Persuasive Essay On Animal Rights
Each day tons of animals are forcefully put through dozens of tests in hopes to help humans in the
long run. Animals are unable to consent to any form of the research or testing that takes place on
their bodies. As a result, many researchers overuse animals everyday, injecting them with many
different vaccines or even pouring harsh chemicals on their skin to see the results. They are
constantly subjected to painful tests everyday all over the globe. There has been tons of research
that have come to a conclusion that animal research potentially does not benefit humans due to the
fact that humans have a different anatomy than some animals. As a result, many researchers overuse
animals everyday, injecting them with many different vaccines or even pouring harsh chemicals on
their skin to see the results, all in hopes of creating new solutions to diseases and other things
humans face everyday. Animals have basic rights much like humans. Humans continuously decide
the fate of animals within a research lab, thus removing these rights. Animals, as stated, "Do not
willing sacrifice themselves for the advancement of human welfare and technology" ("Save the
Animals: Stop Animal Testing"). Creatures are forcefully pushed into tests that may or may not
benefit humans. Animals are constantly put into situations they can not legally consent to because
"they cannot vocalize their preferences and choices" ("Save the Animals: Stop Animal Testing").
Unlike humans, animals have no voice and

Do animals have the right to a certain quality of life? How would your views change if our cooks
got treated the same way cattle and poultry do? How would you feel about them being beaten and
brought to their knees just to be detained to know how to cook todays specials? You might think
that the food industry has no issues and no faults behind their tasty food, but when you open up the
meat curtain, there is a different kind of world out there that is cruel and inhumane. In Robert
Kenner's 2008 film, Food, Inc., He shows the conditions that cows, chickens, and pigs have to live
in. The dark and closeted homes in which the animals are closely compacted together and eating,
sleeping, and walking in their own manure. As a person who would consider themselves an animal
rights activist, most people would agree that the food industry treats their animals like products
instead of living things. Let's take chicken farming as an example. Chickens are injected with
growth hormones to make their breasts bigger for human consumption. The film showed
chickens that were abnormally large. These modified chickens can only walk a few steps before
having to sit back down because they can't carry their own weight for too long. Some farmers will
recycle the dead carcasses of the animals into the feed for herbivores on the farm. So plant eating
animals will be eating the meat of a dead carcass. Animals could get sick or contract a disease from
the dead animals. This infection would soon get

Dog. Cat. Mouse. Hamster. Horse. You animal lovers out there know that the bond you make with
an animal is something unbreakable. Their loyalty and overall joy when they see you just lights
up your day. Think back to your childhood pet. Remember that feeling you would get when you
came home from a long day of school and your pet came running up to you radiating their love for
you. Immediately turning your frown upside down. Your pet is your friend not something you own.
It is a needed companion that lights up your life. Imagine your childhood pet being caged, tortured,
dissected, brutally murdered, or much much worse. These horrific actions are repeatedly happening
to sweet innocent animals all across the globe. Which is why we need to move to gain more rights
for the world's animals and stop animal testing, inhumane animal treatment in food industry, animal
abuse, dog fighting, and even animals enlisted in the circus. Close your eyes. Count to 2. In that
time an animal was abused by one of the heinous acts listed along with many other inhumane action.
In the time my speech will take over 500 helpless animals would have been abused in the all over
the world. These animals don't have a voice to stop this horrible action being taken towards them. Be
their voice. Achieve higher animal rights in order to save millions of helpless lives.

Rights are when people believe that animals should have the rights to live free from being hunted,
medical research, and from being eaten. Animals need this right because many people mistreat
animals. How do the animalsĐ’Ň‘ right differ from what they need for a suitable life? A suitable life
for an animal is a clean and loving environment. "The space they are given is too small, and it

Animals need rights because they can't just speak for themselves. An animal can't just tell them to
stop abusing them, even if they bark or meow or whine. "Concerns about the treatment of pets may
reflect campaigns to stop cruelty toward these animals by organizations such as the American
Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals"( Lewis). The cruelty organization is starting to
branch out with animal rights. The organization is starting to get people to get on board with not
eating animals. Also, not to abuse any animals, exotic or home pets. "Some animal rights advocates
reject all animal use, no matter how humane. Some have even suggested that animal welfare reforms
impede progress toward animal rights because they improve the conditions under which "animal
exploitation" occurs, making it more difficult to stimulate public opposition to animal use" (Staff,
Fur Commission USA). Animals welfare is almost like animals right but it is just about the welfare
of the animals ( basically abuse) not about eating them. "At its deepest level, human ethics is based
on the independent value of the individual: The moral worth of any one animal is not to be
measured by how useful that person is in advancing the interest of another animal. To treat animals in
ways that do not honor their independent value is to violate that most basic of animals rights: the
right of each other with respect" (Regan). Animals Rights are about animals need these rights

Animal rights
Introduction
In ancient years, philosophers had a lot to say about how humans treat animals. However, experts in
social sciences have taken part in issues concerning humans and other animals. Every year,
thousands of animals are in a tormented, and then died during the animal experiments. Another fact
is from Vivisection Information Network, there is a rough estimate from the European Union that
10.5 million vertebrate animals were used in animal experiments, which is 28,800 per day or one
every three seconds. Around 18.5 million animals were used in the USA per year (Updated, 2013).
And also the evidence in the emerging field of Human–Animal study, (HAS), shows that animal
protection is not taken seriously. A review of Marxist realism, feminism, ecofeminism, social
constructionist theorists and approaches that shows the human–animal study is highly concerned.
Animal protection movement involves animal welfare, animal liberation, and animal rights. Our
focus on this argument will be on animal rights....show more content...
This is incorrect because animals have feelings, and some have a measure of speech. In addition,
some take care of their young ones and protect each other. This proves that similar to humans animals
also have feelings, desires and emotions, and, therefore, deserve to have rights. According to Rene
Descartes, every being that has a mind deserves to be treated fairly because it shows that the animal
has the ability to think rationally. Charles Darwin, who came up with the theory of existence through
evolution, came up with a hypothesis that shows a correlation between humans and nonhuman
beings. In his hypothesis, he concluded that animals have emotions and feelings that have evolved
the same way as humans' emotions (Francione & Garner,

