1. A group with a
Mind and a
Heart
The story is written collaboratively
by the children participating in
the eTwinning program “We
care about our planet and try to
make it cleaner”
2. Once upon a time on a distant
and tall mountain somewhere
in Greece, there was a
beautiful and green forest full of
beautiful wildflowers and happy
little animals.
The little bat, Irene, climbed the
tree to see off the mountain
and ate a butterfly.
Where she was sitting saw the
owl Koukou.
I’m fine , but
I'm also very
sad, because
wherever I go, I
see garbage.
.
Yes, you are
right, we
have to do
something
Near here
lives the turtle.
We can go and
ask her to join
us and ask from
her to tell us her
opinion
3. As they started for Daisy's house, they met the cat
Max.
Hello girls
where you
go so hasty?
Come with
us and go
all together
to Daisy’s
house.
4. All, the friends together started walking to Daisy's house.
Suddenly, as they were walking, they heard a strange noise.
Did you hear
that? What
was it?
Do not be
afraid it is Lolos
the hare.
We are going to
call Daisy to gather
all of us and see what
we can do with
the garbage that
filled the forest
5. As they were walked, they heard a voice calling for help.
Help! Help!
It was Aros the hedgehog who was trying to clean a big
garbage from his back thorns and did not manage it.
All together, the friends ran to Aros to see what was
happening. Please help me
take out the
garbage from my
back!
The friends helped him and Daisy the turtle, who in the meantime
heard Aro's voices, join to the company and took the rubbish
from his thorns.
After that the animals, decided to go and meet Mrs. Sofia the
old plane tree. Mrs. Sofia was a very wise tree since she was over
400 years old.
Her branches had seen many beautiful but also bad things that
have happened in the woods all these years.
So they started walking all together to the river, where the
roots of Mrs. Sophia just spread. The whole
group approach Mrs. Sofia and …
6. They told her about the problems they have with the rubbish.
Mrs. Sofia said that she agreed with them. She told them that
how beautiful and
clean the forest was when she was a young tree.
She was missing old days. A lot of her plant friends weren't living
there anymore.
A lot of her animal friends had migrated. Tears streamed down
from her face.
We have a
right to live
here too
We need to
reach
humans.
We must
make them
see our
situation
here
How would
they feel if we
would throw
these rubbish to
their homes.
They looked at
each other….
7. Mrs. Sophia told them that many years ago everything in the forest was
different.
There was no junk because people
were showing respect to the forest. It also told them
More animals there in the past ……
I remember my favorite friend's
family of the bear. There have
been several years since the last
time I saw them. They moved away
because they could not live here.
Where are they?
We have to do
something to make
everything work like it
used to in the past
8. Let's collect all the
rubbish and with
them to build
brooms in order to
clean our house,
the forest.
Your idea is very good,
but I'm afraid we will not
manage to do it
ourselves. Perhaps the
beaver who is a good
craftsman can help
I know a group of children who
love the forest and often come.
They play, they laugh, and I
laugh with them too! Surely if we
talk to them they will help us....
9. The animals went to school to find volunteers who would
help clean the forest, but only three children accepted to
help. They went to the woods and met Mrs. Sophia, the oak
How can we save
the forest?
You have to
find the
Nymphs of the
forest
where are they?
10. They have been
hiding because
they were angry
with the people
Why?
because people
destroy the forest with
their rubbish, fire it, cut
its trees, spend the
paper and do not
recycle.
: Where can we
find them? We
love the forest
and want to
save it
They are hidden
in a cave in the
forest
11. The three children, Betty, Carina and Paul searched
in an old book fort he way to the cave.
It was deep in the forest. They started very early in the morning.
we have been
walking for
hours. The cave
must be here
around
I see the
entrance
Now we can ask
the Nymphs how to
clean the forest
12. They carefully went into the cave.
It was quite dark and they had forgotten the torches.
Ohh, it is too
dark. I can’ t
see my hand!
Helloooo!! Nymphs!
Don’ t be afraid! We
come to ask you,
how to clean the
forest, so all animals
can live here well.
Ahhhh…….!
Help
but at that moment
something ugly
happened
13. Betty, where
are you? Do
you need
help?
Attention! There is
a hole in the
ground. I fall into
and it is very deep
Can you
climb out? No! I hurt my
leg. Please go
back to get
help by our
parents.
14. Carina and Paul went back to the village as fast as they could.
They alarmed the police and the ambulance and their parents.
Friends of the parents came with them to help.
So a large group of adults went to the cave to help Betty.
On the road they saw the forest and began to understand
Oh, how much
trash here around
in the forest
It is awful!
I can’t
see any
animal
We have to
do something
15. They arrived the cave , rescued Betty and
thanked the Nymphs of the forest.
On their way back all were talking about all the trash in the forest.
The coming Sunday almost all inhabitants oft he village met in front
of the church. Then Betty said:
Thank you for helping me.
You all saw how awful it
looks in the forest.
WE HAVE TO CLEAN IT!
that's what the Nymphs
told us. Otherwise we will
lose all animals
16. And so it happened. All children and their parents went to
the forest and did a very large cleaning action.
Also they decided to make rules about the trash,
about fire in the forest and how to
behave well to have a clean and healthy surrounding
where all animals and humans can live together.
Children also convinced adults that they should take
responsibility for waste. They all managed to make the
forest clean again. The key is to work all together. No
miracles happen if we do not try all of us together!!!!
