The FCPS system will develop a common understanding
regarding the Framework for Teaching Rubric and the
Teacher Evaluation System Models.

Objective

Participants will explore the Collaboration Model in
order to gain an in-depth understanding of the model’s
purpose and value.
Collaboration
“If there is anything that the research community agrees on, it
is this: The right kind of continuous, structured teacher
collaboration improves the quality of teaching and pays
big, often immediate, dividends in student learning and
professional morale in virtually any setting.”

Structured Teacher Collaboration begins with a goal:

  • 2. Outcomes and Objectives Outcome: The FCPS system will develop a common understanding regarding the Framework for Teaching Rubric and the Teacher Evaluation System Models. Objective Participants will explore the Collaboration Model in order to gain an in-depth understanding of the model’s purpose and value.
  • 3. Collaboration “If there is anything that the research community agrees on, it is this: The right kind of continuous, structured teacher collaboration improves the quality of teaching and pays big, often immediate, dividends in student learning and professional morale in virtually any setting.” DuFour, Eaker, DuFour With your table group, share examples of the “right kind of structured teacher collaboration.”
  • 4. Structured Teacher Collaboration begins with a goal: Example: We want to improve our use of pre-assessment results to effectively differentiate within the classroom. The “right kind of collaboration” revolves around a focused goal.
  • 5. Structured Teacher Collaboration examines data: Goal: We want to improve our use of pre-assessment results to effectively differentiate within the classroom.
