2. Project Phasing
• The Capitol Expressway Light Rail Project is
phased with pedestrian and bus improvements
prior to Light Rail
o Pedestrian Improvements (Phase 1A)
o Bus Improvements (Phase 1B)
o Light Rail (Phase 2)

3. Project Phasing
Pedestrian Improvements (prior to light rail)
• Continuous pathway on both sides of expressway
• Street lighting and pedestrian lighting along new sidewalk
• Landscape buffer between sidewalk and roadway
• HOV lanes to remain (will be removed with light rail)
• Construction is underway with completion in June 2012
• City to maintain street lights and landscape

4. Project Phasing
Bus Improvements (prior to light rail)
• Bus stops at Story Road and Ocala Avenue
• Eastridge Transit Center: Expanded and reconfigured transit center
• Property acquisition began in May 2011
• Design underway and scheduled for completion in early 2012
• Construction anticipated for fall 2012 (pending approval of STIP
allocation)
Light Rail
• Preparing Federal Environmental Document for public comment
anticipated for early 2012

5. Overall Schedule
• Construction for pedestrian May 2011 to Summer 2012
• Property acquisition for bus May 2011 to early 2012
• Federal EIS for public review Early 2012
• Design for bus improvements current to early 2012
• Federal EIS approved Late 2012
• Construction of bus improvements Fall 2012 to end 2014
(pending CTC allocation approval)
• Light rail final design and construction to be determined
