Online Communities Essay
Communities are all about groups of individuals who share something in common. This makes going
on the internet seem like an odd way to find more communities, form new ones, or strengthen
pre–existing ones. The internet however is full of communities. Communities can be based upon
religion, location, ethnicity, an interest, or a personal matter. Theinternet itself is "a global distributed
data communications network" (Kirmayer, Raikhel, & Rahimi, 2013, p. 166). This is what makes
the internet so full of communities because communication is the key to putting multiple individuals
with commonalities into communication, which is the basis of any community. Online communities
differ from communities that exists off the web in a couple of...show more content...
This distinction of authority aids in creating a hierarchy within a community. With online
communities, every member is often able to contribute equally, allowing their voice to be heard.
This gives the impression that every individual is an authority figure on a subject due to their
ability to be equally heard. (Cellary, 2008, p. 107) For example to post a video about cats on
Youtube, it is equally as easy for one person as it is the next to post a video. They simply must
own a camera, have a Youtube account, be willing to record something about cats, and post it on
Youtube (How to upload videos, n.d.). A third and huge difference between the two types of
community is that online communities offer up the chance to be anonymous. Online one can
identify with the use of almost any name or image. The name doesn't have to be a real one, and
there's not really any way for one to prove the image is truly theirs or of themselves (Cellary, 2008,
p. 107).
However, this ability for anonymity within an online community doesn't necessarily mean privacy.
The study Internet social network communities: Risk taking, trust, and privacy concerns by Fogel
and Nehmad (2008) talks about how much university students are willing to share on social media.
Although the study does strictly look at one set of university students, it gives an example of how
much individuals are willing to share personal information such as pictures of oneself, ones' email
address, instant messenger address,

Online Graduate Programs Essay
Online Graduate Programs
Over the past few years there has been a significant increase in the number of students enrolled in
online graduate programs. Before online graduate programs existed, an undergraduate student could
only receive a graduate degree if they physically attended a university. However, with the
improvements in technology, students can now receive a graduate degree from their home by
simply attending lectures online, and submitting their work through email to the professor. Although
there are conflicting ideas about whether or not a student can retain the same amount of information
from an online program as opposed to attending a graduate school, research shows that online
graduate programs are equally as effective as...show more content...
This differs from the classroom where there may be several questions at one time in which the
professor is trying to handle.
An example of the effectiveness of online learning may be seen through a recent study conducted
by the Test of Understanding College Economics. The study indicated, "students who select into the
online classes perform better than they would in a face to face class" (Coates, 2004, p. 533).
Therefore, it has been proven that there is no significant difference in the material learned in online
graduate programs as opposed to graduate schools. These studies show that for some people, online
graduate programs provide a better learning atmosphere than graduate schools. Therefore, online
graduate programs are better suited for some people.
In addition to being able to actively communicate with your professor online, students are able to
work at their own pace. For online graduate programs, an assignment will be given, and the student
has to turn it in before the deadline. Students do not have to worry about what time they work on
the assignment as long as it is turned in on the date it was requested. This is beneficial for people
who are trying to manage a job and attend school at the same time. Since many people have to pay
for graduate school themselves, they are often forced to work full time. Due to this, there are often
scheduling conflicts between work and graduate school. Students who attend graduate school

Online Classes Analysis
This is my first time taking online classes, also the first time I have been back to school in six
years. When I was in high school I did have the option to take online classes, but declined to do so.
I enjoyed being in a classroom with my teachers and peers. I didn't have the responsibilities that I
have today. Now that I am older and have my own family, so I am typically busy all the time.
Even though I am only in the second week of my online classes, I have found that I enjoy them
much more than sitting in a classroom. The classes are convenient for me to take mostly because I
can go at my own pace. I get to spend more time on topics that I have a hard time comprehending,
rather than topics I already know about. I am always on the go, it's...show more content...
Having a degree is in demand with today's employers, this causes more and more people each year
to go back to school. Better paying jobs require degrees, it's as simple as that. In this modern day
everyone is typically on the go, these easily accessible classes go anywhere you do. All you need
is a computer and the internet. Even from my smartphone I can participate in the discussion forums
or even turn in assignments. This is something I didn't even know was possible. If you find yourself
having difficulties on a subject, you don't have to meet with a tutor face to face. You can do it all
from your computer or smartphone anywhere you are. New technology is being developed everyday,
and after doing some research I have found something interesting. Some teachers are starting to use
artificial intelligence such as a "virtual teaching assistant". Students have said that they did not know
they were even talking with a computer. Along with that the process of making artificial intelligence
learning companions is said to be promising in the future (https://thenextweb.com
/artificial–intelligence/2017/03/13/how–artificial–intelligence–enhances–education/
#.tnw_JyP4cgMY). In my honest opinion I do not think that teachers could ever be replaced by
artificial intelligence any time soon, although in the future it could

