Maize may be a cereal grain first domesticated by indigenous peoples in
southern Mexico about 10,000 years ago. The leafy stalk of the plant
produces pollen inflorescences and separate ovuliferous inflorescences
called ears that yield kernels or seeds, which are fruits. Maize is widely
cultivated throughout the globe, and a greater weight of maize is produced
every year than the other grain.
Corn, also called Indian corn or maize, cereal plant of the grass family
(Poaceae) and its edible grain. The domesticated crop originated within the
Americas and is one among the foremost cosmopolitan of the world’s food
crops. Corn is used as livestock feed, as human food, as biofuel, and as raw
material in industry. Within the colorful variegated strains referred to as
corn are traditionally utilized in autumn harvest decorations.

Maize also referred to as corn may be a cereal grain. Maize has become a
staple food in many parts of the globe, with total production surpassing that
of wheat or rice. However, not all of this maize is consumed directly by
humans. a number of the maize production is used for corn ethanol, animal
feed and other maize products, such as corn starch and corn syrup. The six
major varieties of corn are dent corn, flint maize, pod corn, popcorn, flour
corn, and sweet corn.
Maize Starch exhibits all the properties of native starch with some special
features such as non-foaming & non-thinning characteristics of boiling
solution. Hence, maize starch features a marginal effect on the efficiency in
weaving and paper industry. Where high viscosity starch is used, it imparts
higher lastingness to the Fibre and thus improves the sizing.

Maize starch has various direct and indirect uses in many industries. Maize
starch features a low ash and protein. Our maize starch is extracted from
Hybrid corn varieties, which are available near, by our plant. Maize starch is
used in food, paper, pharma and Textile industries.
Sorbitol, also referred to as glucitol, may be a sugar alcohol, which the
physical body metabolizes slowly. It are often obtained by reduction of
glucose, changing the aldehyde radical to a hydroxyl. Most sorbitol is
formed from syrup, but it's also found in apples, pears, peaches, and
prunes. It’s synthesized by sorbitol-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, and
converted to fructose by succinate dehydrogenase and sorbitol
dehydrogenase. Succinate dehydrogenase is an enzyme complex that
participates within the acid cycle.

Liquid Glucose (sweetose) may be a clear, colorless, viscous solution making
it compatible with the physical properties desired within the end products
Chemically, Liquid Glucose has functional properties such as high ferment
ability, viscosity, humectancy -hygroscopicity, sweetness, colligative
properties and its role in Maillard's reaction. The properties of Liquid
Glucose are directly associated with the DE (Dextrose Equivalent) then are
its effects a flavour, freezing point depression and osmotic pressure. Other
properties such as cohesiveness, bodying characteristics, foam stabilization
and prevention of sugar crystallization are inversely proportional to the
increasing DE. The reducing action of glucose makes it incompatible with
strong oxidizing agents, which has advantages of its own.

Maltodextrin may be a polysaccharide that's used as a food additive. it's
produced from starch by partial hydrolysis and is usually found as a white
hygroscopic spray-dried powder. Maltodextrin is easily digestible, being
absorbed as rapidly as glucose and could be either moderately sweet or
almost flavorless. It’s commonly used for the production of soft drinks and
candy. It can also be found as an ingredient during a variety of other
processed foods.

Maize Market: Dynamics
Increasing demand for animal feed and industrial use because of ever
increasing global population is predicted to drive the expansion of worldwide
maize market over the forecast period. Moreover, increasing health
awareness in emerging and developing economies have resulted within the
shift of dietary preference of individuals towards protein-rich food which has
led to an increased demand for all feed grains which also include maize,
thus driving the expansion of the worldwide maize market. However,
constant fluctuation within the prices of maize and rising concern of
consumers towards genetically modified maize which has resulted within
the demand for the segregation of non-GM crop from GM crop has resulted
in another expense to overall supply chain thus restraining the expansion of
worldwide maize market.

Increase in Demand for Animal-Based Protein Sources
The increasing pressure on the livestock industry has intensified within the
recent years, to satisfy the rising demand for meat and high-value animal
protein. Population growth, rising incomes in developing nations, and
urbanization have led to a surge within the global livestock consumption.
The amount of income and consumption of animal protein are found to be
directly correlated to the consumption of milk, meat, and eggs, which is
increasing at the expense of staple foods. Since, Maize being one among the
key ingredients of just about every variety of compound feed for animal
types, such as ruminants, poultry swine, and aquaculture. Hence, the
rising demand for animal-based protein sources is probably going to drive
the trade and therefore the market for maize at a worldwide level.

The main demand for starches arises from textile, paper and construction
industries besides the pharmaceutical industry. The utilization of those
derivatives within the food industry is growing but not at a very fast pace,
however, there's tons of potential for the corn starch processing industry
that is still untapped. The most reason why the great potential for corn
starch in India remains untapped is because there's a legal restriction
associated with the utilization of modified starches within the country. India
has an abundant supply of maize also because the other raw materials that
are utilized in the processing or production. This is often why raw materials
needed for the expansion of the industry. The maize market is forecasted to
grow at a CAGR of 3.8% during the forecast period (2020-2025).
