain
problems' had to do with scheduling and planning. If I just

The creative curriculum classroom is a community. In the creative curriculum classroom, instruction
is based on observing and developing what the children say and do. Based on Vygotsky's term zone
of proximal development (ZPD), creative curriculum teachers provide learning experiences that are
challenging enough to move children to a higher level of learning, not so challenging as to frustrate
them. Creative curriculum teachers facilitate growth and development of all children in the class
and create a classroom environment in which their own effectiveness can be affirmed.(Colker)The
creative curriculum applies Gardner's theory by showing teachers how to provide opportunities for
each child to pursuer his or her special talents and to demonstrate areas of strength. In

keeping with Gardner's notion of interpersonal and intra personal intelligences, the curriculum gives
learning social skills the same level of importance as learning content. It includes plenty of physical
activity and choices to explore nature, along with traditional academics. The first component of the
creative curriculum is how children develop and learn. The preschool years are a special time in the
life of a young child. They gain independence, self–control, learn to take initiative, and assert

Essay on Creativity in Education
Creativity in the curriculum
A school with creativity at the heart of the learning process will benefit by increasing the motivation
of staff and pupils, says former head, Dave Weston. In this article and case study, he shows the way
to more imaginative approaches to curriculum planning
'Creativity is the defeat of habit by originality' Arthur Koestler
Many school leaders and teachers realise that is now time to take more control over the curriculum
and to include a greater emphasis on creativity in the learning and teaching process.
During the last five years, headteachers have developed the confidence to take innovative and
imaginative approaches to curriculum planning and school organisation. This is due to some
encouragement...show more content...
The teachers work on topics with small groups of pupils while the rest of the class work on
self–selected activities. Projects are often open–ended and therefore curriculum planning is flexible
and is sometimes teacher–directed and sometimes child–initiated. This philosophy is inspiring and
can be partially transferred to the different framework of the British primary school. Whole–school
approach to developing 'creativity'
For school leaders the first step in developing a creative school is the fostering of a whole–school
approach. Creativity is not an add–on and it cannot be imposed by the headteacher. There needs to
be discussion, involvement and ownership. The debate should be based around some of the
following points:
taking control of the curriculum by the school
the creation of a school with creativity at the heart of the learning process
enhancing the motivation for staff and pupils
fostering the professional development of all the staff, both teaching and non–teaching
involving governors and parents in a whole–school approach to creativity and showing how this
philosophy supports school improvement and high standards of achievement
getting the pupils involved in school issues (regarding the curriculum and the learning, perhaps
through the school council). How does your school measure up?
So how far has your school got in developing a creative approach to learning and teaching? Ask
yourself:
Have you discussed

  • 1. Creative Writing: The Holocaust I really need to clean this house, it's so dusty. Bending down to fix the bookshelf, I noticed that it was unorganised. "Goodness gracious, it's such a mess!" I thought to myself on why I haven't cleaned this part of the house. As I took out all the books, I noticed a very familiar book. It was a worn out journal with the cover slightly ripped, it was the a dark shade of purple. My eyes widening realizing what this journal was. Immediately I plopped down, turning to the pages as I read. I am a survivor. My last name wasn't always Freund, but Freund can tell a story. Flipping the last page back, there was two black and white pictures; I gently picked it up, having one on my left and right hand. Tears started to flow down from my cheeks as I fully analyzed it; it was a picture of Mama, Papa, Berthold and I. It was taken when it was Hanukkah, we looked so happy; it looked like nothing bad had happen to this family. The next picture was taken when I was in the camp, I looked horrible, once that little girl who had that meaningful smile has been swept off with an upside down smile. • 2. Reflective Essay On Creative Writing Learning to Create English 283 is a creative writing class. The class I took was taught by the well–respected Dr. Stewart. She has dedicated a majority of her life to writing novels, poems and short stories. What makes her writing unique is the careful details and moment capturing scenes she constructs. Creative nonfiction is the bread and butter of writing. The stories or poems are soaking with true facts and experiences. Aiming to create a bond within our class, Week Ones assignment was to compose a letter of introduction. We as a class shared our strengths, weakness and what we expect to gain from the class. This broke the ice for our class, making our transition into small groups easier. Each week, I took baby steps towards...show more content... These elements that carried me through the rest of the semester. Moving into Weeks Five and Six, revision was the main focus. Revising of lines folded into the reading of sounds and Sonics. Both very important to the finalization of a creative nonfiction draft. Weeks 8–12 pushed the importance of