For thousands of years, animals have served the human race, whether it be for food, clothing,
companionship, or laborious tasks. However, it wasn't until 1966 that animals in the United States
gained rights recognized by the government. The Animal Welfare Act protects the rights of cats,
dogs, livestock, and various mammals from inhumane treatment and regulates their transportation,
sale, and handling. Toanimal rights activists, this vague piece of legislation is simply not adequate.
Animals such as birds and rodents are not even mentioned, and many of the animals that are
supposed to be protected by this law are still the victims of cruel experimentation and exploited by
inhumane factories. Vigorous action has been taken by groups commonly identified as terrorists,
such as the Animal Liberation Front, but with no long–term effects such as improvements made on
existing laws. They argue that sentient beings––animals capable of emotions––should be protected
by the same legislation that governs humans. It is vital that new laws are created and enforced in
order to end the cruel and inhumane treatment of animals in the United States. In this paper I will
argue that animals do deserve extensive rights, maybe not necessarily rights to the extent that some
activists fight for, but definitely an improvement needs to be made on the existing law and there
needs to be stronger enforcement of it. Right now, animals are not treated humanely in the majority
of factories or really at

Have you ever seen a tiger jump through hoops in the wild, or do hard tricks because they want
to? I didn't think so that's because they don't want to. Animals are forced to learn these tricks by
using a shock collar, whips, electric prods, etc. Puppy's are being kept in a puppy mill, animals
are being neglected and abused. I have basically had a zoo at my house, I have 3 birds, 1 chicken,
2 fish, 1 puppy and I don't want them to feel like they are neglected and it hurts me when I see that
Animals are being neglected.
While all of my research that I did on animal rights I wanted to find helpful information and guess
what I found... Helpful information. So I asked myself some questions. Is there anything that can
help animals? Can I do anything about? So I made a driving question and it was What can society
do to solve this problem about Animal rights? I was looking up things about this topic and I found a
lot of things that can help to prevent or at least help animal rights.
The problem is that people are neglecting, abusing, and even get up to the point of killing the
animals. The reasons why people started to protest is because other people started to use animal fur,
killed animals for food, killed cows for leather, and animal habitats were being destroyed. According
to Britannica school people started to protest about animal right in the 1970.
The animals that are being most abused are pets and zoo animals. A lot of people are concerned
about these animals

People go to zoos and aquariums and think nothing of the animals. One pays to see the lion do
absolutely nothing, and it does this because it knows that this day is no different than every other
day. Animals may have given birth recently, yet one sees the baby because it has been taken and
sold off to another zoo. Some may argue that zoos and Aquariums are the source to why animals live
longer. Although it has been proven, that even while being incaptivity, "many animals suffer
mentally from their fellows' death," that is because "not all animals in zoos live to old age, or
sadly cannot be allowed to" (Bostock 65). Furthermore, when a lion's only cellmate passes away, it
causes depression. It is the details that visitors aren't bothered to think or even ask about. People do
not wonder about the cruelty these animals suffer and their behavior, which is why I strongly stand
by change being made to accommodate these animals' rights.
In the previous paragraph, I mentioned captive animals, as being "cellmates." It may seem a bit
odd to refer to them as that, and to some it may be cruel. But there is a specific reason to why I
did that. Animals aren't decorations, things, or jokes. They are all living things and deserve the
same respect we as humans possess. If one was to think about zoos and aquariums as prisons, a lot
would make sense. A prison consists of 4 walls where one cannot get out, that is until one's sentence
is done. An inmate is fed 2–3 times a day and one can

sweet animal that did nothing but act like any other normal dog. Adults do not need etiquette tips

certainly should not provoke the animal and/or continue to remain within close proximity to said
animal. Obviously, animals can sense when a person is petrified and may translate that sense into
an alert to danger, which may cause an undesirable action. IF our dog were to ever bite, hurt, attack

Imagine one minute running freely on the vast green terrain surrounding you, then the next locked
up in a cold, hard, cage. It sounds horrible, right? Who would want to be locked up with minimal
area to stretch your legs, and have people staring at you constantly? I for one, would hate that. I
imagine that most animals locked up would share the same feelings. I personally, am against
animals being caged. They do not deserve that kind of lifestyle and should not have to live with it
just because humans pay money to see it. Animals are suffering greatly from being locked away.
When an animal is bought, traded or given to a zoo, the animals rights are stripped away from them.
Zoos do not really have an animal's best interest at heart. If they truly did, then those animals
would not be caged in the first place. They would not take animals out their natural habit and
deprive them of their instincts. No longer are the animals able to run, hunt, dig, forage or even
select a mate. If all of your instincts were taken from you, how would you feel? If you were no
longer able to read, write, and talk how would you make it in life? My answer to that question, is
not very far. Without those basic skills, we are taught from birth, us humans would not make it far in
this world. It is the same thing for animals also.
Like humans' animals suffer from depression, anxiety, sadness, happiness, and many other
emotions. Caged animals suffer the worst of it from these emotions. Have you ever seen an
animal pace back and forth, rock, or sway side to side in their cage on a trip to the zoo? If so, then
take note that the animal is suffering greatly. They are most likely suffering from a disease called
zoochosis. The poor animal is physically and mentally worn out from being held capacitive. Some
zoos have resulted to giving them human drugs such as Prozac to help them with their condition. A
condition that the animal would never have if it was not caged to begin with. What has the world
come to when innocent animals are drugged? What about when innocent animals are killed for
humans' careless mistakes? A gorilla at the Dallas Zoo named Jabari was fatally shot by the police
after he tried to jump over the wall of his enclosure. A

