What Are The Most Common Birth Injuries?
1. What Are The
Most
Common
Birth Injuries?
The most common kinds of birth injuries and
how they occur will be discussed in this
presentation.
2. How do birth
injuries occur?
During the labor and childbirth period, the
baby sustains birth injuries. Many factors
could lead to injury at birth. Others are
natural conditions, and others are induced
during labor and childbirth by medical
negligence.
3. Dystocia:
This is a disorder exacerbated by a
small maternal pelvis, an awkwardly
placed embryo, or the inability to
contract and expand safely in the
uterus and cervix.
Large babies
Parents and clinicians should consider
a rise in the risks associated with
vaginal delivery, like dystocia and
cephalopelvic disproportion, if the birth
weight is more than eight pounds.

Injuries
4. Cephalopelvic disproportion
The size of the head or body of a baby
is too big to fit into the pelvis of the
mother.
Certain Conditions Lead to
Birth Injuries
Prematurity
Babies born before 37 weeks of age are
considered to be premature, have much
more delicate bodies than healthy newborns
and can be injured more easily.
Abnormal birthing presentation:
It is known that babies born before 37 weeks are premature, have far more delicate bodies
than healthy newborns, and can be injured more easily.
5. Birth injuries that
are associated
with medical
negligence
include:
• Improper control of fetuses.
• Bad coordination between the
medical personnel resulted in
inaccurate mother and baby care
orders.
• Improper prescribing of medicine
that causes an adverse reaction or
trauma.
• When either the mother or unborn
baby is in pain, perform an operation
such as a cesarean section.
• The manipulation of vacuum
extractors or forceps when the baby
is born.
