There are thousands of Bible verses about love in the Bible. I am
sharing with you my top 10 Scripture verses about love that are
both the most popular and that teach what the Bible says about
love. Most people are quite surprised when they find out what the
Bible actually says concerning love. At the end of this list of Bible

My Top 10 Bible Verses about Love
#10 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not
jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own
way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It
does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth
wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always
hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.8 Prophecy and
speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become
useless. But love will last forever!
This is by far one of the most popular and recognized Bible verses
on love. It is also viewed by many as the love is patient poem.
These verses are quoted at thousands of weddings every year. It
stands as the passage of verses that best describes what love really
is. It teaches us not only how to tell if someone loves us, but if we
are really loving someone.
# 9 Romans 5:8 But God showed his great love for us by sending
Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

This famous scripture passage shows the heart of God. That while
we did not care nor give a rip about Him and His plan for our lives,

This scripture along with other verses relating to love shows us that
love is not just an emotion but it is an act of the will. How could God
command us to love Him or our neighbors if it was just an emotion?
We don‘t always feel loving, but we can always love as these verses
show.
#7 Ephesians 5:25 For husbands, this means love your wives, just as
Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her
This verse not only teaches that husbands have a responsibility to
love their wives, but that God, by telling husbands to love their
wives, understands the deep emotional need wives have to be loved
unconditionally. Contrary to the opinions of some, God truly cares

about women and how they are treated. This is one of the most
misunderstood Bible verses about love because it also talks of the
submission of the wife earlier. It is one of my favorite Bible quotes
because it is my hope in the future to be able to be this type of
husband if I am ever honored with favor from God with a wife.
#6 John 13:34 So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love
each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.
This is one of the most challenging Bible verses about love. It
challenges us to love each other, those who are disciples of Jesus,
as He loved the original disciples. I find this hard at times because
there are always certain types of people that are hard to love. But
then again, maybe I am one of those types of people!
#5 John 15:13 There is no greater love than to lay down one‟s life for
one‟s friends.
This verse is one of the most needed teachings from Jesus about
love there is. Jesus not only was talking about Himself, but He was
talking about denying ourselves and living for others. To be other
centered rather than self-centered. In our dog eat dog society
today, this verse is really needed.

for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and

that love originates from God. That if we truly love as Jesus loved, if
we are loving unconditionally then that can only come from one
source. It is impossible for a person to love like Jesus, to love like
God, unless they are born of God and know God personally.
#3 1 John 3:1 See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us
his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to
this world don‟t recognize that we are God‟s children because they
don‟t know him.

love us. He doesn‘t call us servants, or slaves, like any other god
would do, but instead He calls us children. We are part of His family!
#2 John 21:15 After breakfast Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon son

replied, “you know I love you.” “Then feed my lambs,” Jesus told
him.

heart. This is an incident right after Jesus was crucified and Peter
denied Jesus 3 times. Jesus sought Peter out and made him
breakfast and then asked Peter this question. Jesus was the one
that opened the door so Peter could once again walk in a right
relationship with Jesus. He did it for Peter, He did it for me, He will
do it for you if you need Him to.
#1 John 14:23 Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My
Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with
each of them.
This Bible verse about love shows that if we will believe the
message of Jesus, that you can come to God through Him, that our
heavenly Father will love us and that they will come and make their

My Top 10 Inspirational Bible Verses
All of us have gone through hard times and had to overcome
obstacles in our lives and have needed a little inspiration. I have
had to do the same thing. If it were not for inspirational Bible
verses, I am not sure at times I would have had the strength to go
on. During the deep dark times in my life when I have had broken
relationships, the inspiration received from the scriptures was a cool
drink of water in a dry and thirsty land. During the 8 years of

waiting for God to open the door for me to return to ministry, in
spite of my failures during those years, the Bible stood as a firm
foundation to give me inspiration for my flagging faith.
My List Of Top Ten Inspirational Verses In My Life.
My hope and prayer is that you will find the same strength and
inspiration in these inspirational Bible verses that I found in them.
#10 Romans 8:31-38
31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can
be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered
Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all
things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God‘s elect? It is God
who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died,
and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God,
who also makes intercession for us. 35 Who shall separate us from
the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or
famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written:

During times in my life where I felt my failures outweighed any
good I had done, when I felt that my sins would prevent me from

ever being used by God, this is one of the inspirational scriptures
that stood out as one of the prominent that encouraged me to keep
going on. Because no matter what people may say, or how much
they wag their tongues, it is not those people that have the right
nor authority to bring a charge against me. It is God that I answer
to, and not only is He big enough to convict me of my failings and
sins, but He is also the one big enough to change me from the
inside out. Nothing can separate us from His love, and no matter
what I go through, that is a promise I can hold on to when I need
inspiration.