drafts and revision strategies. Our small groups started to meet at least once every week working to develop better drafts for our final portfolio. Our creative piece should reflect our growth as a writer, using shape, structure, style, drafting and revision as tools to create our own story. Dr. Stewart left us in confidence to pick whatever subjects we wanted to write about. With all these skills learned, the most important step in creative nonfiction is the research. Most of my research derived from our class readings. I paid close attention to the writers approached there craft. Reading pieces out of writing true such as "The Role of Research" and "Under the Influence". Had a huge impact on my learning. I began to understand the flow and how to examine what I wanted to write about deeper. • 3. The Development Of Creative Thinking Essay The term "creativity" is close to the concept of art. People usually conclude that the latter is given by birth, while the creative approach can be developed. It would seem that creativity is a particular talent, and not everyone can use it. Despite this assumption, in fact, it is possible to work out this type of response to the problems. It is only vital to find the right approach and develop specific tactics aimed at the formation of creative thinking. Time goes fast, rapidly evolving technology going forward and the progress requires human attention and concentration, flexible thinking, and quick adaptation to what is happening. The world is constantly in need of interchange of different problems with the help of creative approaches. Cathy Davidson, the author of "Project Classroom Makeover", provides a significant work on the role of creative thinking and its transformation due to changes in the digital era, as well as the process of forming of the self– confidence during the initial stages of education with the development of imagination and teamwork. In this work, the scientist insists on reconsidering of the very concept of education because of the development of digital age, multitasking society, the influence of the Internet. Also, the author insists on the development of such qualities as initiative, mobility, flexibility, the need for self–development, readiness for unconventional and creative solutions. His excitement was interrupted by a mild explosion originating from the complicated structure that loomed above him. Roberto gave a frustrated yell before a blue light began to glimmer from the machine. In his awe he could hardly tell that the machine was being activated. The light progressively intensified until everything around Roberto was undetectable. CRACK Roberto fell to the ground as the blue light transformed into rays of contrasting colors. I've time traveled here but my ship has wrecked." The cats pounced atop him covering his face with a burlap sack. Roberto's ears began to ring with the cackling of the cats that had overtaken him. He felt his limbs leave the ground as he was placed onto a wooden wagon and dragged across the ruined terrain. Riding bumpily across crumbled houses and overturned street lamps he found himself with a warm feeling. He realized he didn't want to struggle under the weight of the few cats that sat upon him. It was an odd feeling that the cats emitted. A feeling of home. Roberto felt the cart stop with a jolt and the murmurs of a few cats around him. The sack was lifted from his head and light almost as potent as the light from his time machine blinded him. The smell of lush grass washed away his thoughts of the decaying lifeless land in which he had crashed. As his eyes adjusted from the darkness of the sack that had shielded his face from his surroundings he realized he was no longer in the wasteland he'd found most uncomfortable but rather in a colorful town. • 5. How Does Diversity Make Us More Creative? Essay Purpose: My purpose is to share my research on diversity and how it makes an individual more creative with my intended audience. I am researching to find three authors that have three different perspectives and answers to the question, "How does diversity make us more creative?" Intended audience: My instructor is one member of my audience, which is part of the academic audience. My audience also includes employers, politicians, organizations, educators and my peers. How does diversity make us more creative? Most people want to know precisely how diversity can improve an individual's intelligence and productivity. There are various ideas and explanations when it comes to explaining how diversity affects an individual. It is significant to understand the positives of working with a diverse group. Authors state their opinions on the subject of exploring diversity and the overall effect it has on a particular individual. Although there are authors that agree with the fact that diversity increases creativity, the authors use a variety of methods to support their results. More opportunities are available to a person as he or she works with a diverse group. An individual is more willing to listen to intriguing and intelligent ideas when working with a diverse group. Three authors use distinctive approaches to support the theory that diversity increases creativity by way of enhanced ideas. Particularly, "How Diversity Makes Us Smarter", written by Katherine W. • 7. Reflection Of Creative Writing It is my belief that through this class and the tools provided, that my growth as a writer has grown through leaps and bounds I would never have assumed possible. It is not so much the skill I refer to, although I would think skill has gone up in some levels as well, but more so the appreciation for the craft of writing itself. Intially, at the start of this class my sole goal was to further my understanding and appreciation of the writer's