Essay about Higher Education
Higher education is optional, but to enter a respectable career, one must continue their education in
order to achieve his financial and/or personal goals. Teenagers who attend college use their extended
schooling to further obtain knowledge. The primary objective of higher education is to enhance
one's abilities for his future. A student can learn from school in numerous ways, but liberal education
is not a way to attract students into further and higher education. However, students can learn a lot
more through experiences that have affected their personal lives. I agree with author Mike Rose's
theory that education needs are reached to obtain a higher academic level by teaching students
information that can be related to their personal...show more content...
However, he has not thought about the students who want to attend college and quickly earn their
degree so they can start their careers.
I disagree with Bloom because he encourages the idea of taking extra irrelevant classes to achieve
the experience of education. It usually takes about four years to earn a bachelors degree. There are
many courses such as English, math, history, art, etc. that a student must go through before they get
to start on the classes that concentrate on their intended major. These basic courses are part of a
program called general education. After completing general education (which usually takes about
two years), the students can then begin to study for their degree. Colleges should abandon the law
of students having to take general education courses because the courses are irrelevant to their field
of study, unnecessary and a waste of time. Instead of taking the extra courses, students can simply
meet their needs of a degree in a shorter period of time. Also, Bloom not only that wants students to
take general education courses, he wants them to further their education by taking advanced
irrelevant courses. Therefore, in their future, they would have numerous opportunities for a better
career. Because if a job is not right for the student, he would have other choices to obtain a new job.
Rose feels students should not learn from the canon books style. Students have an easier time
learning when they relate to the

International Students Essay example
Differences between American Students and International Students Most young people believe that
studying in a different country is a privilege because they are able to experience other cultures, and
learn from them. However, in the United States it is not as good as they thought because
International students have much more pressure being in this country, and sometimes they cannot
handle it very well. Therefore, in the United States the life of an international student is very
unfavorable if people compare it to the life of an American student. International students have to
learn a new language to study, they cannot work while studying, and their tuition is much more
expensive. When people moves to the United Stated to study they...show more content...
They know their structure and have a very superior vocabulary, so they can compose excellent
essays. In addition, since American students speak English very well, they do not have any
problem participating in class. They have confidence in themselves, so they will not be afraid of
saying something wrong. Consequently, because American students do not have to learn any
language to study their mayor, it is much easier for them to achieve excellent grades. Most
university students feel the necessity of working since they would like to have their own money
in order to be independent from their parents. It is not the exception for International students
because they also feel the necessity of working to be independent from their parents or whoever is
responsible for them. However, for international students to work in the United States it is very
difficult because they are only allowed to work on campus. These kinds of jobs are very limited
since some of the campuses in which they study are very small. Also for an international student to
find a job on campus is difficult because people prefer to employee an American student who is
not going to have any problem speaking the language. For example, last semester a friend from
Venezuela who is studying at Miami Dade College decided that he wanted to get a job in order to
have his own money. He went to

NaivetГ© is ignorance due to a lack of formal education. It would appear that the term naivetГ©
would apply as well to one who was taught, albeit insufficiently. The majority of the human world is
naГЇve and abandoned, causing them to remain that way, whether through inability to access a form
of formal education or through the inabilities of the teachers attempting to teach them. It would
appear that the lack of education is a major problem in the world. The worldwide lack of education
is due mainly to the scarce availability of formal schooling and its limited depth. In many

Therefore, farming becomes a much more time and labor intensive effort, in effect lowering the
maximum yield and profit. When a surplus of an item is readily available, it is cheaper. Because
there is less produce planted and harvested and because it takes longer and more effort, produce
becomes more expensive, which makes it a loss for everyone. Additionally, no two people have
the same potential for inventing, improving, or discovering a piece of modern science. For
example, one person has the potential to come up with an amazing piece of technology or
medicine and execute it well, and he is not able to execute it because he is uneducated. While it
would be idiotic to claim that it would never be fashioned, it is clear that it would take far longer
before its implementation in general society. As a direct result of this, the generalhuman populace of
the world remains in the so–called "Dark Ages" that this discovery could dispel. For example,
imagine the world without Alexander Graham Bell. To contact someone one would have to send
a telegram; conversation with a remotely located person would be impossible. If Thomas Edison
lived in Africa and was uneducated his whole life the world would not exist as we know it. No
computers or calculators or any other electrical device that uses or displays light in some form
would exist. The lack of education is all encompassing and all

