2. Romans 11 11 I say then, Have they (the Jews) stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. God's desire is not that His people fall and be utterly cast down , but rather, That they realize what they have lost , and return to God through Jesus Christ.
3. 12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; … The salvation of the Gentiles has certainly been a great benefit to the whole world. Most of the good done for mankind in the last 2000 years, has been done by the church .
4. 12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fullness ? When the Jews, as a whole, receive Jesus as their Messiah in the end time, and they will , The blessing to the world will be even greater .
5. 13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: 14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation (jealousy) them which are my flesh, and might save some of them. Because most of the Jews, and especially the religious leaders rejected the Gospel , Several of the Apostles , and especially Paul , turned to the Gentiles with their message.
6. But, even as he turned to the Gentiles, Paul's hope was always that some of the Jews would believe. He prayed that Jews would see the blessing of the Gentiles, realize what they had lost, And turn back to God through Jesus Christ. Sometimes we don't realize what we had , until we lose it.
7. We must learn to value the good things in our life before we lose them.
8. Value each moment. Making good memories doesn't have to cost a lot of money. We just have to savor the good times.
9. 15 For if the casting away of them be the recon-ciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead? When the Jews return to God, it will be the greatest time in the history of the world.
10. 16 For if the first-fruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. Christianity grew out of Judaism, coming from Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, Down through the millennia to Jesus Christ . We want to be grateful to those patriarchs of faith, who led the way to the coming of Jesus. Yes, some Jews rejected the Lord, but others showed us the way .
11. 17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; 18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. Israel was the original olive tree, chosen and cultivated by God. We gentiles were a wild olive tree.
12. The new branch doesn't support the original tree. It's the tree that supports the new branch.
13. Paul was convinced that Israel’s stumbling is temporary rather than permanent and that the nation will be restored as God’s people… The first-fruits and the root represent the patriarchs of Israel or Abraham personally, and the lump and the branches represent the people of Israel. As a result Israel is set apart (holy) to God, and her “stumbling” (rejection of Christ) must therefore be temporary. 14. 19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. 20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not high-minded, but fear: 21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest He also spare not thee. Cause and Effect Was Israel made to stumble to open a door of opportunity for we Gentiles to be saved? No; they were broken off because of unbelief .
15. We stand only by faith in Jesus Christ. Be not high-minded, but fear ! Proverbs 9 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding. Proverbs 1 7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
16. To respect and reverence God Almighty as God Almighty is the first step to knowing Him . He is totally Holy, Pure, Righteous. We can never be worthy to come to Him. Be grateful that God loves us, and has grafted us into His olive tree.
17. But know, constantly be aware , that we stand with God by faith, and only by faith . 21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest He also spare not thee. Ephesians 2 8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Grateful
18. Psalms 100 1-5 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness : come before His Presence with singing . Know ye that the Lord He is God: it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanks-giving , and into His courts with praise : be thankful unto Him, and bless His Name. For the Lord is Good; His Mercy is everlasting; and His Truth endureth to all generations.