Common methods include keeping the animals in a very confined space and feeding the animals
with hormones to improve the texture of their meat and the taste of their milk. This method rarely
gives the animals any space to move or exercise and limits the interactions with other animals.
Veganism is not consuming or buying anything that is animal base or tested on. Vegetarianism is
a less extreme version of that and will sometimes eat some animal products and will use animal
products too. Many organizations, like PETA and ASPCA, have tried to fight in court for the
rights of animals but not many cases have been won. Organizations like the ALF in Britain have
gone to many testing facilities and tried to get all the animals to safety by rescuing them (Wagner
and Rich 1). Nonhuman animals and humans have been compared to each other for years, and
their mental capacity has been one of the reasons why they are tested on. However, those same
people who test animals will say that animals should not have rights because they do not feel the
same way we do about things. In the article "Animals Deserve the Same Rights as Humans" by
Heather Newton and Micah Issitt, it says that "While the capacity of animals to experience pain can
be scientifically demonstrated, the capacity of animals to experience emotion is not as easily
quantified. Many humans, especially pet owners, believe from the anecdotal evidence that animals

The Earth is a big family; all the creatures are related to each other. Although other creatures
beside human beings do not have sophisticated language ability, they have similar emotion sense
like us. I love animals, and I was a volunteer at an animal shelter in Taiwan. One of my cats was
from there. I remembered when I met her the first time she looked skinny and weak. She was
terrified of people, and her eyes revealed sad emotion. After a period of time under my careful care,
she gradually became different. She is full of vitality now. She started to believe that human beings
and she still lives with us now.
Thus, I believe if we treat animals with kindness, they can feel it. I regard a cat's key ring as my
spiritual symbol; it means I will protect them all my life. When I see news that is related to animal
abuse, I feel particularly sad, especially when it is about animal testing. According to the survey,
there is an estimation of 26 million animals suffered every year in the United States because of
scientific and commercial testing. Those animals are usually born in a laboratory. They are born for
the purpose of drug testing, and they do not have the right to choose. I think all animals have their
rights to live in a healthy body. Therefore, if animal testing is prohibited, animals will get their
liberation and freedom.
Animals have their rights. According to Tom Regan, "To be for animals is not to be against
humanity. To require others to treat animals justly, as their rights required, is not to ask for
anything more nor less in their case than in the case of any human to whom just treatment is due".
In this world, there are laws and regulations to prohibit human beings using other human beings to
do experiment. However, there are no laws and regulations to protect animals from animal testing.
Do animals have no right to live? Just because animals do not have the responsibility and
obligation as do mankind, does it mean their lives are cheap and insignificant? If all kinds of
tortures in experiments where was do on a child, will human beings still agree?
Animal testing refers to the use of animals other than humans to conduct scientific experiments in

How would you feel if you were used to test drugs, held captive in poor living conditions, and
abused on a daily basis? That is the life of an innocent, helpless animal that can do nothing about
it. Animals deserve the right to live a happy and healthy life, just like humans do. Their rights are
taken away in a number of ways including being physically hurt, living in unfit conditions, and
being part of medical experiments. Animals are living, breathing creatures who are constantly
treated as a piece of property. First of all, most animals are physically abused by humans. Pets are
commonly beaten by their owners. They are denied food, left out in hot cars, and even kicked
around by people in the home. Additionally, people will make animals fight each other to entertain
themselves. "Irish politician Colonel Richard Martin, a dedicated animal rights activist who opposed

Whether it is too small or too unhygienic they have no say in where they stay. For instance, wild
animals in a zoo are kept in smaller environments with inaccurate surroundings. If they were out in
their natural habitat they would have unlimited space to roam and interact with different species.
Also, farm animals used to produce food are kept in areas so small that they don't have any room
to walk around. "In 2010, California passed a measure requiring every egg sold in the state to

Even though some results of tests are successful on people, many people are still fighting for the
animal's rights. They believe that animals should have their own rights to live a free life where
they belong, just like their species. In scientists point of view, animals have been one of the main
subjects to test on, but a lot of them are currently looking forward to use and develop alternatives

More than 90 percent in about 1000 scientists around the world, "felt that animal research is
essential to scientific advancement" (Yoshida, 2011). One of the reasons that animals are used in
labs is because it's affordable, especially mice, since they are "mammals, [...], [they] can be bred
in a controlled manner, [...], kept in a controlled environment", and they don't live long, plus fast
reproduction (LifeVantage, 2017). Even though those are for science purposes and to help improve
people's lives and medicine's quality, no living creature deserves to be locked up and live through
pain, and then thrown away like garbage. Luckily, a lot of scientists nowadays realize that animal
testing is inhumane and not necessary. Until today, thousands to millions of dollars are being
wasted by funding to many studies that are not related to people's lives, or studies that already
proved dangerous to humans. For example, people learned that mercury, arsenic, and lead are toxic
to humans, especially small children; however, the EPA still provided more than $400,000 for
scientists to study on how these contaminants affect animals, by forcing pregnant rats and piglets to

Animal rights is a very complicated issue. It's not fair that they get tortured in a very inhumane way.
Believe it or not that animals feel pain just like humans because we're just a different species of
animals. "Human demand for meat has led to a quicker production for demand, which means the
meat industry production line doesn't stop for anything, especially sick, disabled and not effectively
stunned animals." (Animal Rights) There are many cases of animals being mistreated and countless
videos of them being tortured, getting kicked also bleeding to death. "Animals that are not stunned
correctly are still butchered even when they are still conscious." (Animal Rights) When eating meat,
you're "kidneys work 3x times hard than the kidneys of a vegetarian. There are some cases of
retailers rejecting the meat because of the condition when delivered." (Animal Rights) The demand
of meat is so high because the fast food industry is growing causing more animals to be slaughtered
in an inhumane way and suffering before they even get to the slaughter house. There are many
cases that are not reported and go undocumented showing that the people don't care. "In 2011 there
was an incident in the UK there were footage of pigs being burned, punched and smacked across the
head with sharp paddles was captured by animal welfare campaigners. The government through the

also people that actually don't kill the animal correctly before getting disassembled. Basically, the

because more people are going to fast food restaurants. Due to the fact that animals are being

