3. Goals and Objectives
• Discretize and map the given formations
• Analyze log data
• Calculate expected recoverable oil in place
• Recommend further action with the field
4. Findings
• Based upon the data:
• 100 - 270 Million Barrels
• 100 Dollar per Barrel comes out 10 – 27 Billion Dollars
• Further develop the selected area
5. Procedure
Client received request for field analysis
Field discretization
Digitalized formation topography
Analyzed log data on 29 wells
Establish max, min & avg: water saturation & porosity
Interpolated values to entire reservoir
Using generated data & 3 D models to determine sweet spots
6. Geological Structure
• Penta Alpha was formed in the early cretaceous period
• Predict the ability to produce oil
• Types of lithology
• Limestone , sandstone, and minimal shale deposits
• Types of obstacles
• Drilling Break, and kick
• Pay zone rocks
• Sandstone
9. Evaluating Well logs
• Establish cut-offs
• Water saturation < .7 or 70%
• Gamma ray < 40 API
• Resistivity > 10 ohm-meters
• Determine Net Pay
10. Well log data gathering
• From porosity, water saturation and net pay thickness
• Determine maximum, minimum and average values
• Three distribution maps of porosity, water saturation and
net pay thickness
17. Area of Interest
• Determine the areas with higher barrels per acres from
recoverable oil in place
• P50 stimulation
• area of 3643 acres and produce around 34 million barrels.
• P90 stimulation
• area of 3643 acres and produces around 18.5 million barrels
22. Conclusion
• Valued at approximately 10 – 27 billion US Dollars
• A well drilled every 640 acres should be suitable in this
situation
• Potential revenue should be attributed to a water saturation
cut off of 70%
• Recommend entering phase two of drilling and preparing
wells for production

Editor's Notes
Based upon the data, X barrels, x money, we recommend to futher develop this field into the next phase
Picture of surface map
Talk about geological characteristics
And discretization
Possibly defend choices in map discretization
Wells in place map
Explain some cut offs and why
Maybe pic of interpolation of one variable to highlight point
P50 map bbl/acres
In 50 percent of the stimulations we found
Point out any spaces of note
Barrels per acre
More conservative estimate 90% of simulations at least blah blah blah
Why we chose area(maybe on slide before)
How large is the area?
How many Standard barrels we think are there
Talk about differences
Show that we understand how much there is to gain. Talk about highlights