22 So Jesus answered and said to them, ―Have faith in God. 23 For
assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‗Be
removed and be cast into the sea,‘ and does not doubt in his heart,
but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have
whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you
ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will
have them.
This is one of the inspirational scripture verses that has been part of
my spiritual life since I was new in the Lord. My uncle who was a
pastor, use to quote it all the time. It is not just enough to pray, but
you have to pray and believe. I have been a firm believer that when
we believe something, there will be corresponding actions to that
belief. Jesus said to Have faith in God. Not in our prayers or even in
our faith, but in our Heavenly Father. It is because of this belief in
someone, that over the years, I have found out that the strength to

go on, does not come from within myself, but comes from God
Himself who is more than willing to keep us inspired!
#8 Hebrews 13:5
Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such
things as you have. For He Himself has said, ―I will never leave you
nor forsake you.‖
This is one of the most awesome verses I know, and it gives us a
promise that personally, I could not live without. Jesus said that He
would not leave us abandoned. He sent the Holy Spirit who is and
has been a very real presence in my life. I spent hours upon hours
while driving truck, just fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit. It was
the Holy Spirit that has comforted me anytime some person has
hurt me or let me down. The Holy Spirit has sustained me time and
time again and it is because of that relationship that I am
considered an inspiring person today.
#7 Phil 4:19
19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in
glory by Christ Jesus.
Many times in my life I have not known how a certain need was
going to be met. Whether it was financially or in other areas, this is
one of the inspirational verses that has always reminded me who
my true source was. It was not my employer, or other people, but
God was my source. And He has no lack! So just stop for a second
and meditate on that. You can‘t help but getting inspired by this
Bible verse!

#6 Phil 3:7-14
7 But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for
Christ. 8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of
the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered
the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain
Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness,
which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the
righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him
and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His
sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I
may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I
press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also
laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have
apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are

This is one of my favorite motivational Bible verses because it has
been extremely encouraging to me, having lost everything more
than once. It encourages us to let go of the past and look towards
the future. Paul left all of his known lifestyle and friends to pursue
Christ. He left his prestige and his power behind and followed
something that was viewed as controversial and against the culture
of the day. I am constantly reminded to keep my eyes on the prize,

not on the past, nor those that would try to bring up my past
against me. Remember Satan is called the accuser of the brethren.
When a person tries to bring up your past, they are aligning
themselves with him. So if you have lost everything let this
inspirational verse inspire you to look forwards to the future and not
the past.
An Inspiring and Awesome Bible Verse
#5 Luke 4:16-21
16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as
His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day,
and stood up to read. 17 And He was handed the book of the

prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the
place where it was written:
18 ― The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed
Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the
brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of
sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 To
proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.‖
20 Then He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant and
sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were fixed
on Him. 21 And He began to say to them, ―Today this Scripture is
fulfilled in your hearing.‖
This, of all of the inspirational scriptures, is very personal to me.
Because of the fact that I have been one of the brokenhearted,
because I have been one of those that have been in the prison of
life, the fact that Jesus was sent for such a one as I, touches me
deeply. Honestly, in my opinion, this is the mission and heart of the
current work of Jesus in this world. If we, as the church are His
body, then this should be our mission. I hope that you will stop for a
moment and let the inspiration of that verse sink in and you will
take up the mantle of the purpose of Jesus and let it inspire you to
be more like Him!
#4 Psalm 150
Let All Things Praise the LORD
1 Praise the LORD! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His
mighty firmament!

2 Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His
excellent greatness!
3 Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him with the
lute and harp!
4 Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed
instruments and flutes!
5 Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with clashing cymbals!
6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!
I love this verse and it is included in my list of inspirational Bible
verses because for me it is the expression of total freedom in how
we praise God. Many times over my life people have tried to get me
to ―tone it down‖ in my worship of God. Not that I want nor try to
bring attention to myself, but if I feel like clapping, I will clap, if I
feel like getting on my knees, I will get on my knees irregardless of
who may be watching. If I want to shout, I will shout. I have always
felt this way. If we are not self conscious about getting all excited
and exuberant at a sporting event, then how much more should we
get excited about the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords? So break out
the tambourines and the ten fingered instruments called your hands
and praise Him with inspiration.
#3 John 11:35
35 Jesus wept.
Although it is the shortest verse in the Bible, to me it is one of the
most inspiring Bible verses of all. So many times we get in our
heads that Jesus kind of floated above the trials and tribulations of
life and never was affected by them. This is not true. He was a