Reflective Essay on College Writing
Reflective Essay on College Writing
This semester was my very first semester as a college student. Being the first, it was probably the
semester I would learn the most in. I learned the expectations for writing that I will have to live up
to for the next four years of my college career. Though my high school teachers were usually
demanding because I was in the Honors English section throughout high school, writing in college
has still ?raised the bar? for me. Also, in high school, we would have weeks to pick a topic, create a
thesis, outline the paper, write the paper, and then revise the paper. In college, the timerestraints are
not quite as lenient. I?ve had to learn to manage my time and be more productive with what free

I definitely learned a great deal from our discussions about this book. I really did not like it at all
until the class sat down and analyzed the many levels Conrad addressed in his story. I thought the
endless paradoxes in the book, once brought to light, were actually very interesting. My favorite
section, however, was the poetry unit. I really enjoyed the poem ?The Blues? by Billy Collins the
most because of my respect for music. I think Collins really makes a point in his poem about just
how important music is and how it allows people who are very different to connect on many
levels. I also loved ?Love Calls Us to the Things of This World? by Richard Wilbur. The imagery
in this poem was absolutely amazing, and I adored how he made the ordinary things seem mystical
with his words. I loved how the laundry became angels. If only we could look at the world from
that point of view more often, it would be a much happier place.
The criticisms in college have even been somewhat enjoyable and interesting to read. I think I
began to like the stories and poems we read in class more and more as we discussed them and
looked at different authorities? opinions. I found a lot of the information in the databases very
useful. For the Antigone research project, the JSTORS database gave me hundreds of articles
dealing with my topic. I could narrow down what I was looking for and find numerous

Essay about Business Administration
Business Administration
The idea of studying business administration has appealed to me greatly and has encouraged me to
further develop my education following this path. I have a keen enthusiasm to pursue a degree in
Business Administration as I enjoy the challenges it sets and find the many different areas of
business you are able to branch out into, very exciting! From research about the subject I'm
expecting to greatly further my learning of how businesses operate and be able to then put my
knowledge into practice. I am confident within myself and find communication with others easy. I

I.C.T for A.S Level as I recognise that a skill for information technology is useful, if not essential,
for the progression of business in modern society. During the year I am studying my three A levels,
I have also decided to study Business Studies at A.S Level, due to an increase in eagerness to pursue
the subject but also to ensure I have a basic understanding of business operations for further use in
my learning in University.
I have managed to balance my 'A' Levels with a part–time job and an enjoyable school and social
life, which has not only developed my skills of working as part of a team and organising my time
efficiently but has also left me with experience of responsibility and leadership, when being chosen
to supervise a particular area of the business I work in. I have been involved in voluntary work for

My College Experience Essay examples
My College Experience
Throughout my lifetime I have listened to people reflect back on their college experiences and
explain how college is supposed to be "the best experience of your life." The summer after my senior
year I use to try and imagine what my first semester was going to be like based on what I had heard
people talk about in the past. After my first semester at NC State I realized that I couldn't fully
understand what college was like until I experienced it for myself. My first couple of weeks at
Ohio State was rough and really tested my strength (mental and physical). I faced challenges and
obstacles that I had never heard about in those past college experience conversations. All of a

I can remember missing 8:05 classes because I stayed out too late the night before. In high school the
teacher would constantly remind the students when certain assignments were due, but this was not
the case in college. I learned that the hard way my first semester. Sometimes I forgot to turn in an
assignment because I didn't properly read my syllabus and my professor never mentioned it. These
were all new problems that could have easily let escalate without taking the proper actions. For the
most part I was doing fairly well but a few of my grades began to plummet. I was losing the
confidence in myself and started to wonder if going to college had been the best decision. The time
had come for me to grow up and become an adult even I didn't feel the time was right. I immediately
began attending tutoring sessions, working with peers and also keeping a daily to–do list. These
factors were the eventually led to drastic improvement and success. After my first semester I
learned how better manage my time, take advantage of campus resources and also how to organize
myself better. These struggles also taught me that sometimes I try and rush through things instead
of taking my time. I realized that one of my strong points is being able to really do well when my
back is against the wall. Although I was unhappy while facing obstacles I am happy I experienced
them. I believe this experience was the reason for my

