4. 2 Tim 2
20
But in a great house there are not only vessels
of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay,
some for honor and some for
dishonor. 21 Therefore if anyone cleanses
himself from the latter, he will be a vessel for
honor, sanctified and useful for the Master,
prepared for every good work.
5. 2 Tim 2
The Message version
20-21
In a well-furnished kitchen there are not only
crystal goblets and silver platters, but waste
cans and compost buckets—some containers
used to serve fine meals, others to take out
the garbage. Become the kind of container
God can use to present any and every kind of
gift to his guests for their blessing.
15. Matt 23
25 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the
cup and dish, but inside they are full of
extortion and self-indulgence. 26 Blind
Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup
and dish, that the outside of them may be
clean also.
16. Matt 23
27 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed
tombs which indeed appear beautiful
outwardly, but inside are full of
dead men’s bones and all
uncleanness. 28 Even so you also outwardly
appear righteous to men, but inside you are
full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
40. Acts 9:15
15 But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a
chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name
before Gentiles, kings, and the children of
Israel. 16 For I will show him how many things
he must suffer for My name’s sake.”