Essay About Online Games
What people think about online games?
Introduction
Online heroic is do not so awful thing, and it is more good than bad. And the 1st perspective is that
one type of people think that online games is worst thing ever in the world and there another people,
and they introducing 2nd perspective, who think that online games is good, because they play online
games or have some connection to online games. And my thesis statement is that online games is
good and most of people think like me.
Aims
The aim of my research is to find information to know what people think about the online games, so
find the answer to the question: "What people think about online games in Kazakhstan". Moreover
the question will be discussed from two different perspectives,...show more content...
The first reason why people think so is that online games are helps people to communicate to each
other. You cannot play onlinegame without anyone, so you speak to them, what is, of course,
improving your communicate skills. At all, you this is good reason to think that online games
are good and helpful. The second reason is that online games are improving the motor skills and
reaction, because when you playing online games you need to do all fast and good (Nauchpok,
2014; Rodion, 2014). And to do this fast and good you need good reaction, to, for example, press
button in an accurate moment to win the game, as it is in DOTA 2. In addition, online games
improving motor skills because you need to, for example, press different buttons on your keyboard,
so you must know where is that button, when you need to press it, or another example, game with
mouse, you must move your hand fast and accurate to be a good player in most online games. In
addition the role–play games, and most of role–play games can be played by the internet so they

good reason to say that online games are helps people improve something, as a reaction and motor
skills, etc. However, there is also counter argument to the good reasons, and they are in the second

Online Romance Essay
"Oh, what good will writing do? I want to put my hand out and touch you. I want to do for you and
care for you. I want to be there when you're sick and when you're lonesome" (Wharton). The
internet is a great source to yield romance yet it proves futile when an honest love is what is sought.
The search for true romance is world–wide, it feeds the dreams of young boys and girls and of
older, wiser adults; it permits their fantasies to steadily burn deep within their hearts. Despite the
wisdom of these men and women, the call to romance is too captivating to dismiss. Romance is
seen and heard through means such as television, music, and novels, people long for it transforming
the need for it into a never–ending pursuit, whether the...show more content...
I love you for all that you are, and all that yet remains a mystery to me. Although I `speak' through
the computer, my words come from the heart, true friendship is hard to find but I believe that I've
found it in you.
Stories such as these have been passed throughout the internet. People are finding a "true romance"
on–line but the sad truth is that most of these relationships are doomed due to dishonesty or a
mental figure which is impossible or extremely difficult to match. The author of the above passage
says that they love the pen pal due to the mystery behind their knowledge of each other. Possibly the
mystery of their true physical appearance or of their personality which isn't obvious through
emotionless communication. It is possibly a mystery that guards the two parties by keeping them
emotionally detached (despite the words of "love" in the passage) to a certain extent. Therein lies
the key to the door that leads to a successful and fulfilling relationship. The mystery that allows the
parties to picture their on–line "buddies" as the Romeo or Juliet of their generation is what keeps the
air of romance amidst but romance is not love. An example of this is apparent in Meghan Daum and
her article "Virtual Love", she states that physically meeting her pen pal only soured the relationship
with "PFSlider" which worked so well on the computer screen and through the wires of the telephone
(260). The aura of mystery surrounding the written word on the

Online Community Essay
Online Community
After searching through various online communities, I finally found one that looked very
interesting and informative to me, fitness.com. I chose an online community in which I would not
only gain helpful information and advice, but I could also communicate with people who are
interested in the same topic as I am. I knew right away that it was a community rather than just a
typical webpage that someone had made. A community has places where people can post messages
on a discussion board, a chat room for people to talk instantly to one another, and a place where
people can go to anytime of the day to post messages. The site was available for anyone that was
interested in fitness or nutrition facts. The online...show more content...
There were also articles that would help anyone with the questions they have about nutrition and/or
fitness. They gave out important information for almost every topic. I looked up a particular article
titled, "Advantages through Fitness Training." It stated that injuries can be prevented through fitness
activity and it even motivated me to go to UREC, (the campus gym,) that day. Many other articles
were also helpful, especially about nutrition. The Fit Tips also provided me with quick little health
and fitness advice and information, which helped me to remember certain things about fitness and
nutrition.
Although there were many advantages to the articles, test, and fit tips, there were some
disadvantages to the online community. The different discussion boards were not very useful. At
times, people would mock those who were asking serious questions and looking for serious
advice. Occasionally, people would respond with helpful information, but not very often. A lot of
the things people said were repetitive and not worth the time reading it. When I posted a question
on the Nutrition Board, I did not get positive feedback at all. One guy called me a moron, and
another person told me things that I knew already. Being called a moron did not make me want to
continue going to the site. It showed that some people do not respect others when they are trying to
be serious and receive