Reflective Essay
I have been taking Expository Writing for 4 months. I have found that I need to be able to
communicate myself in writing. I must relay exactly what I'm trying to put forth to others and
convey the right message of understanding. I must be able to explain myself, negotiate, and work
in teams. My language skills can be worked on and improved. I need to be able to pick up the
language of whatever environment I'm in whether it be at work or school, or in society. Since
everyone does not have the same background, learning how to write the written word is important
in any environment. I have learned how to write and express myself, how to think for myself, and
how to find answers to things I do not know. Most important I have learned how to believe in my
writing.
I was very hesitant in taking this English class, I have not taken an English class in many years.
When I took the placement test for reading and English, I tested out of all categories. I was proud
of myself for that feat. When I found I was going to have to take a college level English class, I
avoided it at all costs. Too much pressure. However, I have learned about the Rhetorical Essay
was to understand how an author writes and not focus on what the content is. Knowing the
explanation of what techniques and author uses to make their point come across to the intended
audience. I learned about Argumentative Research Paper is to debate both sides of an issue. The
intent is to be unbiased and state the facts on either side. I learned about Public Piece with
Presentation is meant to deliver an effective presentation to engage your audience. Your audience
listens to not only what you are saying but your visual engagement in the topic being presented.
Also, the point of the class is to be able to work with others to achieve a desired outcome or task.
To know that I can work with others in a cohesive environment to draw on everyone's input and
views. This will assist me in the real work of life and assist in handling many types of people and
myself in communicating.
I have never been a good writer; however, I have learned that communication is not the same when
writing. Having a conversation about aliens

Equally important to the characteristics of a mentally healthy individual, in today's fast–paced

Many prominent theorists have argued that perceptions of the self, the world, and the future are
essential for mental health. Yet much research evidence suggests that overly positive

characteristics of normal human thought. Moreover, these illusions seem to promote other criteria
of mental health, including, the ability to care about others, be happy or contented, and to engage in

question that lingers through the air. Should we really be accepting of other people? To answer
the question, yes! Although this does speak from opinion, it's essential to be accepting of others.
It's understandable to find laboriousness when looking through others, but we need to remember
the reasons why it's imperative. To start off, we're all the same! We're all people, but sometimes,
we seem to overlook that part of us. We all process the same way, and I feel as if that's a good
enough reason to find acceptance. Something else to remember is that we all have emotions. When

How to Be A Good Student Essay
How to Be A Good Student
To become a success in life, we all need to learn to become a good student in every aspect of life.
Becoming a good student takes much work and self–discipline. There are many ways that a student
can stand out from the rest of the class. These good students are distinguished by their attitude,
intellectual skills, consciousness, and achievement.
Attitude is primarily a genuine desire to learn and the will to do hard academic work to achieve
understanding. It is also shown by how well you apply yourself even to subjects in which you have
little interest and how much you can achieve even when a teacher's style is not what you are used to.
Also attitude can change the way you percieveperceive things...show more content...
No one else can help you to attain a good attitude, you must decide and make it a goal to have a
good attitude in your student life. (CS)
Intellectual skills is (S–V Agr) another important aspect of becoming a good student. This skill
includes the ability to read and understand, intelligent use of resources, mathematical and logical
skills, efficient study habits, and the ability to communicate clearly and fluently. Intellectual skills
include time management, exam strategies, study strategies, and goal setting.
Consciousness, or awareness, is another helpful aspect of becoming a good student. The good
student must be aware of their (agr) surroundings and know what is going on in the world around
them. We must strive to relate what is happening around us to what we are learning. This should be
important to us because we should care about what is going on politically, academically, socially,
and spiritually. Being aware and paying attention is a good trait to continually learn and apply.
Achievement is demonstrated by successful application of understanding. This aspect includes using
correct and confident knowledge, effective communication, and continuanceing of education through
out your life. Achievement gives you a sense of accomplishment and meaning. To become a good
student, this must be a goal that you wish to accomplish.
Becoming a good student can be time consuming but well worth

