3. Indeclinable and Declinable Words

The “indeclinable” words do not change
their vowel endings because of
different causes (so they maintain their
vowel ending) e.g.
ُ‫ة‬َّ‫ي‬ِ‫ن‬ْ‫ب‬َ‫م‬ْ‫ل‬‫ا‬“indeclinable”ُ‫ة‬َ‫ب‬َ‫ر‬ْ‫ع‬ُ‫م‬ْ‫ل‬‫ا‬“declinable”
The “declinable” words change their
vowel endings because of effects.

In Arabic, words take different cases i.e.,
o Nominative – ‫ع‬ْ‫ف‬َ‫ر‬-(‫األفعال‬‫و‬ ‫لألْساء‬)
o Accusative - ‫ب‬ْ‫ص‬َ‫ن‬-(‫األفعال‬‫و‬ ‫لألْساء‬)
o Genitive -

4. A relative pronoun (‫المصول‬ ‫)االسم‬ is that noun which is followed by an independent sentence which relates to
it. On its own, it cannot form a complete sentence but must have a link (‫)صلة‬ which refers back to it. The
sentence that follows the relative pronoun (‫المصول‬ ‫)االسم‬ is called the link (‫.)صلة‬ This link would be a sentence
that has a pronoun (visible or hidden) which would refer to, (return back to) the relative pronoun.
ُ‫ة‬َ‫ل‬‫و‬ُ‫ص‬ْ‫و‬َ‫م‬ْ‫ل‬‫ا‬ ُ‫اء‬َْ‫َْس‬‫أل‬‫ا‬(Relative Pronouns)
(‫ا‬َ‫)م‬ and (ْ‫ن‬َ‫)م‬ are two additional relative pronouns that are used for all genders and numbers