passionate man and was affected by passionate emotions at times
like the rest of us. This means that He understands. When I lost my
father at age 18, this verse inspired me and gave me comfort that
Jesus understood the pain I was going through.
#2 Mark 16:14-18
14 Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He
rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not
believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. 15 And He said
to them, ―Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every
creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he
who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will
follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons;
they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents;
and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them;
they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.‖
Now you may think that this verse is a strange one to be in a list of
inspirational Bible verses. However, not only do I look at what the
verse is saying directly, that ―these signs should follow them that
believe‖, but I look at what it says indirectly. He is the one that
does this kind of stuff. I don‘t have to make it happen. It is His
power, and for His glory, not something that we do because of our
own attainment. To me that is very inspiring, because I cannot heal
a bug, let alone a person. But I can do all things through Christ who
strengthens me. When you stop looking at yourself and your
inability and start looking to Jesus and His ability you can‘t help but
get inspired!

My number 1 inspirational Bible verse
#1 Jeremiah 29:11
11 For I know the plans I have for you,‖ declares the LORD, ―plans
to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a
future.
This is the Bible verse that gives my life inspiration. What I mean by
that, is that because of what I have went through, because of what
God has brought me through, because He has been found to be
faithful to His word, I know that this of all the inspirational
scriptures is the number one verse for me.

These Bible verses about faith are some of my all time favorites. Having spent 32
years walking with Jesus, I have learned at least a couple of things about faith. Faith is
one of the most important things a believer needs to have. So sit back, have a cup of
coffee, and just let the Lord speak to you through these Bible verses about faith.

My Favorite Bible Verses about Faith
Mark 11:22-24
22 So Jesus answered and said to them, ―Have faith in God. 23 For
assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‗Be
removed and be cast into the sea,‘ and does not doubt in his heart,
but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have
whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you
ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will
have them.
The Bible always teaches to have faith in God, not in faith itself.
Jesus tells us to have faith in God. That is our first priority.
Having faith in faith itself is fruitless. You have to have faith in
someone, not just something. When we have faith in God, then we
can overcome the mountains in our life. This Bible verse on faith is
an awesome example of what can be done when we have faith in
the right person.
Hebrews 11:1
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of
things not seen.
This Bible verse shows us that faith, is what makes things that are
not seen, become seen. When we have faith, we are believing that
God is going to do something that has not already happened. Faith
is a powerful force in the life of the believer. When you have faith,
you can overcome anything.

The Bible Verse about faith to be saved.
Ephesians 2:8
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of
yourselves; it is the gift of God,
This is by far one of the most important Bible verses about faith in
the Bible. It tells us how to receive salvation from God. That means,
how to have a personal relationship with Jesus, and how to be
saved from the penalty of our sin. It also shows in this verse that
faith actually comes from God, it is not something that we work up
inside ourselves.

past is forgiven.
Romans 5:1
1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God
through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Justification means just as if it didn‘t happen. This Bible verse about
faith shows us that we have a standing before God as if whatever
we have done wrong in our life never happened because of faith.
This gives us great peace that God is not holding a grudge or is
thinking back on how many times we have failed.
Romans 10:17
17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
This Bible verse about faith shows us the process of how faith
comes and is built in our life. The first thing we have to do is hear.
Hear what? The voice of God in our hearts. Remember Jesus said to

have faith in God. The second part tells us how to have hearing, and
that is by the word of God. Now since the early church and the
people that Paul was speaking to did not have easy access to the
scriptures since there was no mass printing of Bibles, the term
―word of God‖ is not talking about the Bible, but about Jesus. The
apostle John called Him the word made flesh in the first chapter of
his gospel.

Hebrews 12:2
2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for
the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the
shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

our faith, and the one who is completing the novel of our faith. He is
the one that does the work.
James 2:17
17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
This scripture verse about faith is pretty plain. It tells us that if we
have faith, then we will put action to that faith. That real faith
motivates us to do something about what we believe.
Matthew 17:20
20 So Jesus said to them, ―Because of your unbelief; for assuredly,
I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to

this mountain, ‗Move from here to there,‘ and it will move; and
nothing will be impossible for you.
Again in these Bible verses about faith, Jesus is saying that if we
have faith, that we can do anything. That with our faith in God, all
things are possible. This Bible verse on faith is especially comforting
and encouraging to those who have huge obstacles in their life that
have to be overcome. With faith you can overcome them!
1 John 5:4
4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the
victory that has overcome the world–our faith
This Bible verse on faith talks of the fact that our faith is what
overcomes the world. If you are a born again believer in Jesus
Christ, you will overcome the world. You will have victory. That
victory comes by you using your faith.
The Bible verse about Faith being something
that never goes away.
1 Corinthians 13:13
13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of
these is love.
In this Bible verse about faith, although faith is not the greatest, it
is one of 3 things that never change nor will ever go away. If you
are looking for something stable to base your life on, then faith is
one of the things you want in your life.