Online Education
Education is an important part of people's lives; it will either make them or break them in the future
depending on the careers they choose. Education is greatly diverse today in comparison to the 1950s
because of advancements in teaching and other great inventions that provide easier techniques of
teaching. One major issue that has been raised is distant learning courses and online education.
Distant learning could be any format from VHS videos, DVDs, or internet courses online. Online
education has been legal since 1993 and is a new way of teaching students of all ages. Online
education has been gaining popularity through out the years because of the ease of the internet. The

Discussion on issues is done in chat rooms and forums where everybody writes their views on the
issue. This is an advantage for foreigners who can not speak proper English correctly. Live video
and sound can also be done with special equipment for a real time conversation with instructors and
peers.
Other features on the online courses are the learning aides that can be used while taking the course.
Certain programs can be made such as flash cards and games which can increase the learning
experience of the student. These learning aides can be done on the student's time and does not
require the teacher to be there.
Time for a face to face class is very difficult if a person works 40 hours a week but an online course
can put an ease on the time restriction because the person does the work at their own pace and
time. It is also easier to sign up for an online class than a class at a college. Message boards are in
use if the students need to leave a question or a comment about the subject their on. They also save
time by not traveling to the college and trying to find a parking space.
Rural areas where students have to travel a great distance to get to class can save time and money
by doing online classes. For example, a child of a farmer can help the family out in the morning
with the farming chores then go to an online class later on. Rural kids may also take additional
educational classes online that their school does not

Everything Wrong With School In 10 Minutes or Less!
When I was twelve, I had no appreciation for school. I saw it as nothing more as a glorified
daycare center with all the rules and regulations specifically designed to restrict as much fun as
possible. Then one day in the ninth grade, I had a revelation: what if school was actually meant to
build me up with knowledge and facts and not just waste my time? This was the foundation I
needed to get me through the next four years. Whenever I was bored, I would remind myself that I
'd never have a "free" education like this again. I adapted particularly well to this system of tests,
quizzes, and science labs but I could never understand the hang up some people had with it. School
was basic and easy and all it seemed to require was consistency an+d proper scheduling. I looked at
people who couldn 't understand US History or Geometry and I thought they were dumb. It wasn 't
until much later with much more reflection that I came to conclude there 's a difference between
how you score on the SATs and how smart you actually are. Education isn 't necessarily a direct line
to becoming intelligent and knowledgeable; education is nothing more than an institution designed
to equip people with subsets of specialized processing methodologies, algorithms, and a fair bit of
esoteric trivia. Furthermore, the current educational system in place is inefficient because of its rigid
nature.

How to Analyze an Expository Essay
Expository writing, in general, is present everywhere. When you pick up a magazine or examine a
newspaper article on the newsstand, you are reading a form of exposition because the author's
main purpose of writing that article or essay is to inform the reader about a topic. In the classroom,
many students are required to produce research papers about a specific topic, such as migration
patterns of birds. The purpose of that research paper is to inform the reader, the teacher, about what
are the migratory patterns of birds. Finally, at the workplace, many people are required to create
business reports and memorandums to inform their supervisors and co–workers about the company's
finances and progress. In order to analyze these expository...show more content...
"Good" directions for a process essay should satisfy the following criteria: clear, concise,
organized, and acknowledges common mistakes. Within the model essay itself, it satisfies all of
these requirements. The text describes, "when you find water becoming extremely hot (or
cold)," the homeowner suggests that the guest, "exit the tub promptly while using a sweeping
motion with one arm to push shower curtain aside"(Frazier 303). This piece of direction is clear
because it plainly informs the guest on the actual action they have to perform in order to prevent
hot or cold water from burning or freezing the guest. It is also concise because it does not include
any irrelevant information pertaining to avoiding burning or freezing the guest. This essay is
organized because when the author listed out his or her directions, he or she listed them out in
chronological order. Lastly, "How to Operate the Shower Curtain" acknowledges common
mistakes, such as "REMEMBER TO KEEP SHOWER CURTAIN INSIDE TUB AT ALL TIMES!"
(Frasier 303). The author is cautioning the guest to keep the shower curtain within the bath tub no
matter what. The reason for determining the kind of expository essay it is to help in determining
the purpose of the exposition as a whole. Next, the third step to analyzing an expository essay is to

You ever hear someone say they have swagger? A lot of times people's swagger is determined
from their style. For example, everyone has a specific style of fashion. If you put on some cargo
shorts with a tank top and slides you're probably not going to a job interview. Just like anything else,
writing has different expressions. Writing is a form of communication; the person is writing to
inform, persuade, describe, or tell a story. There are four main types of writing styles, expository,
persuasive, descriptive, and narrative. We then choose what we want to read according to our
interest in each category.