The first activist was Bryan Pease, a lawyer and the founder of the Animal Protection and Rescue

force–feeding and foie gras production in California. He was one of the four individuals that went
to Senoma Foie Gras Farm and took actual video footage of animal abuse, while also managing to
rescue four birds on the verge of death. While some may believe that force–feeding can be done
humanely, the video depicted thousands of birds packed in filthy crates defecating on each other,
rats eating the defenseless birds alive, and multiple trash cans filled with dead birds, which is
anything but humane. Arnold goes on to interview Dr. Elliot Katz, the founder of In Defense of

The Animal Bill of Rights are laws that provide animals with rights to protect them and their
dignity. Over the years there's been quite a controversy whether if animals should be given rights
and a curiosity about their capabilities and if it's enough for them to be guaranteed the rights that a
human has. Although it has been proven that animals indeed to have feelings and knowledge to their
existence and even causes and effects of life or death, many people in the US still don't agree that
animals should have rights. Many of the people who don't agree are more curious as to what would
happen and the lengths these rights would go for animals and how it would affect the lives of
humans. They laugh at the fact that these rights could possibly apply to all animals even the
smallest ones when it shouldn't be a matter of humor. I think the real reason they laugh is because
they're afraid of what these animals can do that could possibly outsmart humans in any way. These
animals have suffered for years and they finally get to shine and their abuse finally comes to light
and more people are realizing the inhumane acts these poor animals go through.
Animals should be given a Bill of Rights, after all, they have every reason to be guaranteed this
because they've suffered in silence for so long. It is their time now to shine and they finally have
a light and that is the chance in life to live and strive for better in their own habitat. Animals have
been taken advantaged of, abused, and used for experiments for the own public good. If you think
about it they have never been given a voice and they are always discriminated against just because
of some minor factors that separates us such as species. I'm sure if animals could talk just like
humans more people would view these innocent animals in a more decent way but, we shouldn't let
such small factors come between us. Activist and author Jeremy Rifkin of A Change of Heart About

There are universities and schools that use animals to help students understand and learn more of
the animal bodily functions. They do so to give the students more understanding and a more hands

utilized to teach. "When I was in medical school at The George Washington University our
instructor announced that the next week would include 'dog lab,' " said Dr. Barnard (2016).
"That meant that we were to experiment on and kill a perfectly healthy dog." They would kill the
dog like DR. Bernard says and work on it so they could learn and obtain a more hands on
experience. This was a required course for most schools at that time. The schools would penalize or
even expel the students that would refuse to take the animal use courses. He also stated (Dr. Bernard
2016) "At many medical schools, students who refused to participate were penalized or even
expelled." The students

Persuasive Essay On Animal Rights
Children, and some adults enjoy going to an Animal Park, or zoo and seeing animals that they do not
encounter in day–to–day life. For many it can be a learning experience to witness animals from
other areas of the world. What many do not think of is the animal's well being living in captivity.
The documentary "Blackfish" gives an inside look at the animals of SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida,
in particular the Orca whales. The animal's well–being is not thought of in many instances, it is more
about the amusement of the guests who visit. Not to say that animal parks are bad, many are
conservation areas to help keep the population of animals where they should be. May animal
parks also have breeding programs where they release healthy, young animal species back into
the wild to raise endangered species populations. The topic of animal rights while they are in
captivity has always interested me. Since I was a young child I have had a love and interest for
animals, I took every opportunity I could to visit animal parks and anywhere where I could see
animals up close. When I first started to go see animals in captivity I was so amazed at what I
saw, the thought of "are the animals actually happy with life" never came to mind. I now know
how sad and horrible it is to take these animals from the wild and place them in a small enclosure
to live out the rest of their lives. With this project I wanted to see what other peopled thought on this
topic, if it was similar to mine or maybe

