What Inspection Services do Dryscan offer?
At Dryscan, we offer a range of different services to ensure your home is dry
and safe. Our pre-purchase or pre-sale house inspections will ensure you end
up in a family home that is healthy and happy rather than leaky, unsound
and in need of expensive repairs.
5. Infrared Moisture Inspection
In many cases, moisture can be
hidden within walls, slowly doing
damage with no visible evidence to
the naked eye. At Dryscan we use
sophisticated infrared technology
including NZ Standard moisture
meters to detect moisture. Infrared
technology uses the part of the light
spectrum the human eye cannot see.
These cameras are sensitive to the
slightest variations in temperature
and therefore have the ability to
detect moisture hidden within walls.
6. Building Inspection
The words ‘leaky buildings’ and ‘moisture’ strike fear into many people. The
response is often “No, I don’t have a problem. Its just the cold side of the house”.
But after 10000 inspections, we stopped counting. We had only seen 20 houses
without any moisture issues. Not all that failed had serious issues but they still
needed addressing before significant damage occurs. THhe moisture detectives at
Dryscan can help diagnose where and what is affected and how bad it is. We use
state of the art infrared technology to see into your walls and ceilings to show
thermal anomalies and then track the moisture to its source.
7. Infrared Technology
Infrared technology uses the part of the light spectrum the human eye
cannot see.
All objects emit infrared light and temperature has a large effect on this.
The infrared cameras are sensitive to the slightest variations in infrared
light / temperature and therefore have the ability to see what we and
normal cameras cannot.
The camera converts this electronically into an image that we can see. In
effect we are seeing the temperature of the image hence the term
“infrared thermography”.