Its name might as well give it away. Think of a closing argument in a court case being presented
to a jury. Each party's counsel is presenting a persuasive writing in the form of a speech. In this
type of writing the writer uses choice words in a cohesive manner in order to "sway" or persuade
the reader. You will most commonly come across this type of writing in advertisement. With that
being said, persuasive writing is all around us. This type of communication may consist of the
writer's opinions, but the best form also includes facts to back up his or her statements. With
attempts to get consumers to purchase specific products, we see persuasive writings all around us in
today's world.

used to portray a vivid, detailed experience, person, place, or thing, is third of the writing styles.
This style of writing requires strong observation skills to convey the writer's point of view. In

Expository Essay Samples For College

  • 1. Essay about Higher Education Higher education is optional, but to enter a respectable career, one must continue their education in order to achieve his financial and/or personal goals. Teenagers who attend college use their extended schooling to further obtain knowledge. The primary objective of higher education is to enhance one's abilities for his future. A student can learn from school in numerous ways, but liberal education is not a way to attract students into further and higher education. However, students can learn a lot more through experiences that have affected their personal lives. I agree with author Mike Rose's theory that education needs are reached to obtain a higher academic level by teaching students information that can be related to their personal...show more content... However, he has not thought about the students who want to attend college and quickly earn their degree so they can start their careers. I disagree with Bloom because he encourages the idea of taking extra irrelevant classes to achieve the experience of education. It usually takes about four years to earn a bachelors degree. There are many courses such as English, math, history, art, etc. that a student must go through before they get to start on the classes that concentrate on their intended major. These basic courses are part of a program called general education. After completing general education (which usually takes about two years), the students can then begin to study for their degree. Colleges should abandon the law of students having to take general education courses because the courses are irrelevant to their field of study, unnecessary and a waste of time. Instead of taking the extra courses, students can simply meet their needs of a degree in a shorter period of time. Also, Bloom not only that wants students to take general education courses, he wants them to further their education by taking advanced irrelevant courses. Therefore, in their future, they would have numerous opportunities for a better career. Because if a job is not right for the student, he would have other choices to obtain a new job. Rose feels students should not learn from the canon books style. Students have an easier time learning when they relate to the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. International Students Essay example Differences between American Students and International Students Most young people believe that studying in a different country is a privilege because they are able to experience other cultures, and learn from them. However, in the United States it is not as good as they thought because International students have much more pressure being in this country, and sometimes they cannot handle it very well. Therefore, in the United States the life of an international student is very unfavorable if people compare it to the life of an American student. International students have to learn a new language to study, they cannot work while studying, and their tuition is much more expensive. When people moves to the United Stated to study they...show more content... They know their structure and have a very superior vocabulary, so they can compose excellent essays. In addition, since American students speak English very well, they do not have any problem participating in class. They have confidence in themselves, so they will not be afraid of saying something wrong. Consequently, because American students do not have to learn any language to study their mayor, it is much easier for them to achieve excellent grades. Most university students feel the necessity of working since they would like to have their own money in order to be independent from their parents. It is not the exception for International students because they also feel the necessity of working to be independent from their parents or whoever is responsible for them. However, for international students to work in the United States it is very difficult because they are only allowed to work on campus. These kinds of jobs are very limited since some of the campuses in which they study are very small. Also for an international student to find a job on campus is difficult because people prefer to employee an American student who is not going to have any problem speaking the language. For example, last semester a friend from Venezuela who is studying at Miami Dade College decided that he wanted to get a job in order to have his own money. • 3. NaivetГ© is ignorance due to a lack of formal education. It would appear that the term naivetГ© would apply as well to one who was taught, albeit insufficiently. The majority of the human world is naГЇve and abandoned, causing them to remain that way, whether through inability to access a form of formal education or through the inabilities of the teachers attempting to teach them. It would appear that the lack of education is a major problem in the world. The worldwide lack of education is due mainly to the scarce availability of formal schooling and its limited depth. In many underdeveloped countries, there is no formal education or schooling available. Because there is often no public school option in those countries, the only possible...show more content... Therefore, farming becomes a much more time and labor intensive effort, in effect lowering the maximum yield and profit. When a surplus of an item is readily available, it is cheaper. Because there is less produce planted and harvested and because it takes longer and more effort, produce becomes more expensive, which makes it a loss for everyone. Additionally, no two people have the same potential for inventing, improving, or discovering a piece of modern science. For example, one person has the potential to come up with an amazing piece of technology or medicine and execute it well, and he is not able to execute it because he is uneducated. While it would be idiotic to claim that it would never be fashioned, it is clear that it would take far longer before its implementation in general society. As a direct result of this, the generalhuman populace of the world remains in the so–called "Dark Ages" that this discovery could dispel. For example, imagine the world without Alexander Graham Bell. To contact someone one would have to send a telegram; conversation with a remotely located person would be impossible. If Thomas Edison lived in Africa and was uneducated his whole life the world would not exist as we know it. No computers or calculators or any other electrical device that uses or displays light in some form would exist. The lack of education is all encompassing and all Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Reflective Essay on College Writing Reflective Essay on College Writing This semester was my very first semester as a college student. Being the first, it was probably the semester I would learn the most in. I learned the expectations for writing that I will have to live up to for the next four years of my college career. Though my high school