God’s Standard of
Morality
There is much looseness in morals today. Many have the
idea that whatever you want to do is alright.
Just living together instead of getting married is one of the
many examples of this. Is there no standard of morality which
we should follow? There is.
In Titus 2:12, we learn that we are to live soberly, righteously,
and godly in this present world. This verse plainly speaks of
God’s standard of morality.
God’s moral standard surely speaks against substituting
living together for marriage. “Nevertheless, to avoid
fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every
woman have her own husband” (I Corinthians 7:2).
Honoring God’s law on morality in this area of our lives will
help us greatly to avoid sexual impurity. His standard on all
moral issues is for our good, both here and hereafter.
Let us sincerely look at all the Biblical teaching on good
moral living. As we heed it, we will help to make this world a
better place in which to live.