and books that I so love to read. Through further evaluation within the first week, a few other goals came to mind, of which were, making writing a habit, finishing what I start, stop second guess my writing skills and making effective use of detail and description. Through the use of the many articles, various reading materials, whether poems or short stories, and especially through the workshop, I feel I was able to really push myself to accomplishing these goals. I have thus far learned how important it is not to be skilled at writing per say, but to have the will to write, that poetry is as much about it's sound as it is about it's subject, just how important character development is, how the narration and point of view of a story is essential to the way the story is told, and just how much of a difference peer's critiques can make to your writing. Since before the beginning of this creative writing course, I have always struggled to find a point to writing. By this, I mean that I always felt that having great skill and talent was what was required to be a writer, let alone a great one. From this point, I felt there was no need to continue my writing as I felt that in a sense it just wasn't good enough. However, reading the article "A Way of Writing", I found new hope. Here was a writer who says things such as "I must be willing to fail. If I am to keep on writing, I cannot bother to insist on high standards. I must get into action and not let anything stop me, or even slow me much"(Stafford) and quotes that writers don't necessarily have any special talent. The article "Why I Write" instilled further optimism through the authors view on just being a writer, not focusing on being good or bad. I found her words in which she writes "entirely to find out what I'm Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 10. My Experience Of Creative Writing Creative writing is something that has and always will be an important part of my life. It's helped me discover what I truly want to do in life and something that I have been interested in ever since I was a young kid. I remember vividly when I first starting taking an interest in writing original stories of my own. I was around the age of eight and at that point in my life I had never really been taught that I could write by using just my imagination; when you're in second or third grade you're just being taught how to read and how to spell. So when I came home from school one day and wrote a story about a dream I had, it was such an amazing revelation. I couldn't stop thinking about this dream I had one night, so on a whim I decided...show more content... My bedroom was my sanctuary; a place where I felt like no matter what, I could always be myself. That was my favorite place to write my stories and for the next couple years it was a place where I would write hundreds of stories. Even today I still like to think of my bedroom as my go–to place of peace, where I can write whatever I want. Fast–forward to my sixth grade year and I find myself at the helm of an important moment in my life that involved creative writing. I was hoping to get into a private school, but in order to do so I first had to create a five–hundred–word essay about why I should be able to attend. I had never really done anything like this in my entire life. For a couple days I thought hard about what I could say that would stand out from the other thousands of essay the school receives every year. Then I thought about those stories I used to write and how original they were and how easy they flowed from my mind. And so, I essentially wrote that essay on how Chaminade (my middle/high school) would be getting one of the most creative, imaginative, strange–minded kids to ever walk through their hallways. And then I played the waiting game. For a couple days, I waited to hear back from Chaminade. I remember telling my mom, "What if I was too original with my essay? What if they think I'm too weird?" My mom always had the best responses for me. "I've never heard of anyone being too original," she would say. "And Get more content on HelpWriting.net

He knew the answer. He grabbed his sticks and yelled out "Good game guys!" As he walked down the hallway, he noticed Barker and James the General Manager talking. Barker saw him and immediately said "Bryan... I was wrong. Size isn't everything. I would like to offer you a spot on the team before the regular season starts." Bryan replied "Actually... • 13. My Passion For Creative Writing Even as an elementary school student, I loved writing, reading, and telling stories. I wrote and created short films with my friends and family, printed books I wrote and gave them to my neighbors to read and review, and got excited whenever my teacher gave a writing assignment for homework. I took inspiration from the people around me, topics we discussed in school, and other works of literature I adored. Throughout my years, my skills have improved through hard work and dedication. I feel that my application would not be complete if I did not share my passion for creative writing. When I was younger, writing was enjoyable because I had such a vast imagination that needed to be put onto paper. I was writing daily and asked my parents to read books to me before bed each night so I could brainstorm ideas for my stories. I loved going to the library and checking out the books on the 'new releases' shelf. To this day, I write regularly. I still use my imagination to inspire my stories, along with other works of literature and historical events. I also try to write in different voices, genres, and points of view. During my freshman year, I noticed that my school did not have a creative writing club, and so, with the help of a peer, I founded the Creative Writing Club at my school. The