teachers were usually demanding because I was in the Honors English section throughout high school, writing in college has still ?raised the bar? for me. Also, in high school, we would have weeks to pick a topic, create a thesis, outline the paper, write the paper, and then revise the paper. In college, the timerestraints are not quite as lenient. I?ve had to learn to manage my time and be more productive with what free moments I...show more content... I definitely learned a great deal from our discussions about this book. I really did not like it at all until the class sat down and analyzed the many levels Conrad addressed in his story. I thought the endless paradoxes in the book, once brought to light, were actually very interesting. My favorite section, however, was the poetry unit. I really enjoyed the poem ?The Blues? by Billy Collins the most because of my respect for music. I think Collins really makes a point in his poem about just how important music is and how it allows people who are very different to connect on many levels. I also loved ?Love Calls Us to the Things of This World? by Richard Wilbur. The imagery in this poem was absolutely amazing, and I adored how he made the ordinary things seem mystical with his words. I loved how the laundry became angels. If only we could look at the world from that point of view more often, it would be a much happier place. The criticisms in college have even been somewhat enjoyable and interesting to read. I think I began to like the stories and poems we read in class more and more as we discussed them and looked at different authorities? opinions. I found a lot of the information in the databases very useful. For the Antigone research project, the JSTORS database gave me hundreds of articles dealing with my topic. I could narrow down what I was looking for and find numerous Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Essay about Business Administration Business Administration The idea of studying business administration has appealed to me greatly and has encouraged me to further develop my education following this path. I have a keen enthusiasm to pursue a degree in Business Administration as I enjoy the challenges it sets and find the many different areas of business you are able to branch out into, very exciting! I am studying Media Studies, which is progressing my understanding of advertising, used throughout business and also Geography, which is developing my analytical skills in report writing, but also helps me combine my theoretical studies and practical work a skill I will be able to use on my university course. I studied I.T for G.C.S.E then furthering my knowledge, I studied I.C.T for A.S Level as I recognise that a skill for information technology is useful, if not essential, for the progression of business in modern society. During the year I am studying my three A levels, I have also decided to study Business Studies at A.S Level, due to an increase in eagerness to pursue the subject but also to ensure I have a basic understanding of business operations for further use in my learning in University. I have managed to balance my 'A' Levels with a part–time job and an enjoyable school and social life, which has not only developed my skills of working as part of a team and organising my time efficiently but has also left me with experience of responsibility and leadership, when being chosen to supervise a particular area of the business I work in. • 6. My College Experience Essay examples My College Experience Throughout my lifetime I have listened to people reflect back on their college experiences and explain how college is supposed to be "the best experience of your life." The summer after my senior year I use to try and imagine what my first semester was going to be like based on what I had heard people talk about in the past. After my first semester at NC State I realized that I couldn't fully understand what college was like until I experienced it for myself. My first couple of weeks at Ohio State was rough and really tested my strength (mental and physical). I faced challenges and obstacles that I had never heard about in those past college experience conversations. All of a sudden there was no one to get me out of...show more content... I can remember missing 8:05 classes because I stayed out too late the night before. In high school the teacher would constantly remind the students when certain assignments were due, but this was not the case in college. I learned that the hard way my first semester. Sometimes I forgot to turn in an assignment because I didn't properly read my syllabus and my professor never mentioned it. These were all new problems that could have easily let escalate without taking the proper actions. For the most part I was doing fairly well but a few of my grades began to plummet. I was losing the confidence in myself and started to wonder if going to college had been the best decision. The time had come for me to grow up and become an adult even I didn't feel the time was right. I immediately began attending tutoring sessions, working with peers and also keeping a daily to–do list. These factors were the eventually led to drastic improvement and success. After my first semester I learned how better manage my time, take advantage of campus resources and also how to organize myself better. These struggles also taught me that sometimes I try and rush through things instead of taking my time. I realized that one of my strong points is being able to really do well when my back is against the wall. Although I was unhappy while facing obstacles I am happy I experienced them. • 7. Reflection Of Expository Writing Erwyn Suruy December 9, 2017 Eng 111 Reflective Essay I have been taking Expository Writing for 4 months. I have found that I need to be able to communicate myself in writing. I must relay exactly what I'm trying to put forth to others and convey the right message of understanding. I must be able to explain myself, negotiate, and work in teams. My language skills can be worked on and improved. I need to be able to pick up the language of whatever environment I'm in whether it be at work or school, or in society. Since everyone does not have the same background, learning how to write the written word is important in any environment. I have learned how to write and express myself, how to think for myself, and how to find answers to things I do not know. Most important I have learned how to believe in my writing. I was very hesitant in taking this English class, I have not taken an English class in many years. When I took the placement test for reading and English, I tested out of all categories. I was proud of myself for that feat. When I found I was going to have to take a college level English class, I avoided it at all costs. Too much pressure. However, I have learned about the Rhetorical Essay was to understand how an author writes and not focus on what the content is. Knowing the explanation of what techniques and author uses to make their point come across to the intended audience. I learned about Argumentative Research Paper is to debate both sides of an issue. The intent is to be unbiased and state the facts on either side. I learned about Public Piece with Presentation is meant to deliver an effective presentation to engage your audience. Your audience listens to not only what you are saying but your visual engagement in the topic being presented. Also, the point of the class is to be able to work with others to achieve a desired outcome or task. To know that I can work with others in a cohesive environment to draw on everyone's input and views. This will assist me in the real work of life and assist in handling many types of people and myself in communicating. I have never been a good writer; however, I have learned that communication is not the same when writing. Having a conversation about aliens Get more content on HelpWriting.net