Animal Rights Persuasive Essay

  • 1. Persuasive Essay On Animal Rights Each day tons of animals are forcefully put through dozens of tests in hopes to help humans in the long run. Animals are unable to consent to any form of the research or testing that takes place on their bodies. As a result, many researchers overuse animals everyday, injecting them with many different vaccines or even pouring harsh chemicals on their skin to see the results. They are constantly subjected to painful tests everyday all over the globe. There has been tons of research that have come to a conclusion that animal research potentially does not benefit humans due to the fact that humans have a different anatomy than some animals. As a result, many researchers overuse animals everyday, injecting them with many different vaccines or even pouring harsh chemicals on their skin to see the results, all in hopes of creating new solutions to diseases and other things humans face everyday. Animals have basic rights much like humans. Humans continuously decide the fate of animals within a research lab, thus removing these rights. Animals, as stated, "Do not willing sacrifice themselves for the advancement of human welfare and technology" ("Save the Animals: Stop Animal Testing"). Creatures are forcefully pushed into tests that may or may not benefit humans. Animals are constantly put into situations they can not legally consent to because "they cannot vocalize their preferences and choices" ("Save the Animals: Stop Animal Testing"). Unlike humans, animals have no voice and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Persuasive Speech On Animal Rights Do animals have the right to a certain quality of life? How would your views change if our cooks got treated the same way cattle and poultry do? How would you feel about them being beaten and brought to their knees just to be detained to know how to cook todays specials? You might think that the food industry has no issues and no faults behind their tasty food, but when you open up the meat curtain, there is a different kind of world out there that is cruel and inhumane. In Robert Kenner's 2008 film, Food, Inc., He shows the conditions that cows, chickens, and pigs have to live in. The dark and closeted homes in which the animals are closely compacted together and eating, sleeping, and walking in their own manure. As a person who would consider themselves an animal rights activist, most people would agree that the food industry treats their animals like products instead of living things. Let's take chicken farming as an example. Chickens are injected with growth hormones to make their breasts bigger for human consumption. The film showed chickens that were abnormally large. These modified chickens can only walk a few steps before having to sit back down because they can't carry their own weight for too long. Some farmers will recycle the dead carcasses of the animals into the feed for herbivores on the farm. So plant eating animals will be eating the meat of a dead carcass. Animals could get sick or contract a disease from the dead animals. This infection would soon get Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Persuasive Speech On Animal Rights By: Skyelar Nelson A Man's Best Friend Dog. Cat. Mouse. Hamster. Horse. You animal lovers out there know that the bond you make with an animal is something unbreakable. Their loyalty and overall joy when they see you just lights up your day. Think back to your childhood pet. Remember that feeling you would get when you came home from a long day of school and your pet came running up to you radiating their love for you. Immediately turning your frown upside down. Your pet is your friend not something you own. It is a needed companion that lights up your life. Imagine your childhood pet being caged, tortured, dissected, brutally murdered, or much much worse. These horrific actions are repeatedly happening to sweet innocent animals all across the globe. Which is why we need to move to gain more rights for the world's animals and stop animal testing, inhumane animal treatment in food industry, animal abuse, dog fighting, and even animals enlisted in the circus. Close your eyes. Count to 2. In that time an animal was abused by one of the heinous acts listed along with many other inhumane action. In the time my speech will take over 500 helpless animals would have been abused in the all over the world. These animals don't have a voice to stop this horrible action being taken towards them. Be their voice. Achieve higher animal rights in order to save millions of helpless lives. Animal Testing for any scientific or commercial use is a heinous action and should be banned because Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Persuasive Essay On Animal Rights "God loved the birds and invented trees. Man loved the birds and invented cages." ~Jacques Deval. Seeing the animals, their hopeless voice, their bodies being pushed to limit until the end. Animal Rights are when people believe that animals should have the rights to live free from being hunted, medical research, and from being eaten. Animals need this right because many people mistreat animals. How do the animalsĐ’Ň‘ right differ from what they need for a suitable life? A suitable life for an animal is a clean and loving environment. "The space they are given is too small, and it would be no matter how large space they were given because it could not compete with their natural habitat that offers plenty of open roaming space...show more content... Animals need rights because they can't just speak for themselves. An animal can't just tell them to stop abusing them, even if they bark or meow or whine. "Concerns about the treatment of pets may reflect campaigns to stop cruelty toward these animals by organizations such as the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals"( Lewis). The cruelty organization is starting to branch out with animal rights. The organization is starting to get people to get on board with not eating animals. Also, not to abuse any animals, exotic or home pets. "Some animal rights advocates reject all animal use, no matter how humane. Some have even suggested that animal welfare reforms impede progress toward animal rights because they improve the conditions under which "animal exploitation" occurs, making it more difficult to stimulate public opposition to animal use" (Staff, Fur Commission USA). Animals welfare is almost like animals right but it is just about the welfare of the animals ( basically abuse) not about eating them. "At its deepest level, human ethics is based on the independent value of the individual: The moral worth of any one animal is not to be measured by how useful that person is in advancing the interest of another animal. To treat animals in ways that do not honor their independent value is to violate that most basic of animals rights: the right of each other with respect" (Regan). Animals Rights are about animals need these rights because they need to be treat like something that has a Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Argumentative Essay On Animal Rights 2015 Animal rights Introduction In ancient years, philosophers had a lot to say about how humans treat animals. However, experts in social sciences have taken part in issues concerning humans and other animals. Every year, thousands of animals are in a tormented, and then died during the animal experiments. Another fact is from Vivisection Information Network, there is a rough estimate from the European Union that 10.5 million vertebrate animals were used in animal experiments, which is 28,800 per day or one every three seconds. Around 18.5 million animals were used in the USA per year (Updated, 2013). And also the evidence in the emerging field of Human–Animal study, (HAS), shows that animal protection is not taken seriously. A review of Marxist realism, feminism, ecofeminism, social constructionist theorists and approaches that shows the human–animal study is highly concerned. Animal protection movement involves animal welfare, animal liberation, and animal rights. Our focus on this argument will be on animal rights....show more content... This is incorrect because animals have feelings, and some have a measure of speech. In addition, some take care of their young ones and protect each other. This proves that similar to humans animals also have feelings, desires and emotions, and, therefore, deserve to have rights. According to Rene Descartes, every being that has a mind deserves to be treated fairly because it shows that the animal has the ability to think rationally. Charles Darwin, who came up with the theory of existence through evolution, came up with a hypothesis that shows a correlation between humans and nonhuman beings. In his hypothesis, he concluded that animals have emotions and feelings that have evolved the same way as humans' emotions (Francione & Garner, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Persuasive Essay On Animal Rights For thousands of years, animals have served