club's goal was to help young writers share and write new pieces. We would start each day with a prompt, write for ten minutes, then share what we wrote with the group. The wheels skidded to a stop in front of a house that looked just like the others, as Beatty violently pulled the brake backwards. Beatty screamed over the roar of the sirens, with a devilish smile on his face. He turned to see Montag's blanched face, eyes wide and mouth gaping with surprise. Beatty knew Montag would be surprised to see his very own house through the windows of the fire truck. • 15. Creative Writing : The Great Gatsby The Great Gatsby Creative Assignment Rough The moment Daisy parted with Gatsby, she flew towards her house and threw open the massive, Dalbergia door. As she floated up the grand staircase, everything seemed to be out of focus and out of reach. Nothing seemed real – not the spotless floors, not the aged portraits of her family on hanging on the walls, not even herself. Eventually, she passed a seemingly familiar room and ventured into its depths. There, she recognized her lavish bed calling to her. Without a second thought, she flung herself onto it and gracefully landed in a dramatic heap. Rolling to her back, she began to trace the patterns engraved on the bedpost with her eyes. "Such beautiful art," she sighed, "I should take up art. Something nice to do in my spare time." She lay like this, motionless for an immeasurable amount of time. At some point, tears had begun to spill from Daisy's eyes and a wandering melody drifted from her slightly parted lips. Her tune was infused with a burning passion and acute sorrow. It was an unintentional ode that exuded her love for Gatsby, her anger at Tom and her moral culpability. Daisy's aria, accompanied by her tears, crescendoed as she walked to her vanity and sat on its stool. "Oh goodness, this is not how a lady ought to look. Let's fix this up," she muttered. But it was pointless. Her tears only washed away her efforts. Instead, she took upon brushing her hair. Daisy sat there humming to herself until she saw glaring lights Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Creative Person A creative person is someone who uses their imagination and intuition to create something new or to make changes to something that already exists. Creative people have many attributes such as openness to new experiences, observance, curiosity, personal freedom, a willingness to take risks, self reliance, persistence and the freedom from fear of failure. Intrinsic and extrinsic motivations are the two most commonly used methods of creative motivation. Intrinsic motivation refers to motivation that comes from inside an individual rather than from any external or outside rewards, such as money or grades. The motivation comes from the pleasure one gets from the task itself or from the sense of satisfaction in completing or even working on a...show more content... It would be good for me to develop non–attachment also as I can't get attached to things I do and I always want my preferences. It would also be good for me to develop skills that could be used in a group situation as I do not work well in a group. Van Gundy's also had a list of ten things that would help me work better in a group. There are also aspects that can damage or destroy a person's creativity. There are six factors that when brought upon a person who is doing something creative, will undermine both the intrinsic interest and creative potential of the project. The six factors are: 1.Expected Evaluation: If a person is expecting somebody to be evaluating their work they will worry about criticisms the person might make. The pressure will cause a person's creativity to be restricted. 2.Surveillance: Creativity would also be harmed if there is a person constantly peering over your shoulder as you are trying to be creative. 3.Reward: Although the incentive of a reward might help someone, it might also harm creativity as I believe a person would be trying to hard to do something they cant and also trying to make something to perfect and never accepting the good work they have done. 4.Competition: If a person is in competition with another they might focus all their energy on the competition rather than creativity of the project. 5.Restricted Choice: If people have boundaries in what they are Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Creative Self Reflection Recently I signed up to Skillshare for a free trial. It took me about a month (the trial is for two months) to take a course. Man, I wish I would have started earlier. But, I guess it's better late than never. I ended up choosing a course that has given me inspiration for both my personal and work life. I want to share it with you because I think it might inspire you in a positive way as well. The Creative Course That Teaches You To Be More Self Aware Since starting this course, I often joke with my husband that I'm now an artist. For instance, he'll ask me to do something, and I'll say, "I'm an artist, so I can do that!" Of course, I'm not that great of an artist. But, this course has made me feel more creative than I've felt in a long time. It's called Drawing as Self Discovery: 5 Ways To Start. It's done and delivered by Mari Andrew, who you can find on Instagram here. Essentially she takes you through some exercises that help you reflect on your life and then draw out your thoughts and feelings in a really cute but meaningful way. For instance, one of the exercises is drawing out a brain and the thoughts going through it. For me, I had just woken up and was overthinking for the day, so I decided to draw out my 'Morning Brain'. The beauty of doing these drawings is that you become more self–aware. After drawing, writing, and coloring in the brain sections, I