While in Middle School, I struggle with my appearance which has stayed as an adult. For I always look at myself and all the flaws in my features, as my family members and/or friends state my beauty features, I will brushed them off by stating the negative feature I visually observe. Until recently, I've overcome my inability of reading in public and/or to my peers. Many prominent theorists have argued that perceptions of the self, the world, and the future are essential for mental health. Yet much research evidence suggests that overly positive self–evaluations, exaggerated perceptions of control or mastery, and unrealistic optimism are characteristics of normal human thought. Moreover, these illusions seem to promote other criteria of mental health, including, the ability to care about others, be happy or contented, and to engage in productive and creative work. Should we really be accepting of other people? To answer the question, yes! Although this does speak from opinion, it's essential to be accepting of others. It's understandable to find laboriousness when looking through others, but we need to remember the reasons why it's imperative. To start off, we're all the same! We're all people, but sometimes, we seem to overlook that part of us. We all process the same way, and I feel as if that's a good enough reason to find acceptance. Certain programs can be made such as flash cards and games which can increase the learning experience of the student. School was basic and easy and all it seemed to require was consistency an+d proper scheduling. I looked at people who couldn 't understand US History or Geometry and I thought they were dumb. It wasn 't until much later with much more reflection that I came to conclude there 's a difference between how you score on the SATs and how smart you actually are.