the human race, whether it be for food, clothing, companionship, or laborious tasks. However, it wasn't until 1966 that animals in the United States gained rights recognized by the government. The Animal Welfare Act protects the rights of cats, dogs, livestock, and various mammals from inhumane treatment and regulates their transportation, sale, and handling. Toanimal rights activists, this vague piece of legislation is simply not adequate. Animals such as birds and rodents are not even mentioned, and many of the animals that are supposed to be protected by this law are still the victims of cruel experimentation and exploited by inhumane factories. Vigorous action has been taken by groups commonly identified as terrorists, such as the Animal Liberation Front, but with no long–term effects such as improvements made on existing laws. They argue that sentient beings––animals capable of emotions––should be protected by the same legislation that governs humans. It is vital that new laws are created and enforced in order to end the cruel and inhumane treatment of animals in the United States. In this paper I will argue that animals do deserve extensive rights, maybe not necessarily rights to the extent that some activists fight for, but definitely an improvement needs to be made on the existing law and there needs to be stronger enforcement of it. Right now, animals are not treated humanely in the majority of factories or really at Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Persuasive Essay On Animal Rights Have you ever seen a tiger jump through hoops in the wild, or do hard tricks because they want to? I didn't think so that's because they don't want to. Animals are forced to learn these tricks by using a shock collar, whips, electric prods, etc. Puppy's are being kept in a puppy mill, animals are being neglected and abused. I have basically had a zoo at my house, I have 3 birds, 1 chicken, 2 fish, 1 puppy and I don't want them to feel like they are neglected and it hurts me when I see that Animals are being neglected. While all of my research that I did on animal rights I wanted to find helpful information and guess what I found... Helpful information. So I asked myself some questions. Is there anything that can help animals? Can I do anything about? So I made a driving question and it was What can society do to solve this problem about Animal rights? I was looking up things about this topic and I found a lot of things that can help to prevent or at least help animal rights. The problem is that people are neglecting, abusing, and even get up to the point of killing the animals. The reasons why people started to protest is because other people started to use animal fur, killed animals for food, killed cows for leather, and animal habitats were being destroyed. According to Britannica school people started to protest about animal right in the 1970. The animals that are being most abused are pets and zoo animals. A lot of people are concerned about these animals Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Persuasive Speech On Animal Rights People go to zoos and aquariums and think nothing of the animals. One pays to see the lion do absolutely nothing, and it does this because it knows that this day is no different than every other day. Animals may have given birth recently, yet one sees the baby because it has been taken and sold off to another zoo. Some may argue that zoos and Aquariums are the source to why animals live longer. Although it has been proven, that even while being incaptivity, "many animals suffer mentally from their fellows' death," that is because "not all animals in zoos live to old age, or sadly cannot be allowed to" (Bostock 65). Furthermore, when a lion's only cellmate passes away, it causes depression. It is the details that visitors aren't bothered to think or even ask about. People do not wonder about the cruelty these animals suffer and their behavior, which is why I strongly stand by change being made to accommodate these animals' rights. In the previous paragraph, I mentioned captive animals, as being "cellmates." It may seem a bit odd to refer to them as that, and to some it may be cruel. But there is a specific reason to why I did that. Animals aren't decorations, things, or jokes. They are all living things and deserve the same respect we as humans possess. If one was to think about zoos and aquariums as prisons, a lot would make sense. A prison consists of 4 walls where one cannot get out, that is until one's sentence is done. An inmate is fed 2–3 times a day and one can Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. Persuasive Essay On Animal Rights Your unwitting response only proves how adamant you are to twist and bend the rules to your convenience. The rules clearly state that "the tenant will ALSO be notified", with no further stipulation indicating that said notification is to further be forwarded by the owner of the unit. Also, VERBAL complaints are invalid, as you have stated numerous times, whenever we have addresses our own concerns with other dogs/people in the building. Therefore, you are purposely suppressing the rights we are entitled to, which is absolutely ridiculous and indicative of your personal agenda to attack, harass and discriminate against us, for no reason; which is a clear violation of the regulations set forth by the FHA, not to mention a violation of the IDFPR oath you are supposed to uphold as a licensed community association manager. We make every effort to avoid any issues and/or ever hearing from LMS, but what you are suggesting is cruel and unusual punishment which would cause unnecessary stress and anguish to a sweet animal that did nothing but act like any other normal dog. Adults do not need etiquette tips published on their doorstep to know that if someone is overly terrified of any dog, then they most certainly should not provoke the animal and/or continue to remain within close proximity to said animal. Obviously, animals can sense when a person is petrified and may translate that sense into an alert to danger, which may cause an undesirable action. IF our dog were to ever bite, hurt, attack anyone, as responsible pet owners, we would absolutely address the situation immediately and would not wait around to be reprimanded by someone who was not even there and is seemingly biased to the perspective of only a select group of individuals, which clearly do not include the tenants in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Persuasive Essay On Animal Rights Imagine one minute running freely on the vast green terrain surrounding you, then the next locked up in a cold, hard, cage. It sounds horrible, right? Who would want to be locked up with minimal area to stretch your legs, and have people staring at you constantly? I for one, would hate that. I imagine that most animals locked up would share the same feelings. I personally, am against animals being caged. They do not deserve that kind of lifestyle and should not have to live with it just because humans pay money to see it. Animals are suffering greatly from being locked away. When an animal is bought, traded or given to a zoo, the animals rights are stripped away from them. Zoos do not really have an animal's best interest at heart. If they truly did, then those animals would not be caged in the first place. They would not take animals out their natural habit and deprive them of their instincts. No longer are the animals able to run, hunt, dig, forage or even select a mate. If all of your instincts were taken from you, how would you feel? If you were no longer able to read, write, and talk how would you make it in life? My answer to that question, is not very far. Without those basic skills, we are taught from birth, us humans would not make it far in this world. It is the same thing for animals also. Like humans' animals suffer from depression, anxiety, sadness, happiness, and many other emotions. Caged animals suffer the worst of it from these emotions. Have you ever seen an animal pace back and forth, rock, or sway side to side in their cage on a trip to the zoo? If so, then take note that the animal is suffering greatly. They are most likely suffering from a disease called zoochosis. The poor animal is physically and mentally worn out from being held capacitive. Some zoos have resulted to giving them human drugs such as Prozac to help them with their condition. A condition that the animal would never have if it was not caged to begin with. What has the world come to when innocent animals are drugged? What about when innocent animals are killed for humans' careless mistakes? A gorilla at the Dallas Zoo named Jabari was fatally shot by the police after he tried to jump over the wall of his enclosure. A Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Imagine a small calf that was just born, killed for veal for a restaurant down the street. A furry black fox, killed and skinned for a small fur coat. A lion at the zoo, killed because he ran into the glass and cracked it, just because humans got