Online Education Essay
Online education has grown since it first came about, there are mixed views on whether it is truly
beneficial. The reasons for the huge growth of online education is money even though online
education targeted working adults that have little or no time to sit in a traditional classroom for
millions of men and women serving in the armed forces online education has made earning a degree
much more possible.
In recent years there have been significant technological growth with this growth technology has

But without the securities of the traditional classroom environment cheating has become a big
concern in online education aside from cheating the quality of online education is also in
question in addressed by article posted Greg Rodriguez which states "the level of effectiveness of
educational technology is influenced by this specific student population, the software design that
educators role, and the level of access to technology I agree that having a quality program is
important but still requires much effort from both student and teachers to ensure success of the
online program". This is also true for traditional classrooms the use of online education impacted
not only colleges but grade, middle, and high schools alike one of the biggest issues discussed on
the topic of online learning is age and maturity an article written by Sam Dillon talks about the use
of online learning in elementary and home schools. While I do agree with the statement made by
Tracie Weldie, a native from Milwaukee, which home schools her three kids than there is no reason
for Isabel to practice counting if she can already add not every child learns at the same rate and this
will elevate, concerns the parent might have about their child being challenged to reach their full
academic potential. Either the online

Online Relationships Essay
Online Relationships
Cyberspace relationships have the advantages of time, distance depletion, and fantasy abilities
(Suler). Internet users can take on different identities or take part in fantasy games. They can
become someone else. James Katz and Philip Aspen report that the Internet is a place to make
friends and stay in touch with far away relatives (Stoll). It makes distance disappear. Also, online a
person is given time before they must respond to the other person (Suler). They are given the
opportunity to better articulate themselves in writing. It is also possible to store conversations with
friends on–line (Suler). Sometimes face to face relationships are hard to make. It's easier for a shy or

Babies loose their love bond and do not develop secure attachments without being touched (Suler).
Touch, as well as many physical activities, cannot be fully recreated in cyberspace (Suller). Body
language and communication through facial movements are completely absent. The tones and
timbre of a person's voice are even missing (Suller). The scent and even taste of a person cannot be
recreated in cyberspace (Suller). "Mother Nature was pretty clever in giving us eyes, ears, skin,
noses, and tongues – all interconnected in marvelous ways that science still doesn't fully understand.
Those clusters of sensation make for relationships that are highly robust in emotion and meaning"
(Suller).
The touchable friend cannot be replaced! "The overwhelming majority of on– line friendships simply
aren't deep. On–line friends can't be depended on for help with tangible favors: small loans,
babysitting, help with shopping or advice about jobs and careers" (Stoll). Simply put, on–line
friendships are lacking a very important physical bond. "Cyberspace relating is a wonderful
supplement to IPR [In–Person Relationships], but in the long run it's not ultimately fulfilling as a
substitute especially when it comes to intimate relationships. Most people who develop close
friendships and romances in cyberspace eventually want and need to meet their friend or lover
in–person" (Suler). The Internet is great for keeping up with friends that live far away. However,

