Alfred Hitchcock pioneered many techniques in the suspense and psychological thriller Genres.
He pioneered the use of a camera made to move in a way that mimics a person's gaze, forcing viewers to engage in a form of
voyeurism.
He framed shots to maximise anxiety, fear, or empathy, and used innovative film editing
His stories often feature fugitives on the run from the law alongside "icy blonde" female characters.
Many of Hitchcock's films have twist endings and thrilling plots featuring depictions of violence, murder, and crime.
Hitchcock directed more than fifty feature films in a career spanning six decades. Often regarded as the greatest British
filmmaker.
This is a form of voyeurism. As the audience we are more
focused on the lady rather than the man because of the way
she is standing, Hitchcock uses this a lot in this films.
To create suspends Hitchcock uses the phase in called the mind of the audience
.This is where everything in the screen is deliberately done for the audience ,
Hitchcock uses thriller to get his audience attention example seen in the shot.
As an audience watching this, it create tension to us because we do not know
whose behind them and what is going to happening, this engage us to want
to keep watching the film.

Shots taken from the movie The Lady Vanishes
•

Hitchcock's leading ladies were often aroused by the danger brought about by their leading men. Manipulative, passionate
and at times criminal, his heroines were richly complex characters infused with a deep sensuality that more often than not
complicated the lives of Hitchcock's heroes.
Movie: The Lady vanishes
•
There are countless images of birds in nearly all of Hitchcock's films.
•
Another thing Hitch do in most of his movies is audience awareness
And morals in the movie psycho Alfred made it clear that it was okay to
Have sexual intercourse with someone your were not married to and back
Movie: The bird
Then it was not a open discussion, people were embarrassed and ashamed
And they believed it was wrong Alfred broken line and pass below the
Rules changing the minds of people. This engages the audience attention.
Another thing Alfred uses in most of his movies is placing
an ordinary person in a circumstance sense. The focus on
an ordinary character enables the audience to relate to the
action in the movie. In the movie The Man Who Knew Too
Much, James Stewart plays an ordinary man from
Indianapolis vacationing in Morocco when his son is
kidnapped.

Alfred also like to put a bit of twist in his movies to confuse and to engage his audience. Most of movies contain wrong man or woman
who are mistakenly indentify as a suspect. Example in the movie Secret Agent - The two main protagonists kill the wrong man, believing
he is the German spy they are looking for, also in the movie The Wrong Man - Henry Fonda is mistaken for a criminal. The reason why
Alfred did this is so that the audience feels tension and attracts them keep watching.

What I have learnt?
I have learnt that directors uses different style in movies in order for them to attract their audience and will this I can uses
some of the styles in my opening scene