scared. Humans will put them in fights. We kill them for food. We put wild animals on display. However they do so much more for mankind than we give them credit too, they are used in therapy, they rescue us and help in drugs exploitation. Do over 2,750 trillion deaths really justify the need for humans? Do people really stand above the moral laws and are able to do these horrible things to...show more content... Common methods include keeping the animals in a very confined space and feeding the animals with hormones to improve the texture of their meat and the taste of their milk. This method rarely gives the animals any space to move or exercise and limits the interactions with other animals. Veganism is not consuming or buying anything that is animal base or tested on. Vegetarianism is a less extreme version of that and will sometimes eat some animal products and will use animal products too. Many organizations, like PETA and ASPCA, have tried to fight in court for the rights of animals but not many cases have been won. Organizations like the ALF in Britain have gone to many testing facilities and tried to get all the animals to safety by rescuing them (Wagner and Rich 1). Nonhuman animals and humans have been compared to each other for years, and their mental capacity has been one of the reasons why they are tested on. However, those same people who test animals will say that animals should not have rights because they do not feel the same way we do about things. In the article "Animals Deserve the Same Rights as Humans" by Heather Newton and Micah Issitt, it says that "While the capacity of animals to experience pain can be scientifically demonstrated, the capacity of animals to experience emotion is not as easily quantified. Many humans, especially pet owners, believe from the anecdotal evidence that animals have the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Persuasive Speech On Animal Rights The Earth is a big family; all the creatures are related to each other. Although other creatures beside human beings do not have sophisticated language ability, they have similar emotion sense like us. I love animals, and I was a volunteer at an animal shelter in Taiwan. One of my cats was from there. I remembered when I met her the first time she looked skinny and weak. She was terrified of people, and her eyes revealed sad emotion. After a period of time under my careful care, she gradually became different. She is full of vitality now. She started to believe that human beings and she still lives with us now. Thus, I believe if we treat animals with kindness, they can feel it. I regard a cat's key ring as my spiritual symbol; it means I will protect them all my life. When I see news that is related to animal abuse, I feel particularly sad, especially when it is about animal testing. According to the survey, there is an estimation of 26 million animals suffered every year in the United States because of scientific and commercial testing. Those animals are usually born in a laboratory. They are born for the purpose of drug testing, and they do not have the right to choose. I think all animals have their rights to live in a healthy body. Therefore, if animal testing is prohibited, animals will get their liberation and freedom. Animals have their rights. According to Tom Regan, "To be for animals is not to be against humanity. To require others to treat animals justly, as their rights required, is not to ask for anything more nor less in their case than in the case of any human to whom just treatment is due". In this world, there are laws and regulations to prohibit human beings using other human beings to do experiment. However, there are no laws and regulations to protect animals from animal testing. Do animals have no right to live? Just because animals do not have the responsibility and obligation as do mankind, does it mean their lives are cheap and insignificant? If all kinds of tortures in experiments where was do on a child, will human beings still agree? Animal testing refers to the use of animals other than humans to conduct scientific experiments in verifying each individual factor that might be Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Persuasive Essay On Animal Rights How would you feel if you were used to test drugs, held captive in poor living conditions, and abused on a daily basis? That is the life of an innocent, helpless animal that can do nothing about it. Animals deserve the right to live a happy and healthy life, just like humans do. Their rights are taken away in a number of ways including being physically hurt, living in unfit conditions, and being part of medical experiments. Animals are living, breathing creatures who are constantly treated as a piece of property. First of all, most animals are physically abused by humans. Pets are commonly beaten by their owners. They are denied food, left out in hot cars, and even kicked around by people in the home. Additionally, people will make animals fight each other to entertain themselves. "Irish politician Colonel Richard Martin, a dedicated animal rights activist who opposed such activities as dogfighting and bear baiting, succeeded in pushing Parliament one of the first animal anti–cruelty bills, called the Ill Treatment of Cattle Bill" (Animal Rights 4). If they were out in their natural habitat they would have unlimited space to roam and interact with different species. Also, farm animals used to produce food are kept in areas so small that they don't have any room to walk around. "In 2010, California passed a measure requiring every egg sold in the state to come from farms that allow hens to live in spaces large enough to stand up, lie down, and spread their wings without touching the walls of their enclosure" (Animal Rights 2). • 14. Examples Of Persuasive Speech On Animal Rights Imagine, one day you are a baby orca whale, when you are separated from your family by humans who were looking for sick and lost animals. You then live the rest of your life away from the ocean and your family at Sea World, where you die a much younger age, watched by many people in a large tank. Animal rights seemed like a subject that I would like to look into because it would help me understand more about laws and how animals are treated now and how they were treated before animal rights. I believe that we should let these animal rights tell us how we should treat animals, so I ask you to ask yourself this question: How should we as civilians support animal rights? I have done some research, and I have found some solutions for those who don't believe in animal rights, but I hope that I can change your mind....show more content... • 15. Persuasive Essay On Animal Rights Animal testing has been one of the issues that people are fighting overtime because of its moral. Even though some results of tests are successful on people, many people are still fighting for the animal's rights. They believe that animals should have their own rights to live a free life where they belong, just like their species. In scientists point of view, animals have been one of the main subjects to test on, but a lot of them are currently looking forward to use and develop alternatives for the cruel act of animal testing. For a long time, animals have been used in many scientists' experiments for cosmetics, chemicals, researches, and medications. More than 90 percent in about 1000 scientists around the world, "felt that animal research is essential to scientific advancement" (Yoshida, 2011). One of the reasons that animals are used in labs is because it's affordable, especially mice, since they are "mammals, [...], [they] can be bred in a controlled manner, [...], kept in a controlled environment", and they don't live long, plus fast reproduction (LifeVantage, 2017). Even though those are for science purposes and to help improve people's lives and medicine's quality, no living creature deserves to be locked up and live through pain, and then thrown away like garbage. Luckily, a lot of scientists nowadays realize that animal testing is inhumane and not necessary. Until today, thousands to millions of dollars are being wasted by funding to many studies that are not related to people's lives, or studies that already proved dangerous to humans. For example, people learned that mercury, arsenic, and lead are toxic to humans, especially small children; however, the EPA still provided more than $400,000 for scientists to study on how these contaminants affect animals, by forcing pregnant rats and piglets to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Persuasive Essay On Animal Rights Animal rights is a very complicated issue. It's not fair that they get tortured in a very inhumane way. Believe it or not that animals feel pain just like humans because we're just a different species of animals. "Human demand for meat has led to a quicker production for demand, which means the meat industry production line doesn't stop for anything, especially sick, disabled and not effectively stunned animals." (Animal Rights) There are