realized that a lot of my 'morning brain problems' had to do with scheduling and planning. If I just Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Creative Writing: Growing Up "Sometimes you gotta let something bad happen, or else you wont know how to fix things when they go wrong later." The words drifted back into her mind as she stood on the sidewalk. Ashes fluttered down, landing in her hair and on her clothes, smearing soot onto her skin and black across her vision. She should have listened. "If you don't ever make mistakes, you can't fix anything when it finally goes wrong. You're justa' kid, a good kid, so you have to learn how to fall down and get back up before you're too old." She had fallen down. Oh, she had fallen down so hard, scraping her knees and cheeks and elbows, bruising her shins and skinning her palms. She should have listened, she should have known how to get up....show more content... And now it had all come crashing down. Smoke burned her lungs, but she didn't move, couldn't move. "And sometimes you have to mess up for people. They might give you a weird look, or hate you for it because they don't understand, but they'll understand it eventually, and they'll thank you." Orange heat burned on her cheeks, red and yellow flickered in her eyes as the flames danced across the wooden boards. Why didn't she listen...But she had listened. She had learned. She had made mistakes. "But remember, kid, even standing back up leaves scars. They might fade away, but don't get angry if they don't. They're proof you lived, that you hurt. That you fell down and were smart enough to drag yourself to the finish line." She had made too many mistakes, ignored more than she needed to. And now the house was burning. It was over, all over. Something fell near her, crashed down from the ceiling and showered sparks and embers onto her shirt and arms. It burned, it burned so much, but she couldn't move. "But no–matter how many mistakes you make or don't make, I'll stand beside you, okay? I'll back you up. You don't have to be the only one on your team. The creative curriculum classroom is a community. In the creative curriculum classroom, instruction is based on observing and developing what the children say and do. Based on Vygotsky's term zone of proximal development (ZPD), creative curriculum teachers provide learning experiences that are challenging enough to move children to a higher level of learning, not so challenging as to frustrate them. Creative curriculum teachers facilitate growth and development of all children in the class and create a classroom environment in which their own effectiveness can be affirmed.(Colker)The creative curriculum applies Gardner's theory by showing teachers how to provide opportunities for each child to pursuer his or her special talents and to demonstrate areas of strength. In Creative curriculum keeping with Gardner's notion of interpersonal and intra personal intelligences, the curriculum gives learning social skills the same level of importance as learning content. It includes plenty of physical activity and choices to explore nature, along with traditional academics. The first component of the creative curriculum is how children develop and learn. The preschool years are a special time in the life of a young child. They gain independence, self–control, learn to take initiative, and assert themselves in socially acceptable ways. At the same time, they become keen observers of their world and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Essay on Creativity in Education Creativity in the curriculum A school with creativity at the heart of the learning process will benefit by increasing the motivation of staff and pupils, says former head, Dave Weston. In this article and case study, he shows the way to more imaginative approaches to curriculum planning 'Creativity is the defeat of habit by originality' Arthur Koestler Many school leaders and teachers realise that is now time to take more control over the curriculum and to include a greater emphasis on creativity in the learning and teaching process. During the last five years, headteachers have developed the confidence to take innovative and imaginative approaches to curriculum planning and school organisation. This is due to some encouragement...show more content... The teachers work on topics with small groups of pupils while the rest of the class work on self–selected activities. Projects are often open–ended and therefore curriculum planning is flexible and is sometimes teacher–directed and sometimes child–initiated. This philosophy is inspiring and can be partially transferred to the different framework of the British primary school. Whole–school approach to developing 'creativity' For school leaders the first step in developing a creative school is the fostering of a whole–school approach. Creativity is not an add–on and it cannot be imposed by the headteacher. There needs to be discussion, involvement and ownership. The debate should be based around some of the following points: taking control of the curriculum by the school the creation of a school with creativity at the heart of the learning process enhancing the motivation for staff and pupils fostering the professional development of all the staff, both teaching and non–teaching involving governors and parents in a whole–school approach to creativity and showing how this philosophy supports school improvement and high standards of achievement getting the pupils involved in school issues (regarding the curriculum and the learning, perhaps through the school council). How does your school measure up? So how far has your school got in developing a creative approach to learning and teaching? Ask yourself: Have you discussed Get more content on HelpWriting.net