Bible Verses about Hope
So why post a list of Bible verses about hope? Well, yesterday I posted my
top 10 list of Bible verses about strength. What I didn‘t realize was how
many people out there were looking for lists like this to help and encourage
them. Especially since so many people in our nation are going through hard
times right now. So I want to be able to minister to that need. If you had
lost everything, what would you need? You would need strength, hope,
encouragement, and a sense of a future. So over the next few days I am
going to make some Bible verse lists for you on these subjects.

My top 10 list of Bible verses about hope are?
3 Scripture verses on hope from the Psalms
#10 Psalm 31:24 So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in
the Lord!
This Psalm of David was written to encourage us to have courage in hard
times. David was very familiar with hard times having had to live in caves
and hide from the current government of the time. If you are displaced or
you are risking death because of your faith, this Psalm is one you can
memorize and take comfort in.
#9 Psalm 39:7 And so, Lord, where do I put my hope? My only hope is in you.
This is another quote about hope that shows us that God will make a way.
He is speaking directly to God and saying that his trust is in God. When all
the things around us come tumbling down, our relationship with God is
the only thing that remains constant. Jesus put it this way. He said to build
our houses upon the rocks so they would have a firm foundation. Our
relationship with God is our firm foundation.
#8 Psalm 147:11 No, the Lord‘s delight is in those who fear him, those who put
their hope in his unfailing love.
The word fear here is not like you would use today. It does not mean to be
horrified or afraid of God, but it means to honor and respect. Our nation has

lost it‘s honor and respect for God and no longer treats Him as the
omnipotent (all powerful) and omniscient (all knowing) God. If we want His
pleasure we must turn back to a relationship with Him.
2 Bible verses about hope from the Old Testament
#7 Jeremiah 17:7 “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made
the Lord their hope and confidence.
The prophet Jeremiah in this Bible verse about hope was encouraging a people
who were headed to captivity. He was trying to get them to turn away from
the direction they were following. I have found this quote about hope true.
Blessed is the man who trusts and hopes in the Lord.
#6 Lamentations 3:24 I say to myself, ―The Lord is my inheritance;therefore, I
will hope in him!‖
When God is what you set your focus on, many of the things we think we
need in life fade. He becomes our portion. The thing that satisfies and
sustains us. That is why we hope in Him.
Paul the Apostle wrote most of the quotes on hope in the New
Testament
#5 Romans 5:5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how
dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts
with his love.

Many people think that hope is foolish and that if you hope you will be
disappointed. They are wrong. If you will hope in the Lord, He will never
disappoint you. Yes you might go through hard times, you might even be
persecuted or killed for your faith, but He is always there and if your focus is
not on self protection but upon Him you will be filled with more love than
you can imagine.
#4 Romans 8:24 We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already
have something, we don‘t need to hope for it.
#3 Romans 15:13 I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely
with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with
confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Paul is praying for the church in Rome that he started in this verse. He is
praying that they would abound in hope! This abundance of hope comes by the
power of the Holy Spirit. When you become a believer in Jesus, you receive
the Holy Spirit in your life to dwell in your heart.
#2 1 Corinthians 13:13 Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and
the greatest of these is love.
This is the famous Bible verse faith, hope, love. These 3 things never die.
Faith, Hope, and Love always remain, both in what you do now, and in the
effect that it has after you go to be with Jesus. You can leave a legacy of
these things.

This is my favorite Bible verse on hope.
#1 Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,‖ says the Lord. ―They
are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.
It is the legacy of my life. I have tried to model and style my ministry upon
this verse. The Lord‘s thoughts toward you are not evil, they are thoughts
of a hope and a future. No matter where you are, or what happens in your
life, God never gives up on you and your future. You can take comfort in
Scripture verses on hope.
I hope that these Bible verses about hope have encouraged you. I know
some of you right now are facing destroyed homes, broken lives and
uncertain futures. Know that your Heavenly Father sees this and is not
against your but for you.
