your audience feedback?
Question 3

2. Audience feedback is an important sequence in
the overall production of my media products.
Before publishing my finished work the audience
feedback played a vital role in helping me decide
on certain features that were effective in my
work and certain features that weren't. Through
this audience feedback it made me appeal to a
wider audience and allowed me to cater, thus
making my work popular within my chosen
genre.

3. I conducted a questionnaire to five separate
people to gain results on what they thought of
my finished pieces.

7. The questions that I have asked have given me
pointers and positive/negative comments to
evaluate and compare to my finished work.

8. By producing this questionnaire, it enabled me to form a relationship with the potential
audience members. This meant that I would receive more honest responses and more in
detail responses.
Response to question 1-
“ I feel I would be attracted to buy the album through the digipak mainly because of the front
cover image is very powerful and it grabs your attention very quickly which is what would
attract me to buy it. Also, it is a very simple design which makes it an easy look and not too
complicated.”
My comment- This response shows me that the decision to create a simple and un-
cluttered front cover was correct. The audience member said they liked the solo
front cover image therefore my choice to use this powerful image was good. As far
as making the simple images and font, I knew before producing the product that the
simple style is popular within the indie/pop genre, so this has also worked in my
favour.

9. 2nd response to question 1-
“The picture is very eye-catching which means that it is doing its job. However,
there could be more detail on the front cover as at the moment it is looking
very plain. It could be filled with more detail on the picture and also more
detail on the font style”
Comment- The running theme of having positive feedback about my main
image is continuing, but this feedback also showed me that they thought the
digipak cover was too simple and that more detail could be added. I feel this
is a valid point, but the indie/pop genre is mainly controlled by simple
artwork and simple idea therefore this is why I created the simple style.

10. Results of Question 2

This result of question 2 shows a positive result for my digipak as it suggests that 80
percent of the audience believe that it supports the music video well.

11. Question 4 Response-
“Some of the things that I did like within the 3 areas were that
they all worked well together, I liked the idea of the masks within
the music video as it gave it something interesting for the
audience to think about.”
“I didn’t think the digipak had enough detail as it looked too
simple on the front cover”
Comment- I have noticed the common theme of opinions on my
digipak’s simplicity which would suggest that it is the common
opinion, this would mean that if I was to create it again I would
use more detailed artwork on my front cover to add more flare
and creative touch.

This question asked if more colour should be used within my products. The general
consensus was ‘no’ with 90% saying so, this means that me using the simple, darker and
neutral tinge to my music video and images was the correct one. Some comments were
that the colour scheme fits in well with the typical genre.

13. How well do you think the digipak supported the other two

15. For my final question asking the target audience whether they
liked the whole feel of all of my pieces was a good idea, as it
gave me the general thoughts and opinions of the target
audience. This question made it easier for me to determine
whether my whole creation was successful in entertaining and
pleasing the audience.
Through using the pie charts to display my results it gives a clear
image on what the audience did or did not like. The feedback
was mainly positive but the constructive feedback helped me to
notice the areas that didn’t really fit in within the chosen genre.

16. Other audience feedback included-
“ The solo male character suited the song very well and
the emotion shown on his face was very believable and
genuine, this meant that the music video looked
professional”
“The location that the video was filmed in was
ideal to match the mood of the song, as when it
was reflective within the song the character was
looking out onto the river.

17. “The clothes that the character was dressed in
was typical for this music genre, it was simple
but relative”
Comment- This feedback further enhances my
fashion decision for the simple clothing choice

18. All this feedback was very useful in the overall
evaluation of my pieces of work. This section of the
evaluation allowed me to take on board the thoughts of
my target audience and also allowed me to publish
their thoughts in easy to read graphs.
In the future when creating other pieces of media, this
feedback will allow me to improve on any
enhancements I need to make, and it will also make me
understand what the audience of this genre want to
see.