However, this ability for anonymity within an online community doesn't necessarily mean privacy. The study Internet social network communities: Risk taking, trust, and privacy concerns by Fogel and Nehmad (2008) talks about how much university students are willing to share on social media. Although the study does strictly look at one set of university students, it gives an example of how much individuals are willing to share personal information such as pictures of oneself, ones' email address, instant messenger address, Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 3. Online Graduate Programs Essay Online Graduate Programs Over the past few years there has been a significant increase in the number of students enrolled in online graduate programs. Before online graduate programs existed, an undergraduate student could only receive a graduate degree if they physically attended a university. However, with the improvements in technology, students can now receive a graduate degree from their home by simply attending lectures online, and submitting their work through email to the professor. Although there are conflicting ideas about whether or not a student can retain the same amount of information from an online program as opposed to attending a graduate school, research shows that online graduate programs are equally as effective as...show more content... This differs from the classroom where there may be several questions at one time in which the professor is trying to handle. An example of the effectiveness of online learning may be seen through a recent study conducted by the Test of Understanding College Economics. The study indicated, "students who select into the online classes perform better than they would in a face to face class" (Coates, 2004, p. 533). Therefore, it has been proven that there is no significant difference in the material learned in online graduate programs as opposed to graduate schools. These studies show that for some people, online graduate programs provide a better learning atmosphere than graduate schools. Therefore, online graduate programs are better suited for some people. In addition to being able to actively communicate with your professor online, students are able to work at their own pace. For online graduate programs, an assignment will be given, and the student has to turn it in before the deadline. Students do not have to worry about what time they work on the assignment as long as it is turned in on the date it was requested. This is beneficial for people who are trying to manage a job and attend school at the same time. Since many people have to pay for graduate school themselves, they are often forced to work full time. Due to this, there are often scheduling conflicts between work and graduate school. Students who attend graduate school Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Online Classes Analysis This is my first time taking online classes, also the first time I have been back to school in six years. When I was in high school I did have the option to take online classes, but declined to do so. I enjoyed being in a classroom with my teachers and peers. I didn't have the responsibilities that I have today. Now that I am older and have my own family, so I am typically busy all the time. Even though I am only in the second week of my online classes, I have found that I enjoy them much more than sitting in a classroom. The classes are convenient for me to take mostly because I can go at my own pace. I get to spend more time on topics that I have a hard time comprehending, rather than topics I already know about. Better paying jobs require degrees, it's as simple as that. In this modern day everyone is typically on the go, these easily accessible classes go anywhere you do. All you need is a computer and the internet. Even from my smartphone I can participate in the discussion forums or even turn in assignments. This is something I didn't even know was possible. If you find yourself having difficulties on a subject, you don't have to meet with a tutor face to face. You can do it all from your computer or smartphone anywhere you are. New technology is being developed everyday, and after doing some research I have found something interesting. Some teachers are starting to use artificial intelligence such as a "virtual teaching assistant". Students have said that they did not know they were even talking with a computer. Along with that the process of making artificial intelligence learning companions is said to be promising in the future (https://thenextweb.com /artificial–intelligence/2017/03/13/how–artificial–intelligence–enhances–education/ #.tnw_JyP4cgMY). In my honest opinion I do not think that teachers could ever be replaced by artificial intelligence any time soon, although in the future it could Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Although I `speak' through the computer, my words come from the heart, true friendship is hard to find but I believe that I've found it in you. Stories such as these have been passed throughout the internet. People are finding a "true romance" on–line but the sad truth is that most of these relationships are doomed due to dishonesty or a mental figure which is impossible or extremely difficult to match. The author of the above passage says that they love the pen pal due to the mystery behind their knowledge of each other. Possibly the mystery of their true physical appearance or of their personality which isn't obvious through emotionless communication. It is possibly a mystery that guards the two parties by keeping them emotionally detached (despite the words of "love" in the passage) to a certain extent. Therein lies the key to the door that leads to a successful and fulfilling relationship. The mystery that allows the parties to picture their on–line "buddies" as the Romeo or Juliet of their generation is what keeps the air of romance amidst but romance is not love. An example of this is apparent in Meghan Daum and her article "Virtual Love", she states that physically meeting her pen pal only soured the relationship with "PFSlider" which worked so well on the computer screen and through the wires of the telephone (260). • 8. Online Community Essay Online Community After searching through various online communities, I finally found one that looked very interesting and informative to me, fitness.com. I chose an online community in which I would not only gain helpful information and advice, but I could also communicate with people who are interested in the same topic as I am. I knew right away that it was a community rather than just a typical webpage that someone had made. A community has places where people can post messages on a discussion board, a chat room for people to talk instantly to one another, and a place where people can go to anytime of the day to post messages. The site was available for anyone that was interested in fitness or nutrition facts. The online...show more content... There were also articles that would help anyone with the questions they have about nutrition and/or fitness. They gave out important information for almost every topic. I looked up a particular article titled, "Advantages through Fitness Training." It stated that injuries can be prevented through fitness activity and it even motivated me to go to UREC, (the campus gym,) that day. Many other articles were also helpful, especially about nutrition. The Fit Tips also provided me with quick little health and fitness advice and information, which helped me to remember certain things about fitness and nutrition. Although there were many advantages to the articles, test, and fit tips, there were some disadvantages to the online community. The different discussion boards were not very useful. At times, people would mock those who were asking serious questions and looking for serious advice. Occasionally, people would respond with helpful information, but not very often. A lot of the things people said were repetitive and not worth the time reading it. When I posted a question on the Nutrition Board, I did not get positive feedback at all. One guy called me a moron, and another person told me things that I knew already. Being called a moron did not make me want to continue going to the site. It showed that some people do not respect others when they are trying to be serious and receive Get more content on HelpWriting.net

This is also true for traditional classrooms the use of online education impacted not only colleges but grade, middle, and high schools alike one of the biggest issues discussed on the topic of online learning is age and maturity an article written by Sam Dillon talks about the use of online learning in elementary and home schools. While I do agree with the statement made by Tracie Weldie, a native from Milwaukee, which home schools her three kids than there is no reason for Isabel to practice counting if she can already add not every child learns at the same rate and this will elevate, concerns the parent might have about their child being challenged to reach their full academic potential. Internet users can take on different identities or take part in fantasy games. They can become someone else. Simply put, on–line friendships are lacking a very important physical bond. "Cyberspace relating is a wonderful supplement to IPR [In–Person Relationships], but in the long run it's not ultimately fulfilling as a substitute especially when it comes to intimate relationships. Most people who develop close friendships and romances in cyberspace eventually want and need to meet their friend or lover in–person" (Suler).