many cases of animals being mistreated and countless videos of them being tortured, getting kicked also bleeding to death. "Animals that are not stunned correctly are still butchered even when they are still conscious." (Animal Rights) When eating meat, you're "kidneys work 3x times hard than the kidneys of a vegetarian. There are some cases of retailers rejecting the meat because of the condition when delivered." (Animal Rights) The demand of meat is so high because the fast food industry is growing causing more animals to be slaughtered in an inhumane way and suffering before they even get to the slaughter house. There are many cases that are not reported and go undocumented showing that the people don't care. "In 2011 there was an incident in the UK there were footage of pigs being burned, punched and smacked across the head with sharp paddles was captured by animal welfare campaigners. The government through the Food Standards Agency has refused to prosecute those that were involved." (daily Mail) There are also people that actually don't kill the animal correctly before getting disassembled. Basically, the animal feeling every single pain going down the conveyor. The human demand for meat is growing because more people are going to fast food restaurants. Due to the fact that animals are being mistreated before going to the slaughter house. People protest by not eating at fast food restaurants or even buying or consume meat causing more people to become vegan. "Animals lives are their right. Killing them is violent and unjust no matter how it's done." • 17. Persuasive Essay Against Animal Rights We live in a world today where people advocate for equal and fair treatment of all human beings, regardless of race, culture, gender, or economic status. It would be unfair to the other counterparts on this planet that are also living, breathing, and fully–functioning if we were to not consider or include them in this kind of equality as well. Animal rights are defined as "the rights of animals to live free from human exploitation and abuse," according to the English Oxford Dictionary. There is a plethora of animal rights laws that have been passed worldwide, and these laws are supposed to be strictly enforced to ensure the safety and well–being of all animals everywhere. However, there seems to be a misunderstanding when it comes to animal...show more content... The first activist was Bryan Pease, a lawyer and the founder of the Animal Protection and Rescue League (APRL). Pease was one of the most influential people to call attention to the issue of force–feeding and foie gras production in California. He was one of the four individuals that went to Senoma Foie Gras Farm and took actual video footage of animal abuse, while also managing to rescue four birds on the verge of death. While some may believe that force–feeding can be done humanely, the video depicted thousands of birds packed in filthy crates defecating on each other, rats eating the defenseless birds alive, and multiple trash cans filled with dead birds, which is anything but humane. Arnold goes on to interview Dr. Elliot Katz, the founder of In Defense of Animals, and asked for his medical opinion on force–feeding. Katz response compared "force–feeding birds to a human that weighed around 150 pounds and forcing 30–40 pounds of corn mash into their bodies over a 3–4–week period. This would cause a human's liver to expand, degenerate, and stop functioning properly," (Munchies). He explains further that birds begin to experience "diarrhea, seizures, loss of balance, and vomiting, like a human that Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Persuasive Essay On Animal Rights The Animal Bill of Rights are laws that provide animals with rights to protect them and their dignity. Over the years there's been quite a controversy whether if animals should be given rights and a curiosity about their capabilities and if it's enough for them to be guaranteed the rights that a human has. Although it has been proven that animals indeed to have feelings and knowledge to their existence and even causes and effects of life or death, many people in the US still don't agree that animals should have rights. Many of the people who don't agree are more curious as to what would happen and the lengths these rights would go for animals and how it would affect the lives of humans. They laugh at the fact that these rights could possibly apply to all animals even the smallest ones when it shouldn't be a matter of humor. I think the real reason they laugh is because they're afraid of what these animals can do that could possibly outsmart humans in any way. These animals have suffered for years and they finally get to shine and their abuse finally comes to light and more people are realizing the inhumane acts these poor animals go through. Animals should be given a Bill of Rights, after all, they have every reason to be guaranteed this because they've suffered in silence for so long. It is their time now to shine and they finally have a light and that is the chance in life to live and strive for better in their own habitat. Animals have been taken advantaged of, abused, and used for experiments for the own public good. If you think about it they have never been given a voice and they are always discriminated against just because of some minor factors that separates us such as species. I'm sure if animals could talk just like humans more people would view these innocent animals in a more decent way but, we shouldn't let such small factors come between us. Activist and author Jeremy Rifkin of A Change of Heart About Animals claims that "...researchers are finding...that many of our fellow creatures are more like us than we have ever imagined." It's true, he also states that they are like us because "they feel pain, suffer and experience stress, affection, excitement, and even love..." Animals are being used in medical schools, for testing, trained for films and being captivated in zoos. All this is causing a lot of harm to the animals. There are some Foundations that are fighting on the behalf of the animals. Animal Rights Animals have been alongside the human race since the beginning of time. They have been friends of the people and the help for ages, it is only right that they get repaid with kindness not torture nor neglect. All these experiments and school labs just cause pain or and death for animals with no positive outcome. School Laboratories There are universities and schools that use animals to help students understand and learn more of the animal bodily functions. They do so to give the students more understanding and a more hands on experience. These animals are severely harmed and sometimes killed in the process of being utilized to teach. "When I was in medical school at The George Washington University our instructor announced that the next week would include 'dog lab,' " said Dr. Barnard (2016). "That meant that we were to experiment on and kill a perfectly healthy dog." They would kill the dog like DR. Bernard says and work on it so they could learn and obtain a more hands on experience. This was a required course for most schools at that time. The schools would penalize or even expel the students that would refuse to take the animal use courses. He also stated (Dr. Bernard 2016) "At many medical schools, students who refused to participate were penalized or even expelled." The students Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Persuasive Essay On Animal Rights Children, and some adults enjoy going to an Animal Park, or zoo and seeing animals that they do not encounter in day–to–day life. For many it can be a learning experience to witness animals from other areas of the world. What many do not think of is the animal's well being living in captivity. The documentary "Blackfish" gives an inside look at the animals of SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida, in particular the Orca whales. The animal's well–being is not thought of in many instances, it is more about the amusement of the guests who visit. Not to say that animal parks are bad, many are conservation areas to help keep the population of animals where they should be. May animal parks also have breeding programs where they release healthy, young animal species back into the wild to raise endangered species populations. The topic of animal rights while they are in captivity has always interested me. Since I was a young child I have had a love and interest for animals, I took every opportunity I could to visit animal parks and anywhere where I could see animals up close. When I first started to go see animals in captivity I was so amazed at what I saw, the thought of "are the animals actually happy with life" never came to mind. I now know how sad and horrible it is to take these animals from the wild and place them in a small enclosure to live out the rest of their lives. With this project I wanted to see what other peopled thought on this topic, if it was similar to mine or maybe Get more content on HelpWriting.net
